Whether the programme was live, recorded, premiered or replayed does not change Peter Obi’s responses. Channels Television did not force him to speak vaguely. Seun Okinbaloye did not prevent him from presenting a detailed security blueprint. Editing did not remove plans that were never stated.

Unless there is evidence that his answers were materially altered, the accusation of “fraud” is merely another attempt to shift attention from the political damage caused by the interview.


Instead of answering these questions, his defenders have moved from praising the interview to attacking the interviewer, the station and the format.

That retreat alone tells the story.

The interview was not damaging because it was recorded. It was damaging because Peter Obi was exposed as unprepared, vague and blueprintless.
