So from your rotten tongue Imo is a poor state? GTFO. Good governance means if you don't have the money to build this you find a way to get it built that's sustainable and intelligent. Look at how Obi caused and educational revolution in Anambra in a way that saved him money. Stop the ignorance

This comparison is of no use. Obi finished 8 years without completing most of his projects which Obiano has continued and yet they remain uncompleted but Okorocha has done 4.5 years and has built over 250 glaringly verifiable schools. Obi did not cause any educational evolution. Anambra has always been 3rd behind Imo and Delta in University education and it is still 3rd behind Imo and Delta this 2015. WAEC this year Imo moved to 3rd behind Lagos and Edo while Anambra dropped out of top 10.

I acknowledge Peter Obi's prudence but he did that because he was in 2nd term and had full backing of Jonathan thereby suppressing opposition. For example Anambra was paying and is still paying the lowest minimum wage in all of Southern Nigeria and there is no free education. On the contrary Imo is paying the highest minimum wage and the State is equally funding free education to tertiary level. If Imo decreases its minimum wage to 11,500 and then reverse its free education policy don't you think Okorocha would have far more savings?

Okorocha is suffering from misplaced priority disorder(MPD). What's is the essence free and low standard education. Truth be told Okorocha is a showman. Imo state needs infrastructure. Good roads, electricity, water, quality education and health care( we would pay). Okorocha needs to learn governance from ME lol.

How is education low standard? Bring up statistical or infrastructural evidence. And who told you there isn't ongoing roads, electricity and health programmes? Once you hate someone you deliberately refuse to see any good even when glaring. Jonathan's case for example where it was claimed he did everything including 2nd Niger bridge for Southeast but barely 3 months after he left most of his supporters realised Southeast has the worst roads, least federal presence and there is no 2nd Niger bridge. Obasanjo is condemned by Igbos but they seem to forger Owerri-Onitsha road though it has started failing at some spots with erosion threatening 2 bridges.

The truth is that you hate the truth with all your life. You feel threatened and low esteemed even when such harsh truth is coming from your own people, more especially when the person proves to you that your state is the least in all indices of development in the SE.

Imo state has been coming first 3 in education long before now until Okorocha stepped in. Today imo state has gone to the woods educationally. It is an insult to write Anambra State that has taken over NECO, WAEC, UNITY SCHOOL etc with imo state on the same page. Anambra has held this turf for several years and up till day.

Anambra has kept representing Nigeria at the various International school debates from Singapore to Croatia to Brazil etc, where is your imo state in all of these?

Imo state pays the least in the whole of the SE and still owes its workers over 11months salary arrears. Is imo state cursed or is Okorocha the cause?

5yrs down the line there no completed project in imo state, all the roads are bad including federal and state.

Always try to accept the truth because it is even your own people that says it the way it is on ground. We all know you as a low esteemed clown who tries so much to cover the many horrors in imo state.

Forget propaganda. Anambra is even owing months of arrears despite paying the lowest in Southern Nigeria with minimum wage of 10, 000. Maybe some people aren't informed in that issue but I am. Let me buttress my assertions with evidences.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/4-years-after-enugu-ebonyi-anambra-fail-to-implement-n18000-minimum-wage/

In Anambra, it was gathered that besides N10,000 the
governor added to all the workers’ salary during a three-
week strike to force implementation, the present
government recently added 15 per cent pay rise. This also fell short of the N18.000 NMW.
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by SpaceTour: 12:50pm On Nov 22, 2015
You can fool only but yourself not anybody. Anambra pays the highest in the SE if we go by the recent increment by Obiano.

You can churn out propaganda all you want but FACT is FACT, Imo state pays the least in the whole of SE and SS, and still owes its workers over 11months salary arrears.

Vanguard reported here that imo state is bankrupt and owing the highest number of months to its workers. Okorocha recently got 26billion bailout loan still yet workers are not paid up till now.

Anambra has sat ontop of WAEC, NECO, UNITY SCHOOL etc up till now and no state not even the ordinary imo state can dare topple them from top position.

Former lawmakers and council chairmen in Imo State coming under the umbrella of Forum of former Imo House Members and Council Chairman, FIHOC, has faulted Governor Rochas Okorocha’s forceful execution of his privatization programme and alleged that the Governor was plunging Imo State into
darkness. It urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call him to order.

