10kva inverter is a no no for just 4 pieces of 12volts x 200ah batteries.
Any installer who gave you that option needs to be shot @ sunset...and shot again @ sunrise if still found moving...

Its your proposed load that will determine the size of inverter you buy.
Those inverter you posted, hope you know they usually have a high idle consumption.the bigger the inverter kva, the bigger the idle consumption.
Most.hybrids hv lower idle consumption

He has a very valid point. A lot new entrants into renewable energy make a lot of mistakes by buying this useless batteries because it is cheap. Someone would have given them a quote for a solid battery,but price will make them opt for these cheap batteries mostly

If the marketer is giving you a 12v 200ah for 80k. Run for your life, these are fall back batteries that marketers give customer when you reject their original battery quote .

Due diligence is required.

To me sha solar is still affordable it depends on wat u want to power. No b everybody wan power electric iron, kettle, hot plate, ac, and the likes. Most just need sth to push light, tv, lappy etc.

I still feel uncomfortable for someone to get an installer to install a 12v system. Why? No b to follow instruction manual or online diy?

i cannot overemphasize the frustration most of us experience with dodgy hustlers

i stopped using inverters in 2014/15 because i got tired of battery whackamole. this set lasts 18 months, next set last 6 months. because they are batteries, there is no way of telling if they are used or not. all you need to do is clean them up, tweak and sell as new
and then you have the people who rebadge 100ah batteries as 200ah batteries

so yes, i think we would all like connects to reliable sellers [with caveat and disclaimer because, las las, na still naija we dey, and i have seen character vaporize on this platform]

even on nairaland the trend i have always seen is after a client is frustrated and calls out a dodgy vendor, after the issue is resolved, the thread goes down the memory hole , so the vendor is able to continue as before with another unsuspecting client

beware of fake capacity cheap panels, 90% of panels with Canadian solar stickers are fake! u can't get original jinko 340w are such price.
real capacity high quality panels are not cheap or moderate in price!

We don't have mains supply for now. Will check later when the mains supply(NEPA) is back. But I have been off grid for the pass one week now.

2. No, no bypass installed, all goes tru the inverter except the larger appliances

Hello good people, I came back home today and met my fridge not working. Checked the socket and found out that both positive and neutral have voltage on them. I traced it all the way to the inverter (Felicity ivps3524). I then disconnected both Ac output terminals from the Inverter, switch back on the inverter and both positive and neutral AC output have voltage on them.

Has anyone experienced this?

Best you go for an inv erter with editable charge voltage settings,
Luminous doesnt have that setting, so a deal breaker for me.

If its normal sealed leadacid you intend to use..you cud be fine, but if its flooded battery...then its important you get an inverter with the functionality i explained above

I seriously doubt if a client would come to a public forum like this to air his discontentment with a service if he isn't pained or incur losses or inefficiently served. Remember, at his first post, he didn't mention your name, so I think he never meant any harm to you nor your brand. He was expressing himself until you identified yourself and came to your defense.

Please NOTE, the issue here isn't about your technical competence, but a third party component which many variables can account for is the crux of the matter.

There's no installer who has done quite a number of roof works that hasn't damaged client's roof before, some times extensively. I've replaced asbestos roofing sheets for a client before.

So many of us still hold you in high esteem in the midst of all of this.

So, brother, simply APOLOGIZE to the client irrespective of how you feel and let this matter rest.

In fairness to the thread, I have not really read past posts on this issue, I know I will need to do that.

My questions are:

1.Which brands do you recommend and why?
2. What is the difference in cost between 1 and 2 above and the 3 that you recommend.
