Busy_body: To school you on this farming issue, when Mugabe realised decades later that Britain was not willing to comply with the land reforms under the Lancaster house Agreement, he had no choice than to forcefully eject the White farmers , but you know what the white farmers did? They destroyed every farming machinery and equipment that they could not take along with them.
Which leads you to think "why not simply buy replacements, but you know why this could not be possible? IMF made them over 100 millions of US dollars of loan Zimbabwe had borrowed, at once, which Mugabe managed to repay in just two instalment within months, whilst this same IMF wrote off similar loans made to many African Countries like Nigeria, etc. [/b]
In addition, part of the financial sanction by the IMF and World Bank also blocked all lines of credit to Zimbabwe meaning that they could only trade in cash. What this means in layman's terms is that they would now need at least enough cash piled at least 20 feet high to fill at least 20 standard sized stadium to buy just about half of the farming equipment needed to replace the ones the white farmers destroyed, now imagine how many planeload of cash is needed (speculating a bit but will come up with the actual amount of figures which will be higher once i get hold of the exchange rate of the Zim Dollars to the British pound as at that time)
And this was the reason Mugabe embarked on the quantitative easing method back then, to print larger denomination so that the bulk of physical money to be ferrried around in the acquisition of the vital tools needed for the economy to get back on its feet. He also wanted to peg the price of goods and food but it was Morgan Tsanvgirai that blocked this because he was being used as a tool and figurehead by the west. Asides this they tried to get Zimbabwe's neighbouring Countries such as South Africa to cut off electricity to Zimbabwe and tried to set up millitary base there as Zimbabwe is landlocked, but thankfully, these Countries resisted the move.
So how is he to blame for the economy when he was turned down at every angle. Do you even know that it was so bad, Companies were being threatened to be cut off if they had anything to do with Zimbabwe? And people like you just open your mouth chatting shoit about the only man in Africa who had the ball to tell the West to sling their hook wand sent them packing with there neo-colonialism poor you mugabe knew how improtant the commercial farms where and he played the card well not to mess the economy but he got a surprise from the people he lead in his party and most high post in government they wanted land after he failed to continue the $ 5000 pm compersation he promosied after he gave each war vet $50000 he used the land issue to hold on to power to bride the war vets he feared most he know what they could do to him the war vets wanted a better life the life they where promised during war and mugabe was failing by 1990 zimbabwe had already missed payments to IMF and the economy was nose diving slowly on sanctions dont even bother to explain didnt mugabe did the same on smith regime ? and zimbabwe managed with those sanctions |

You are a bloody LIAR. There was NO PART of the land resettlement deal that involved Britain sending money to the Zimbabwean government. There was a ''willing buyer willing seller'' arrangement under which the Britain and America were to buy back land from the white farmers and return to the government. It was a form of compensation of the white farmers for the redistributed land. Britain reneged on this arrangement in 1997 after less than 10% of the land had been redistributed. So learn your facts about the country you claim to come from. there was 1 the government was re settling people in what was called re settlements shchemes and irrigation schemes and many families got resettled between 1980 to 1988 2 then willing buyer willing seller which was under the lanchaster agreement get your facts right so are saying 10% was only done by labour ? who which government paid for that 10% blair or john/magret? |

Busy_body: Hmmm, never has such truer words been spoken
I have told you once that the fact that you are from Zimbabwe does not mean you know diddlysquat about the Country's economy. You are the one who needs to learn at the feet of this guy Lwandle, if you want to know the truth about your Country, and yes he is from Zimbabwe too. There are other knowledgeable folks too if you are interested in knowing more about your beloved Country. You can thank me later

Chyz*: Fck you. Take you as back to Europe. What is going on in Zimbabwe is called a Renaissance. Your white imperialistic asses keep swewing nonsense on how Mugabe was starving and bring disease to his people that you all care so deeply about but freeze the countries accounts which will add to the starvation and disease that will come from chlorea, etc. because the money to purify/clean the water is frozen. On top of that you threaten sactions on other countries who want to aid these people with relief, adding to the degradation of the people. Get out of here with that nonsense you're pushing about Mugabe you white b@stard! you dont need to insult me put your facts to me and i will tell you how it went down in zimbabwe mugabe fuked up big time 1 he sent troops to DRC when we couldnt really afford it 2 he bribed the war vets with $50 000 each inorder to stay in power 3 his paryt stole most of the money britain sent for re settelement when tony blair came to power and asked for the auditing on the money the john major government gave to his government he couldnt produce anything and tony cut off the deal 4 his government could show most results of the money that came between 1980 to 1990 |

