Are there not ladies that are "decently dressed"? Why are you not focused on them? Are all women dressed that way? How does it affect your existence?
I am not down for the back and forth with you.

You've still not stated the crux of your problem, are you saying indecent dressing is the cause of ills in the society? If yes, if you mean rape, something is wrong with your head, are decently dressing ladies not being raped? Are males not being raped? But I'll give you the benefit of doubt, give examples of the ills you mean first let's know where your head is at?
Before you divert the conversation in focus or make it about whataboutism

I am not taking about rape or about men who can't keep their sexuality in check, i am talking about women who go out and don't dress well even in social gatherings and wear clothes that are too revealing.

Let me ask: Do you think young women can do better when it comes to wearing decent clothes out there?
FamilyRe: It's Despicable What A Lot Of Younger Women Wear Nowaday's. by zanshi(op): 7:04pm On Nov 08, 2021
Worst still when you see them dress with short skimpy dresses and they have to continually drag it down so it can cover sacred areas.

Op and others devoid of properly making use of their thinking faculty, how is it that the problem you have is with ladies that dress as they see fit instead of educating the sick-in-the-head nomenclatures that let their manhood think for them? I'm assuming you are a man, learn to face front and control your libido when you see what blinds your eye, or better yet, go live in Pluto where no female exists, no one is going to adjust their way of life to suit you.
As a man i who is aware and enlighted i have my libido in check. But that won't stop me from addressing woman who put on things that are too revealing.

Like i said modern day women like you would rather look the other way than give your 2cents regarding ills in the society. The crux of my argument is centered on women doing better when it comes to dressing better out.

I find it to be utterly despicable what a lot of younger women wear out today all in the name of fashion, i am talking about women particularly within the age of 18-28. I very much understand that a lot of women love fashion and like to dress to impress to every occassion, but there is a thin line between being excessive and being modest. I reside here in Lagos, and i see young girls the age of 15 wear skimpy body tight clothes and you being to ask yourself what has society come to.

You see in society, regardless of how crazy, rich, influential a man is there are certain people who will call out his behavior if he decides to step out of line, but watch in the case of a woman, even women are afraid to call out their fellow women who go out of line and would often look the other way, but you know what society as we have today didn't just morph into this liberalized do as you like mentality, society was bond by rules and moral consciousness whenever we err.

Just when you think societal norms is crumbling right at our feet, there is hope afterall. A lot of high end restaurants in Lagos wouldn't let you enter if you wear too revealing clothes or outfits that doesn't differentiate you between an escort or just a city girl. Whilst, it would be unfair of me to completely blame the women, it is imperative the designers of these outfits know that this is not casual dressing that is appropriate for your average teenage girl. Back when we i was growing up in Lagos in the early 2000's a lot of people frowned upon women who wore mini skirts, but the average girl wears it nowadays and because if she doesn't people would look at her as if she is not in vogue.

Would be great to hear the suggestion of other folks chime in on this topic.

RomanceRe: Yahoo Boys Are Damaging Wife Materials, Average Guys Cannot Find Wives Again by zanshi:
Our society is already getting to the point where people who are working legit incomes and choose to live below their means are now seen as boring and worthless. The truth is that real wealth takes time and experience to build. We are already a classist society to begin with where what the next man wears or whatever he chooses to do with his money is enough to make us feel bad to a point that is as if we aren't doing well in by ourselves. And the biggest enablers of such toxic behavior are no other than "Nigerian women" they are the biggest consumers of vain things like fake nails, fake hair and they put pressure on men who have a path ahead of them to compromise, steal just to please them.

It is why sometimes there is so much desperation in the country. A stat by NBS; Nigerian Bureau of Statics was released today that only 99.4% of people have less than N500,00 in their account and yet we still try to do pass ourselves?

The dating culture in Nigeria is toxic to begin with and the first conversations people are having is about money not even about compatibility in value system, and i have always queried such toxic traits that am i buying someone here.

We are already a generation of young people that inhereted a bad economy, we are skipping marriage and child bearing by a large proportion you do the math...

FamilyBuilding Wealth As A Young Man And It' Challenges. by zanshi(op): 7:55pm On Oct 20, 2021
Building wealth in todays world as a young man takes a lot of sacrifice, perseverance and focus. As for me, 2020 was a rough year financially even for everyone including households, govt and everyday people, we had to imbibe the habit of living prudently and only attending to what was important financially while saving for the future. As a millennial living in Lagos, there are a thousand and one distractions happening here and there that wants you to do away with your disposable income and keep up as a socialite but if you are too drowned into this lifestyle quick you would wake up one day regretting why you failed to save for tomorrow.

