Power is not cheap

It is not because we did not own technologies that should make it cheap.

If you read the story, it's clear Shell was never interested in refining the gas, that's because they will make more money with oil, than the wahala that comes with gas; these guys are after their business interest, to hell with our national interest.

It will only matter to them if they can massively profit from it. It's just unfortunate what some people have done to this country.

Business / Re: 1978 Naira Exchange Rate With Dollar by Yusufisraelj(m): 3:25pm On Feb 01
TimeManager:
Kids of nowadays, SMH!. When you stopped history in schools, this is what you get- ignorance!, blissful ignorance!. If you knew the level of great hardships that our parents went through during the period, you won't be here heaping a satanic worship on a man who initiated the begining of economic woes on Nigeria. With the introduction of SAP, IBB destroyed the economic foundation and progress of the country. In one fell swoop, naira was devalued by 500%, then up to 2000%, our debts increased to about $34billion, inflation rose to 54%. We could barely service our short term loans and thus, sellers overseas were reluctant to sell goods to us. Till today, we haven't recovered from SAP, IMF, World Bank captivities that IBB led us into and guess who was the Finance minister at the time, an economist and an ex-World Bank staff, Dr Kalu Idika. Kalu. If there's anyone that should be tied to stake and shot, it is these two evil geninuses.

-kiss the truth!

Yep you're probably right, but 1978, Obasanjo was in power.

Thank you sir. Na only you dey see am. Others they see tribal sentiments but ignoring the fact that Northerners are the most corrupt in this country. Just look at how they manipulated Emefiele. Even though, we know he is also a thief but they seriously used him.

You think this about dollar's? Lols

I don't have issues with FAAN, but CBN? What's the logic behind that?

Some claimed it's space, that too flippant a reason. Mind you there's CBN sub headquarters in all states of the federation.

madridguy:
It is only APC that accepts court rulings. Others are always crying foul of judgements that do not favour them.

APC accepted Plateau and Kano judgements.

Are you okay? Did you follow the elections in those states? Or you think people are dump to come out that bold?

Go and your homework, the said parties actually won without rigging, even sule and nentawe knew they lost. Sule had the power of incumbency and played his cards well, Caleb also knew how to play cards. Left for me I don't complain when I lose, I dig deep to find out, because at the end, winners really win: this talks about knowing how to disarm your enemy before you even start fighting.

Mind you the unrest in Plateau would have been on another level, if Caleb had lost, the love is palpable and recent killings gruesome, that would have galvanised the population against such such stupid ruling.

The headquarters shouldn't have been relocated to Abuja in the first place. Lagos is the economic center of the nation

I laugh in Swahili. The ideal economic headquarters of the nation is suppose to be Rivers state. It has the needed resources and deep sea to house any large cargo ship in the world. Certain ship cannot dock in Lagos, I don't know if this new one they dredged is able to do that.

Long story short, Lagos was made the economic centre because of interest. Simple and straight.

If you understand that the world runs by interest, then half of your world view is already correct.

Career / Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by Yusufisraelj(m): 12:55pm On Jan 13
SharingIsLife:
Endure it and do your work excellently for 2 months. Work in such a way that you become an INDISPENSABLE member of staff (after all, you're used to low salary).

As you do this, you will be a total surprise to the secretary and anyone else expecting you to be demoralized at work because of your low pay. This is good for workplace politics because people can't really understand you. But this is not the main aim of doing your work so well as I have advised.

This is the main aim: After 2 months, go to the management and ask for a pay raise. If they delay in doing this, submit your resignation letter. And if they ask you why you are leaving, you tell them that you need a pay raise and that you found another job offering you that.

Don't have any atom of fear while doing this as long as you know you have become indispensable to them.

You need to get a pay raise as soon as possible not just because of you yourself but because of other workers. Because the company may decide to reduce other people's pay thinking that they are paying too highly in comparison to other companies.

Two months is too early. He needs to settle in there, understand their ways of doing things before his results begin to speak, at least six months.

And no organization reduces salary because Someone priced himself cheap, that's the person's wahala.
Career / Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by Yusufisraelj(m): 12:49pm On Jan 13
Jackanda1:
I recently applied to work in an organisation.

After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.

When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question;
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?

I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.

I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.

Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.

Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.

I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.

Anyone with this experience? Please console me.

All hope is not lost!

What made you join in the first place? Mind you you're under review till six months later.

Anywhere I go I make sure I make massive impact, when that time comes for confirmation, put it in writing what you really feel you deserve, benchmarking that against the strides you have made, also let them know in a non threatening way that if that's not considered it will affect your performance and ultimately you would leave.

Nobody leaves what works, just make sure you're very advantageous to the company. In all places I've worked even with the military my KPI is above average, and I don't drag price, if you can't pay forget!

Ladies, a guy having a dangling facid dxck doesn't mean his dxck is huge. There are 2 types of dxxks on men... shower and grower.
This guy is a "Shower"... Those you should fear are the growers. It's scientifically proven, growers have bigger and longer dxxks when erected.

My advice to you, when you see a guy with a small dxck when it's flaccid, run for your life.

How come you pple accepted the result of Abia. State? Why didn't you reject that too.

What are you saying self? Are you blind to see how Abians came to inec state collation centre to defend thier votes? Even at ward level it was clear labour won (that's where you check the credibility of elections: because voters wait to see the outcomes of the election there and you can't manipulate the figures as a presiding officer, you will be lynched, all party agents are there and won't allow that, at ward level there's no fight, it's clear who won, because the numbers are true).

Have you visited the state to see the terrible roads that even trailer get stuck? Abegi!

Yakubu who happens to come from my state and so also the Chief judge on the case at appeal court, turned blind eye's to massive irregularities. The credibility of the last presidential election is highly questionable.

My candidate was Osinbajo, immediately he lost primaries, I knew the outcome of the election will be marred.

Time we take this eastern seaport stuff extra serious rather than the mansions and courtyards that people are showcasing

Go and find out why there is quiet Xmas everywhere in Lagos .even Nigeria breweries did not sponsor their usual beach jam. Lagos economy is gone , take it easy on the demolitions so that you can have people that can bailout wema bank, GTB, Polaris and sterling bank during consolidation coming soon

Oga this notice pass 24hrs, that computer village has been designated for something different, government have been saying this for long, even before the recent notice on demolition. I think they provided or hinted on where to go, can't recollect at the moment.
