It's done by poor northern Muslims who marry many wives and give birth to children they can't take care of. The children are sent to Islamic schools from a tender age which are being run by the state government.

Upon attaining the age of 12 and above, the females amongst them are married off to suitors old enough to be their grandfathers, while the males are left to beg, rob, steal, hussle...etc just to survive.

It would look like a horrible way to live to a southerner like you, but the northern leaders don't care. All they care about is their continuous domination as the most populated region in Nigeria. Even if 90% of that population are living in abject poverty, their leaders are less concerned. They would keep encouraging the poorest amongst them to keep producing kids. Cos more kids means more population which is a key factor for winning elections cos they'll always boast of having numerical strength and therefore can determine who would become president. An act which has continually made southern candidates crawl to them for alliance.

If not that the South aren't United I don't see any reason why we should be joined together in one country with those people.

You only ranted above. Are you aware states now have the power to generate their own electricity?

This man - Adelabu is only ranting because he fails to understand that our power problem is beyond generation but transmission and distribution. What is the excess of generating power in quantum while transmission lines lack the capacity to convey it to the end users. The late Chief Bola Ige and Babatunde Fashola once boost of achieving this feat but ended up disappointing Nigerians. We need Electrical Engineers like myself to resolve our power issues. Most of these appointed ministers lack the capacity to understand how power generation, transmission and distribution network works and as such end up achieving nothing unless they gather a sound Engineering team who will help build a roadmap to power sustainability with strong policy implementation mechanism in place.

1. Are you comparing the Niger crisis with the Ukraine war? Nigeria would be backed by a coalition of more than 10 countries. I think you should volunteer and be in the front line of action with the deployed ECOWAS soldiers. Rather writing your comment here while relaxing at home.
2. I don't understand what you mean by Russia losing ground while Ukraine is gaining ground. Are you referring to an inch a day advance in Zaporozhye by Ukraine or the meter a day Russian advance in Kharkov? BTW, I don't know what made you think Putin is regretting Ukraine.
3. Are you suggesting ECOWAS should close her eyes to unconstitutional takeover of power?
4. It's important to note that Nigeria has no probs with Niger. Nigeria only has problems with the junta occupying Niamey.