I pride myself to be a minimalist and live a rather spartan lifestyle even though i lived life as a middle class Nigerian, went to good private schools and met people with influence in todays society, but i have come to a realization that one of the biggest distraction as a young men when it comes to building wealth is "Consumerism". The need to always buy, buy and buy what isn't exactly important just to be able to keep up with the Joneses. The American industrial complex have developed a way to hack into the human mind to get you to buy, buy and buy and God forbid you be the odd one out in your circle who doesn't have the new iPhone 19 or Samsung Galaxy F1, you are almost seen as if you are not important or someone without substance. I have been reading a lot of personal finance lately on forums like Reddit and you get to hear white boys draw up a 20year plan on how they plan to save xyz amount of money before they reach 40 and retire. For folks who reside in British West Africa, you get to ask yourself wait, a 20year old white boy charting up a plan he wants to follow judiciously on saving and retiring in his 40s how is that even f**king possible. Just early this year, a lot of white boys who had Robinhood accounts were showing screenshots of how much they made with the Netflix, AMC and Gamestock stock boom and some that i saw ran into millions of dollars, so imagine a young boy 28years old having $1.1m in stock value he can decide to invest a large chunk of it and his generation is set for life.

The second threat to financial success for young people today is the influence of Pop culture. Mainstream media in conjunction with Global industrial complex have perfected a way to get young people hooked on a certain lifestyle, product or service. They handpick someone who they think it's best for their brainwashing campaign and get them to pitch a certain product or service to young people which get's them to loose their damn minds and the inability to critique if this product or service is beneficial to me or not.

Like the popular saying goes money for hand back for ground, dating in modern day Nigeria is too transactional and it's a case of what can you do for me before you can get my attention. This has left a lot of young men to do away with dating in itself before it damages your pocket worse than you came. But how did we get here. Nigeria from the Fons et origo has always been a conservative society and slightly egalitarian in nature, we do everything as a family unit rather than an individualistic mindset, so things like "group economics" and pooling resources for the greater good of the family was the code that we lived by. In America folks who are dating combine monies together to pay rent, and share resources amongst each other even amongst couples the man can be responsible for paying mortgage and the wife other household bills, in few years down the line they have one or two prosperities to pass down as generational wealth that can x10 in value as against the amount it was paid for initially. Nollywood has influenced a nouveau rich wealthy class narrative where guy who has to bear the brunt of breaking out financially paying the black tax, taking care of himself and family and also investing in his future and you wonder why a lot of men don't live long among us. I like the fact that today's men are challenging the status quo by demanding the woman to also split the bill when it comes to romantic dates and contribute their quota to family upkeep because it isn't easy for one person to stomach all the responsibility of raising a family all by himself while his wife exist just for the sake of looking pretty. Even today's young men don't want to get married to women from families where they are not well to do or the girl in question doesn't have a job or in cases where the girl's family has too many poor dependents. We have come to challenge the status quo that Nollywood has fed us that the rich guy is coming to the village to come and marry the poor beautiful girl from the village just because she is a virgin and looks beautiful.

The most important thing in life is a plan, the richest people in the world today didn't have the money to fund their business empire but they sure had a plan, sometimes the the most important thing you need in not not money just yet but a "Plan". We owe it as a duty to map out a 10-20 year plan on how we intend to achieve goals we have set for ourselves, we should set these goes to be high with a target even if we don't met 80% and we end up doing 41% we would be proud of ourselves that we made tremendous effort.

Nigeria has a large population of young people, i reside in Lagos and i can tell you for a fact that there are a thousand and one people who do they same thing you do, have the same qualification as you do, and maybe even reside in the same district where you stay so it make living in Nigeria today aside the fact that we have a large population very competitive. You have to do something exceptional before you can be able to achieve success, but what if we are approaching this the wrong way, what if the way to attain success is if we can practice group economics combines skills, resources and effort together be a part of a cause. This could be a better strategy rather than moving as a lone wolf.

Covid has sure taken a hit into everyone's finances, and its more complex when you have dependents who need xyz amount of cash so they can pay a bill or need money to buy groceries, pay for hospital bills and so on. While i very much appreciate the close knit family system in Nigeria that is available to lend a helping hand to family members in help, these monies also come from people's savings stash and inconvenience them further even when it is painstakingly hard to say "NO". Just from 2020 up until now, i have had request from people who i least expect who want to lend xyz amount of cash to do this or that, while some i have offered my token to help in the situation some have borrowed and chosen not to pay back and what can you do? Life is hard one everyone i understand but you cut yourself in half trying to please the world, sometimes cut yourself some slack because you deserve it.

