I think Peter Obi miss the mark in this regard. Agriculture is already well developed in the North. What farmers really requires are subsidized agriculture inputs and direct government intervention to make agriculture more profitable them. The agricultural produce processing companies are just exploiting farmers in the North who are eager to sell immediately after harvest for livelihood. Government could intervene to buy directly to farmers in a way that they make fair gain and then sell at subsidized rate to end users or consumers.

The reason is what everyone stand to personally benefit instead of positive change they could bring. I think there is no credible presidential candidate accept may be Peter Obi. But alas IPOB agenda.
