Take Allah beg IMSG.

Let this Orlu to Nkwerre road not end up in scratch and abandon. The road is not too bad for now.

Too bad if IMSG scratches and abandons this Orlu-Nkwerre road like it did to lots of roads in Orlu town since 2012, like:

1, Old Owerri road,

2 Road from Tesac to St. Josephs Catholic Church,

3, Morning Star Girls secondary school road,

4, Road from St Josephs Church to International market,

5, Road from Orlu Lg Hqtrs to Carrot Junction, and many other roads in Orlu.

Okorocha govt hardly puts four months to complete and street light roads started in Owerri.

Roads scratched and abandoned in Orlu, Okorocha tells people that contractors ate the money. But contractors don't eat the money and abandon road works in Owerri.

In 2012, Okorocha said he would put N50 billion in building Orlu City. Till today, Ihioma road to Banana junction, Owus Avenue, Bank road and Ilobi street - total of about 5km - are roads of Okorocha govt in Orlu central.

Instead of destroying this Orlu to Nkwerre road, let them leave it. People outside Okorocha and Nwosu's dream Owerri Metropolitan Mega City have resigned to looking forward to a new govt in 2019.

Here is Owelle in Dec 2010 campaign angry over why former Imo state leaders did not establish anything in Orlu, but thankful that the former governor from Orlu established the Imo state University Teaching Hospital in Orlu.

In 2016, here is a link where Owelle set up a Committee headed by Speaker of Imo House of Assembly to relocate Imo state University Teaching Hospital to Owerri. All because of Owelle to have a soft-landing for his private business interest in a private Eastern Palm university in his town.

Please can people around Okorocha advice him that good architectural buildings don't cost much. Why is he bent on littering Imo state with ugly substandard looking buildings. Just imagine how Owerri will look like if Okorocha's building projects look something like the picture below.

Flat roofed buildings don't survive our rainy climate in the South. Many flat buildings have been roofed after a few years and one of such is Rochas Okorocha's own office at Owerri. As for the green roofs and golden brown colour for Government buildings it's nothing but a colour he and his team agreed on to distinguish their projects. He was asked that question once and I watched the interview. Carefully observe all the public buildings and notice what I wrote. This includes schools and more.

Yes climate sometimes determine the type of roofs use in particular regions, but the problem we have the most are bad architectures. There is so many ways of designing flat roof that will stand any weather condition. Just look at the building below.

Landscaping of Owerri roads with palm trees and other trees is urgently needed.

Imo should do the needful in the coming rainy season and massively plant trees along major roads and government buildings.

Not only government house deserves landscaping.

Landscaping of this university will go a long way to making it a conducive learning environment.

A good environment isn't just about buildings. It is also about how beautifully serene the trees and flowers blend with the buildings. It's even more important for universities.

I commend Okorocha on this one, this is how it suppose to be. I wish it will be the norm all around the state and let him make a law that will outlaw open drainage unless when necessary.

If you've gone round Nigeria you should have known that Owerri has the most greenery amongst all cities. The old Owerri is where serious works on road expansion is ongoing but is likely not going to be green because of the dense population. You can literally play football match on grasses adoring many roads in Owerri. No be joke.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Imo State, Imo State, Hon (Mrs) Josephine Ugorji has revealed that she magnanimously relinquished the ongoing rural roads construction project in Ideato North Council Area to indigenous contractors in order to compliment the “job, job” mantra initiated by governor Rochas Okorocha led rescue mission administration in Imo State.
Inspecting some of the roads last weekend, Hon Udorji disclosed that Imo State Government approved construction of Thirty three (33km) rural roads in Ideato North LGA at contract worth of over two billion naira. She noted that she distanced herself from handling the contract despite that she hails from the council area, but however allowed the contract to be handled by indigenes as part of empowerment scheme to her people.
The works and transport commissioner commended the executive governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for giving her a platform to showcase her wealth of experiences. “I thank God for the opportunity given to me by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to be part of this success story. My promise to Imolites when I was appointed the Works and Transport Commissioner was that I am going to fix the roads, make them motorable. Today, we have been able to fix all the dilapidated roads. I have received recommendations from the governor and SGI. I am doing my best by the special grace of God. His Excellency graciously approved 33km of roads with drainage.
As the commissioner for works and transport and daughter of the soil, I have handed over the contract to the contractors. This is simultaneously ongoing in seven different locations in Ideato North. My joy is that all these contracts are given to sons and daughters of Ideato North. This is inline with “job, job” of the current rescue mission government. It is a kind of empowerment scheme. Everybody cannot benefit from white cola job at the same time. Nobody outside this council area is eligible to handle any of these road contracts unless there is need to consult experts who will come from my ministry”, She said. The woman commissioner added that the projects will be soon completed so as to avert construction constraints associate with rainy season.
Speaking to newsmen, one of the contractors and Imo State organizing secretary of All Progressive Congress (APC) Hon Chief Clement Anozie (Omeremba of Akaokwa) said, “We have road construction revolution in Ideato North under the supervision of Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport. We have over 33km of roads with drainages to be tarred in Ideato North. And I am happy to be one of the contractors. I have contract of 4km of road to be completed in the next few months. This has never happened in the Ideato nation. This is under the guardian of Works and Transport Commissioner. Ideato people should thank Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Hon Josephine Udorji is our leader in this local government area”.
Another contractor, Hon Chukwuemeka Eze who is handling Osina Obodoukwu road described Governor Rochas Okorocha as a special governor for approving billions of naira for construction of rural roads.
Hon Eze who is the State Development Council coordinator of Osina Ward and also a contractor with Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) noted that he will showcase his wealth of experience which he acquired from the federal ministry of works. “I will complete this contract in the next two weeks. I want to show my people what I can do. I have handled many contracts ranging from last three decades” the SDC coordinator said.

Dude, unlike you, i have lived in Owerri. Many Nigerian cities don't take planting flowers and trees seriously. But, Owerri in particular doesn't need to emulate the wrong examples. Owerri should emulate Abuja at the barest minimum.

None of the roads in Owerri have trees in the median. From Douglas, Orlu, Weatheral, Sam Mbakwe, Egbu roads etc NONE.

Cities as Enugu Uyo, Calabar are trying in this regard. But, they need not be copied by Owerr because they are nowhere near what is acceptable and Imo can do much better. No reason why Owerri cannot surpass these places in serenity and conducive environment with tree lined roads as Owerri aspires to become the holidays destination of West Africa.

Owerri should closely copy how cities like Kigali used flowers on all their major roads and roundabouts to transform their environment.

So Gov Okorocha builds drainage systems outside New Owerri?

Citizens in Orlu urban now contribute money to build their gutters.

St Joseph's Catholic Church and many houses at the centre of Orlu are sinking.
------Because Urban drainage system started by former Gov. Ikwechegh in Orlu remains undone.

People from the Ideators make up nearly 30% of the 450,000 population of Orlu urban local government area.

Any punishment governor Okorocha is inflicting upon Orlu also goes against his Ideator people
