Good everyone, please I need your opinion on this..My girlfriend got an admission early this month for january intake.we are planning to have our court marriage next month and apply for our visa together as couples. Will it raise any red flag at the embassy?
Just prepare enough home and economic ties.

Greetings. What’s the best age range to use a co-sponsor in your application. Is it advisable for a married man over 37 years old with 2 kids to use a sibling as co-sponsor?
Yes you can. Your SOP will do the work. Show previous commitments of your sibling to your welfare. Attach evidence. It's not out of place. My case is similar to this.

Good Afternoon
I want to ask, my uncle is my sponsor for my tuition and living expenses. Do i need to provide a form of identity of my uncle or there's no need since we bear the same surname?
Thanks
Even if your dad was your sponsor, you will still need to prove relationship with him. Yes you will need that and more

Hello good morning pls my husband got a PPR for visitors visa today that he applied since 2022 and he has applied for student visa last month but the passport he used to apply for the Visitor’s Visa will expire ending of July but he has renewed his passport already what do we do
This question has been answered severally here. Send both passports to irrc. Submit both. They will stamp the new passport that already has the passport number of the expired passport in it.
Ircc will not stamp a passport less than 6 months. So send both passports.

Good morning house.
Please I need suggestions on how to tackle refusal reasons for my uncle

He is in Canada as a visitor and we applied for a study permit for him but he got refused on two reasons;
Insufficient financial assets
Purpose of visit

Brief background
Married with four kids, wife works as a Nurse but they are not in good terms so can’t obtain any documents from her.

Course of study: Post Baccalaureate diploma in Accounting (2year program)
Tuition for the program: $29,000
Tuition deposit paid: $6500(the school said he could pay for one semester since he was in Canada, usually the deposit should be $10,000).
POF Canadian account :$13,000
POF Nigerian account: N6m
He lost his job in November last year so all funds were from savings and payout from his employer
He worked with the bank for over a decade
Educational background: BSc. Economics, MSc Public Administration.

We would like to reapply. Please how can we tackle these reasons
He practically has no home and economic ties from what you listed here hence the purpose of study. He is even in Canada on a visit visa. This is already screaming I don't even intend to return to Nigeria. This will be really hard. Due to his lack of home and economic ties(from what you listed here as he has lost his job and not in good terms with his wife), his best bet is to return to Nigeria and apply then find a good economic and home ties to attach to his reapplication

Yes you can submit more than 2 as long as you properly explain the funds and their sources in both accounts.

Good afternoon everyone, my canada student visa was refused recently because i used only a microfinance bank for my POF. I was told it can be rectified. How do i go about? Your suggestions will be highly appreciated . Thank you.
Move the funds from your microfinance bank to your regular bank and attach both statements of accts to show trail of funds transfer then also attach a letter of explanation briefly explaining this transfer.
I hope it's your gcms notes that spotted this so you will be sure that's the only issue they had with your application.
Also before submitting the reapplication, ensure you use the prevailing rate of the day. Goodluck

Thank you so much.

It didn't even occur to me to check the first page. I came here from Google.

What about medicals? When do they usually go for it? After or before applying?

Please let me know.
Some do before submission of application. That's upfront medical. With this they attach the medical sheet with the application before submission. I did this type. Some do after submission of application and later send the medical sheet via webform to ircc. This is another form of upfront. While some submit application and wait till when ircc sends a medical request. People not having luxury of time before their school resumption usually go for the first 2 options due to the difficulty and delay these days in booking appointment for medicals.

So you can choose anyone you want

Hi everyone,

Please I need help here, I want to do my international passport for the first time. Where I need help here is : I have been married for over 10 years, I have not done any change of name. That's i have been answering my father's name. So now that I want to do my international passport, what name do I use? Do I use my husband's name or continue with my father's name which is in all my school documents. But I am also going to file my husband and kids as dependants. Please, how do I go about it. Thanks
Do change of name so your hubby name will reflect on your passport. Then you can always attach change of name avidavit and news paper publication as supporting docs to all your applications

Good morning,

Hope your day goes well and thank you to everyone who contributes here.

I know I have to read past posts to get the answers I need, but please help this new mom with quick answers.

My brother got admitted to the University of Calgary and we are looking to start the study permit application. Please can you help me list what we need to submit or point me to any post that will help. We intend to do regular application.

Secondly, since I'm already in Canada, can I pay his school fees from here and send him the evidence of payment? Is it allowed to show evidence of school fees payment from a Canadian bank to the University's account? Will IRCC acknowledge it?

Thirdly, what is the typical time frame from application to PPR and passport collection?

Also, I have forgotten the medicals process. Does he need to book one after applying for his permit or before.
I think the first page of this thread will direct you to the necessary docs you will be needing.

Yes you can pay his tuition from there. All he needs is to attach his evidence of payment to his application

For time-frame, recently decisions have been coming quick. Time frame btw 2- 6 weeks. Some have gotten less than 2 weeks sef.

I have a Bsc in Political Science, and I recently got an offer for a 2year ONTARIO COLLEGE DIPLOMA in Human Resources. It’s a post secondary program, although I had earlier applied for PGC but the school gave me the post secondary diploma in Human Resource.