Chyz*: Its a shame that someone would have to ask if he is a "white" or "black" zimbabwean. That comes to show you how much they let white people screw them over in their own land. I'm starting to believe that the guy is white. Zim Drill, I think the best thing to do is pack up your white asses and head back to Europe. dont be fooled by mugabe with his sweet talk he delivers nothing and each day he blames the west when he fuked up himself am black born 1976 i didnt see the liberation war but i saw what was left by the whites and what mugabe did to maintain and build but also i have seen how he has killed the economy do you know that the land that was given to people is on 99 years lease ? you cant even use the land to secure a loan at the bank, you dont own it do you know how he re settled those who worked in claimed farms? and some black people are leasing the farms back to the whites they took it from why becoz everything was corrupt not all people who got the farms are reall farmers most where subsistence farmers cant do reall commercial farming yes i want black people to have land but it has to be done properly not only to save mugabe interest to power |

silentc: My mum comes first before marriage . . . . . after I am married, my wife comes first.
Even the bible says "for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh (Ephesians 5:31) you are not using logic the thread's heading needs rephrasing its not about who comes first but who do you talk to most that you wish to have free minutes throw at you do you talk more with more mother everyday than you do with girlfriend |
Romance › Re: Who Comes First? Mum Or Girlfriend? by ZIMDRILL(m): 5:01pm On Jan 26, 2011 |
agoshofin: The dilemna here is nt cuz I speak to my babe often or I call my mum regularly, the moment there's free call wiv mother, it'll be like knowing everything going on wiv her & she wiv me, if it is a gf who my mother sparcely knows, she can just be expecting dat I call every minute, while I ve @ d back of my mind that when I had d opportunity to speak to her free 4 every wknd where she'll only pay 100naira, she declined,
my thinking is this, pick your mum cuz u don't ve an extra burden dat u ve to call regularly, moreso, she would nt need to call u again, she can just flsh u & u call, dat way she is eating the fruits of her labour already,
the gf can just bolt away d nxt day dat u did nt call her every minute despite having free airtime to call, why wasted out time then if your had our own thinking on issue |

Woke4all: In this case i will put the babe 1st because with 1500 airtime, mum would be satisfied and i believe there won't be much to talk about and secondly i won't be calling mum everytime like i would call my babe. you have my thinking the few who responded didnt see that way if your calls are more to your mum that your partner then there is a problem in a relationship |

agoshofin: Read the story!
My Girlfriend called me one day that I she wants us to do the MTN Magic number thing & I feigned that I had done it with some else, she blew up & I confessed that I just wasn't interested giving the fact that she had rejected my offer of free wknd calls on the MTN Funlink package simply because she will have to change her plan. in reply she said it was a different scenario and she wants us to do it.
The next day my mother called me & we had a long chat on phone, at the end of the chat, she said she has had of the Magic number thing and has seen someone use it and it worked, in essence it is real. She then advised that I subscribe for it and put her number as the magic number.
Now, what should I do? simple if you look at it this way the reason you choose such tarrif is to save money/minutes so the question is ? who do you call most your mum or girlfriend answer that and you have a solution to your problem |

1 the pregancy is a result of ra.pe "you wake up to find him on top of you "
2 according to law (i dont know in nigeria) thats one of the reason you can abort in a country where abortion is illegal
3 if he will marry you its not that he really loves you but he did it only becoz you carrying his child
4 what if he wants to marry you to avoid a jail term (if he marries you, you wont report the ra.pe)
5 why marry on shaddy deal like that its ra.pe though you might call it love and also betraying your friend |
Romance › Re: My Girlfriend Is Beginning To Surprise Me- Anger by ZIMDRILL(m): 2:15pm On Jan 26, 2011 |
EDIJ: Dear All, i really would like to have your opinion(s) and pieces of advice. I love my girlfriend so much and we have been dating for about a year. The relationship has been good thus far. She actually thinks i am a special person. I am not like the normal guy, i made up my mind to marry the person that will be my girlfriend. Meaning i had prayed and planned to date only once. Hence, i took my time to be very careful in choosing a girlfriend. My girlfriend is nice and very loving. I am a cool guy who could do anything for anyone i am in love with. Our relationship is long distance for now but soon we hope to be in the same city. Honestly, we have had a very nice time these past few months and she actually knows i have plans to marry her. The truth is that she even wants marriage to happen sooner than i thought. Being the only person working, i have been making most of the calls (naturally, i guess) but lately, now that she's on a scheme that allows her to make free calls to me all day, it appears she isn't disposed to calling me as often as i did afterall. Lately, i note that she is capable of getting angry easily. Although, i have always believed she's on the subtle side. Somehow, after 12 months of dating, she snapped at me for the very first time simply because i have been constantly (not intentionally) asking about the wellbeing of one of her family members with whom she's had a quarrel and with whom i would want her to reconcile, she snapped using words that suggests to me that she doesn't respect me. The question i asked did not in my mind warrant such reaction from her. I am a guy but i have never spoken like that before to her and would never imagine expressing my disapproval to her using such language. I was surprised at her reaction and she knows because i wasn't expecting her to talk to me (after all i have done for our relationship) in the manner she did considering the question i asked. Now she's been drawing back from me a little because of the episode, reason being that she didn't like the fact that i acted "surprised" when she snapped. Her arguement was that she was only expressing her feelings.
Guys, i love this girl but i am a very peace loving person. I don't like people who get angry easily and i just note that this is the only "but" in my relationship. Anytime i call after the episode, she speaks in monosyallbles. If anyone should really be angry in the circumstance, i think i should be the one and not her so i do not know why she's acting up because i was surprised that she could snap at me in the manner she did ( i mean, that would be the very first time). She hardly calls me when she says she'd call me back after i have called and we couldn't conclude on a discussion (despite that she's on a free call scheme). In one word! i feel like i am being taken for granted by a person i love so much, it hurts bad and i have also decided to withdraw a little to see what's up( i actually find this very hard to do). Please let me have your views and experiences if any. Thanks fuk her in the arse she will behave proper |