Hello esteemed Nairalanders,

My younger sister just completed her NYSC. She was able to save up to N200,000.00 during her service year. She has the intension to go into business, but not certain of the kind of business to go into. She consulted me as her elder bother and told me about her intension. She had only N200,000 which will not be enough. I was impressed by her conduct and idea. I decided to help her with N1,000,000.00 (1m) in addition to the N200,000.00 making it total of 1.2m naira currently in her possession.

However, she does not know the exact business to start with the N1.2m. Hence, I decide to seek business ideas and suggestions here on Nairaland to help my sister startup a lucrative business with that little capital.

What kind of business can she start with the N1.2m?

Thanks!

I hate to say this but the Yoruba's are the most notorious in sexu.al immoralities. Their musicians use genital and s.exual wordings recklessly in lyrics as their people (children and the aged alike) listen without any iota of concern. What of se.xual immoral lifestyle? Terrible.

This one (Tiwa) is showing y'all what obtains in where she comes from. My single mother Yoruba neighbour here in same west almost died midnight last week from abortion complications. She ran into our yard asking a neighbour who owns a bike to help her to the hospital. Before reaching our yard, she had collapsed at my window, I heard the thud. God saved her she could wake up again. After losing much blood, she was lucky to be saved that night. She had feigned ordinary sickness before this happened, but the landlady confirmed it was an abortion attempt to people from the blood and what came out from her body as found on the ground the next morning in her absence. She is back home now recovering with her children and pissed by rumour.

Foolishbuhari:
Maybe unrealistic but this is Nigeria where a self-contained apartment is given ₦30k as estimated light bill. A house without even AC or pressing iron. This is a country where customs can arbitrarily re-evaluate the worth of your goods and slam anything they like on it as duty. Happened recently to a guy who bought gold-plated jewelry from China, worth ₦40k. Customs re-evaluated the cost and slammed ₦400k on the item as duty.

It's the lawlessness and abuse that can accompany that law we are mostly speaking against because we know it will be abused! With this law, the tax body can slam any arbitrary bill on you as tax and expect you to pay 50% of the amount first before coming to the table to hear your appeal. It's like being the accuser and judge of your own case. Don't also forget politics Bro! What better way to shut down a dissent's voice than over taxing his business to kill it?
It's the issue of estimated taxation.

I could remeber when i went to go get fuel in Ogun state and some Tax officials came harrasing a fruit seller that she owes this much tax, i further challenged them by aksing if they knew how much they made before giving her estimated tax telling her she owes this or that. They taught i was some uneducated riff raff but when i challenged them further, they were embarassed.

RomanceRe: Each Time I Love A Girl So Dearly It Was End In Premium Tears For Me by zanshi: 2:25pm On Oct 12, 2021
I was on a clubhouse discussion ealier this Sunday and the topic for the day was "Why do Nigerian men, treat women from foreign countries better than Nigerian women".

Loving or being in a relationship with a black women in itself is tough, i highlighted that men want 3 things when it comes to dating.

-Women who can co-operate

-Feminine women

-Women with character.

No matter how much dominering character you have as a man; Alpha male, if you are unlucky to be with a woman who has "Zero" experience with coperating with others even down to her brothers, you can as well assume that that person is a bad deal for marriage or relationshp.

Hollywood and the main stream media has taught women to be combative and dramatic over useleess and meaningless things. And men who are easy going who have a career they are dedicated to often become a shadow of themsleves once they get into unions where the woman is combative a drama queen and you know how that goes...

There seems to be a serious character flaw in todays women also, a lot of us grew up watching romantic movies where the protagonist which was a male actor was the abusive, cheater, manipulative bloke and the woman on the other hand is it the one who is helpless and innocent. And what did men do? We worked on our self to fit into this western simp like character which says you need to bend over to please a woman and at the end of the day, a lot of men have the short end of the stick.

A lot of Nigerian men are becoming unhappy in todays union, i am not married but i have seen decent men who got married to women who were good but turned to a narcisit over night. Even down to relationship a lot of men are not dating (20-29) because relationships are now transactional in nature which kills the purpose of romance. This isn't the 1960's anymore where men told their wives to sit back at home and whatever the men earned was more than enough for the household. To function as a household in todays world, we need a 2 family income something comming from the man and the woman, because living in todays world cost a fortune even down to raising kids.

Nothern Nigeria don't know how much environmental disaster that awaits them. When i was in Adamawa state back in 2012, a large number of the population use firewood for cooking and Northern Nigeria is already an arid region to begin with. So if everyone is using firefood for fossil fuel and not replenishing it with massive tree planting you can do the math.

Back in 2017 or 2018 i believe, President Muhammadu Buhari had a summit on the environmental disaster that has befallen Lake chad and how the lake is drying up as against the expanse of water bodies it was years ago.

Fed Govt should try and reach an agreement with MNK to help quell the situation regarding security in the country.