Please I am worried, has anyone with BSC ever gotten visa for post secondary diploma programs?
Yes
Me and many others

Good day house. I’m married with 2 kids and planning to use a sibling as a co-sponsor. I’m traveling alone and will be taking care of expenses alone while my sibling covers tuition. My program is 8 month ( 1 academic year). If living expenses plus travel expenses is $13000, what’s a good range of closing balance for me?
Also with an opening balance of around 8 million naira, should I worry about inflow and outflow?
Thank you
Using rate of 590, a closing balance of 8.5m to 9m is healthy enough

Some schools accept student copy, while some might accept student copy and mandate you to send original copy once you have enrolled as a student

Thank you, so the student has paid full first semester and the parent sold his a land that covers his full expenses. They have several properties , the father is a farmer and the mother is a business owner: so can he submit the gift of deed, the student bank statement, letter of support from his father and mother as well as their properties?
Yes. And put in his sop details of how those assets owned by his parents generate uninterrupted flow of income to the family so VO can see funding his education as a reasonable expenses.

Aissy:
Please if a parent is giving a cash to cover all expenses as a gift of deed from a land sales to a student, does the parent need to show statement of account?
You mean the whole total expenses as a lump sum?

Oh yes. They will have to show source of income as it could easily be seen as demonstrative purpose except you can possibly back it up by paying 1 full year tuition and you will also need to explain in details your parents income and other assets they have that will warrant them selling off one asset to fund your education.

Hello everyone,
Please I need some guidance.
I studied architecture for bsc but my work experience has been a bit diverse (marketing/sales, admin and archie as well) and spans over 7 years.
I looking out for a course that pays well and guarantees employment. My major worry is this - can I change career to something in IT or healthcare? Will this affect my chances to get study visa if it's not related to my previous BSc?
You can pick a course currently related to what you are doing now to improve your chances of getting the Visa approval then afterwards u can change program to IT if your school will permit that. That's your best chance.

Thanks so much for ur input bro, u are right, please how do I order for GCMS note, to know the main reasons even though time is not on my side as I am to resume September 5th this year and have August 15 as the deadline to submit visa approval to the school
You really don't have time on your side.

Heard you can order for free through This process

This is actually for GCMS notes via CBSA

- Go to Google, search ATIP
- Pick the first option from the list of results
- when the page opens, click on next
- click/mark the privacy box and click continue
- on the next page, select Canada Border Services Agency from the drop-down
- from the next drop-down, select foreign national outside of Canada
- fill out your required information in the boxes below
(Use your Nigerian address and phone number pls)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- in the comment box write a short intro and your request. Eg:
Hello/Hi
My name is SURNAME, First Second. I have applied for a study permit, my UCI is soso and my application number is soso, DOB. I would like to have the notes for my file
- then click continue
- also click continue on the next page(you don't fill anything here)
- you are taken to the final page where you review or edit your info
- check the I certify box and click continue
- you should receive a confirmation email from CBSA

So u can actually order for ur note free of charg

This period will be the best time to go for 1 year program then you can decide to extend and do a 1+1 in Canada. This POF issue isn't funny again.

She just graduated this year, yet to do her NYSC but am thinking of sponsoring her to do her master in Canada next year.
Study Gap is fine. You can fully sponsor her.
You can also use her NYSC as home ties saying she will immediately come back to Nigeria to undergo the mandatory NYSC.

Hello guys. As regards MyBankStament, will the ticket generated allow visa officer to monitor the person's account even after submission of application? Or the ticket is only valid for the ending of transactions of the day/date generated?

For example, I generated a ticket for 31st may and submit my application; and do some transactions afterwards, will they have access to subsequent transactions on 1st June?

Thank you!
The ticket only allows them see the SOA you generated. They have no access to your acct beyond what the generated SOA you sent to them

Your required POF would be

Tuition : (35,500 - 1000) = 34,500
Living Exp 10,000 * 2 years= 20,000
Miscellaneous and Trans. = 5,000

Total will be about CAD 59,500 which @ 345 = N20.5M

POF appears alright and It is okay if your mum is fully and solely sponsoring you as her child, however, you need to show her source of income and demonstrate that she will have enough funds left after sponsoring you because she and your siblings (if any) will not cease to exist because you are off to school. If she's using all she has, like you said that she sold properties, you should demonstrate that there are still so many assets she still has if the account does not have much again. Otherwise the VO will not accept it as a reasonable expense. You also need to address the other things you listed there. It is important you proof she is your mum, by attaching your birth certificate and maybe pictures.

Also, you would need to demonstrate career progression. Explain how biochemistry relates to the new course you are enrolling for.

Like I stated earlier, your GCMS notes will clearly point out the VOs concern. Sorry once again and quickly do the needful so you can refire.

Note that rates have gone up now when reapplying.
@Ultimaate I was just about to add that you will seriously need to convince the VO why they should expend 90% of proceeds of land sale on your education without stating her source of income. You will do well to explain source of income of your mum and every other points highlighted by Accessed.
Unfortunately now, POF has skyrocketed so you will be needing about 31,000,000 meaning your mum account should have about 35,000,000 in your reapplication. Very unfortunate.

Also I will suggest your mum pays part of the school fees, if possible 1 full year tuition aince you are trying to convince the VO that the proceeds of the land sale are totally available for your education and also transfer 1 year living expenses to your acct. That will make your reapplication stronger.

Does your mother have any notable source of income, if no then you have to explain in details other assets she manages and how the rental income from these assests will be enough to take care of the rest of the family most importantly.

Also hope you did justice on your future plans and economic ties to justify why an asset will be sold solely to fund your education without your sponsor having other major sources of income.

Hello everyone please I need your advice.
On 10th of June I submitted for my visa application and did my biometrics on 15th but today I got a refusal later stating I have insufficient funds but I submitted a statement of 25m proving the source of the funds from the sales of my moms property being the sponsor. Second reason for refusal i will attach a pics.
Please need your advice here and direction.
I also attached the land documents.
This is a generic response from irrc. Is Your mum a full sponsor or co sponsor? What did you do to prove sponsorship?