Describing the Imo Governor’s actions as “barbaric and incredible”, FIHOC, in a statement issued at the weekend said it was shocking to learn that in spite of public outcry against the concessioning of Imo public enterprises by the
Governor, “he has taken a step further into the abyss of dictatorship by using his Imo Security Network to forcefully eject workers from health Centres and hospitals, to enforce his privatization programme. The workers were said to be resisting his privatization of these public institutions.

The statement, which was signed by the group’s Director of Public Communications, Hon. Ray Emeana,
expressed sadness that “in spite of good counsel from concerned members of the public, including FIHOC, members of the clergy and notable public figures, against the privatization exercise, the Governor did not relent but instead went ahead to force his way through without due process.

The Free Education Programme (FEP), being executed or implemented in Imo State by the Owelle Rochas Okorocha's Rescue Mission Administration, is yet to impact positively in the results of external examinations such as SSCE, GCE, JAMB/UTME or Nigeria Law Schools.

The recently released WAEC 2015 results recently released after the May/June 2015 examinations show that Imo State which used to claim top position in brilliant performances is regrettably struggling with the well known educationally disadvantaged states of Kaduna, Kwara and Ebonyi. Perhaps the nomadic education invented for the almajiris and cattle rustlers would be domesticated in Imo to improve education which used to be our biggest industry

A breakdown of the result shows that Anambra state which used to envy the academic exploits of Imo state candidates in WAEC, GCE or UTME, came top of those states whose candidates secured up to 5 credits with Abia even garnering up to 58.52% passes. Other states that met with this acceptable above average record include Rivers, Abia, Enugu, Edo and even Bayelsa. Imo state trailed behind with a paltry 40.64% just as Delta, Ebonyi and Kaduna States which were often rated educationally disadvantaged states.
This poor academic records have remained so, for close to four years and worse still, with the introduction of the free education in the state. It is therefore the contention in several quarters that the policy is either counter-productive or that the implementation is haphazardly done. There is no excuse yet for this deplorable state of education in Imo state except that the teachers who ought to take their teaching job seriously, instead prefer to massage the ego of the Governor
. They are probably busy keeping him company at the various stadia, Hero, Bongo and IICC squares and roundabouts scattered all over Imo State or that they seem to have forgotten that their duty is in the classrooms and not at the Bongo and Hero Squares. One was tempted to accuse the teachers of deliberately sabotaging the policy so that payment of fees, levies, brooms and contributions of toilet tissues and soap, will be re-introduced in our educational system. If not there is no reason for the sustenance of this poor, falling standard of education.
While a school of thought had attempted to place the reason for the dwindling fortunes of education in Imo State on the doorsteps of the missions or the churches led by Arch Bishops A.J.V. Obinna and Cyril Okorocha who have successfully persuaded the government of Imo State to release and surrender key secondary schools, to them such as Owerri Girls, Holy Ghost College and Holy Rosary Secondary School, among others, others believe the government of Okorocha must take all the blames for luring teachers out of classrooms for frivolities.
Nevertheless, the Mission Schools in Imo State have therefore not even justified the decision to hand over schools to them. And that is why the Imo public are of the views that if the public schools are not demonstrating enough brilliance in UTME, WAEC/GCE or NECO, why not the private schools do? It was realized however that at a time the government is offering free education from primary to the tertiary schools, the Mission schools, besides imposing exorbitant fees and levies, cannot employ experienced teachers hence their products are even worse than those of government schools in Imo state. This is because nobody offers any knowledge that he or she does not possess. “You don't give out what you do not have”, they averred.
Going by the explanation given by the Principal of the Mercy School of Nursing, Umulogho in Obowo LGA, who has transformed the school into a model citadel of learning and intellectualism, and the best in Nigeria, “that the Reverend Fathers are more interested in controlling mission schools not just to improve the academic records but to fester immoral attributes”, one can also lay the blame for poor quality standard of education at the doorsteps of the religious leaders who are not disciplined, nor do they exhibit any commendable moral rectitude. However, when the situation is juxtaposed with the trend in the State University (IMSU), which has not shown signs of academic recovery, then the Imo State Government must face the obvious challenge of improving the standard, or hide its face in shame for consolidating on the poor quality of academic records through WAEC results, for four years now.
For now, Imo State University has lost accreditation in Law, all departments in the faculty of Education. At present, there is no single newspaper or newsletter that is being produced by the Mass Communication Department of IMSU. Equally, the English Language/Linguistic department is at the brink of being de-accreditated. The reason is not far-fetched, there is no functional library. Gone were years of academic excellence at IMSU. The situation on ground today makes it difficult, if not impossible for anyone to believe or accept the fact that IMSU was once the number one university in Nigeria. For instance, between 1998 and 1999 under Prof. T.N. Ndubuizu, IMSU was among the best rated, and came first in the accreditation assessment among state universities. At the same time, IMSU was the 10th best universities in Nigeria under Ndubuizu. Curiously the result of this accreditation assessment according to sources in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, was not released officially by NUC until Prof. Ndubuizu vacated office for Prof. Anthony Anwuka in the early 2000s when Achike Udenwa retired and replaced him. The same sources are very bitter that Prof. Anwuka has continued to appropriate or take credit for that outstanding academic feat and parades as the best Vice-Chancellor IMSU has ever had even with the government white paper that indicted and accused him of inventing, domesticating and institutionalizing corruption in the state university. Besides, between 2006/2007 during the Prof. Chuka Okonkwo regime, IMSU was equally rated the 9th best university in Nigeria, an absolute improvement from the T.N. Ndubuizu records of 1998/1999 accreditation assessment. It also retained the first position among state universities and first among the Regional Universities in the South East against UNN that lost accreditation then. During the period under review, IMSU also earned accreditation to run the various courses in Medicine and Surgery while the Dental Council of Nigeria approved all their courses.
Unfortunately, with the Free Education mantra of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, IMSU, you will not believe, is the 153th university in Nigeria. Observers of the unfolding scenario describe this as shameful and a big disgrace to the state government.

That shows how tolerant Okorocha is. Now that he is in ruling party no usu get mouth. If concessioning will improve the paradtatals and reduce financial burden on Government then it should be encouraged.

I also asked earlier, where is your imo state when federal government chose Anambra State to represent Nigeria at the international school debates from Singapore to Croatia to Brazil etc. It is only an educationally reliable and vibrant state that is given such priority.

Keep churning out propaganda. LOL

Here........

Abagworo read on.......

There is no excuse yet for this deplorable state of education in Imo state except that the teachers who ought to take their teaching job seriously, instead prefer to massage the ego of the Governor.

This is the education revolution.

http://www.gistpost.com/2015/10/increased-ANSU-students-school-fess.html?m=1

ANSU will be able to charge tuition fees of up to N251,300
per year from 2015/2016 academic session, as the state
government transfers much of the cost of running the
university to students.
The increase tuition fees at ANSU is making me think hard
about whether the university was the right route for average
Anambrarian or to kill off students. I am an alumnus of
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University formerly
Anambra State University. I knew what I paid through to
graduate.
I know of two things that can cause tuition fees of college
or university to increase.
1. The university spends more - paying faculty more, or
building more infrastructures, or conducting more research
-- whatever the reason, spending rises and all will boil
down on the students and their families.
2 If the state government in this case cut subsidies
university (rather than, say, cut spending or solicit alumni
donations) to make up the difference.
My fear then is that the outcome of such high fees will be to
damage participation and social mobility among students.
Medical Students will pay N251,300 as against 156K they
paid last session, Law N186,950 previous N136K,
Professional/science based courses N136,950, Non-
professional Courses, N126,950.
Now, why would a government who clamour and profess
love for education make it almost impossible for his
subjects to acquire the basic education even when it is one
of the fundamental human rights?
Who can students turn to? What can students turn to? When
faced with difficulties like this one, Students will end up
turning to the vices/embracing the vices. Oh no no ...

Visit IMSU permanent site and you will be amazed. By the time it is unveiled you and your likes will be shaken. Meanwhile we built ABSU and it was inherited by Abia. It is one of the finest schools in Nigeria.

This clearly shows that Rochas is a fraud.

We are talking about primary and secondary health centres.
These projects were budgeted for, what happened midway?
Perhaps he never had any intention of completing these projects.

Meanwhile he has money to be stacking rocks at every roundabout in the name of fountain.
He is the worst case of misplaced priorities or should I say fraudulent window dressing while the rot eats deeper.

We appreciate when you show the good side of the govt but you shouldn't shy away from showing its wrong doings.

My guy, I am from Imo State. I do not live in Imo but I visit Imo state every week. You see ihe agba na aka ejighi ugegbe ele ya. Try these roads: Awo idemmili to Orlu, Orlu to Anara, Anara to Umuahia,Mgbidi to Orlu, These are the ones I use always.

But it seems Rocha Okoro ran for governorship purposely to cripple economic activities in Orlu, as he destroyed existing roads and other social infrastructures in Orlu, and refuses to repair the remaining ones as they crumble.

Even though Rocha not from Orlu, about 40% of population in Orlu is Ideato people. Can't he do something about the decadence because of his brethren?
