Dude, unlike you, i have lived in Owerri. Many Nigerian cities don't take planting flowers and trees seriously. But, Owerri in particular doesn't need to emulate the wrong examples. Owerri should emulate Abuja at the barest minimum.

None of the roads in Owerri have trees in the median. From Douglas, Orlu, Weatheral, Sam Mbakwe, Egbu roads etc NONE.

Cities as Enugu Uyo, Calabar are trying in this regard. But, they need not be copied by Owerr because they are nowhere near what is acceptable and Imo can do much better. No reason why Owerri cannot surpass these places in serenity and conducive environment with tree lined roads as Owerri aspires to become the holidays destination of West Africa.

Owerri should closely copy how cities like Kigali used flowers on all their major roads and roundabouts to transform their environment.

You've never lived in Owerri or you lived there in the 90s when Owerri was limited to the roads you mentioned if you wrote that. People from Abuja marvel at the level of greenery. Even returnees from advanced countries. This Akachi Road is the type of greenery in other cities
.

but Owerri has dozens of road with football field size medians adored with trees, grasses and flowers.

Imo state University Teaching Hospital, (IMSUTH) Orlu.

Road leading to IMSUTH as in last five years.

ORO builds new campuses of Imo state University in Okigwe and Mbaise, but has been planning for years to take IMSUTH to Owerri

Why? He wants real palaver?

No body in Orlu wants any Faculty of Education or whatever, of IMSU in orlu in place of the College of Medicine and Teaching Hospital already specified for Orlu.

Eastern Palm University is bigger than IMSU and is a full fledged tertiary multi faculty institution. Imo Poly has Orlu Campus built by Okorocha and he equally upgraded the poultry farm built by Udenwa as a teaching hospital by erecting befitting structures. Chino has been posting photos of what Udenwa built and you can compare it with what IMSUTH looks like today. It is same for IMSU which was like a glorified secondary school as at 2011. Visit IMSU today and see the difference.

Eastern Palm University is a private institution.

Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, and many other state university teaching hospitals started with smaller infrastructures than that of IMSUTH; they are in towns less populated than Orlu.

How come ORO told local chiefs and his political boot-lickers in Orlu that IMSUTH is not viable in Orlu, and set up a committee to take IMSUTH to Owerri?

You know the truth: ORO has humiliated Orlu with his govt power, too much. Let him detach his Eastern Palm University from IMSU and IMSUTH.

When did beer parlour stories become basis for arguments? I won't engage in argument based on figments of your own imagination but I believe IMSUTH was poorly sited and the structures non-befitting. It was a political gimmick building poultry farm and calling it teaching hospital to claim you did something. The teaching hospital can be moved to a site along Orlu-Owerri road for easy accessibility maybe around that New Stadium and International Secondary School area.

Friend, let govt repair the about 500 meters road from Old Orlu-Owerri Road (Car Wash Junction) to IMSUTH, repair the remaining part of old Orlu-Owerri road from Car Wash Junction to New Oweri Road, instead of your weird suggestion to move IMSUTH to New Orlu-Owerri Road, in the same Orlu.

NB, IMSUTH prospered, was getting Referrals from FMC Owerri, it was frequented by patients from Owerri when the road leading to IMSUTH was okay. When Okorochal hatched his plan and blatantly refused to asphalt these roads leading to IMSUTH, after scrapping most of the roads, even people living in Orlu could not swim through the various pools of water to get to IMSUTH. This has lasted since 2012.

This is Amaigbo road end of the road leading to IMSUTH Orlu in the last five years. During the rainy season, hardly any vehicle passes the road.

After five years, the less than 1km road was deliberately abandoned by Okorocha govt, ORO told local chiefs that IMSUTH is not viable in Orlu,

if what you said here and the evidence shown on the picture is true, it means that Rochas is getting it wrong here. I like Rochas and the way he's trying to turn Imo the pride of Ndigbo more especially Owerri but can't support him when he's deliberately frustrating the progress of Imsth just because he was not the person that initiated it.

African men with wrong political ideology. He should expand the school and make it more viable, and in future the credit will be given to him.

But is it true that he built school of health technology in Orlu?

Photos don't lie. To verify, go to Orlu with a camera, like you did about three years ago.
Interview people.

FYI, IMSUTH students demonstrated twice in four years for ORO to repair the 1km road that leads to IMSUTH. ORO in five years refused to repair the 1km road to IMSUTH.

Ogboko is part of Orlu Urban. It's just that erosion prone land that separates them.

Somehow you betrayed yourself with the pictures showing that he replicated those schools everywhere. I can remember where you lied earlier that he built them only in Owerri. I can spot his Ogboko castle on the 1st photo.

Ogboko is not part of Orlu Urban. Ogboko is in Ideato South Lga. A big hill and distance of about 10km separates Ogboko from Orlu Urban lga.

Don't tell convenient lies to suit ORO's purpose to trade IMSUTH with Owerri for his Eastern Palm Uni., Ogboko.

Did you not hear ORO tell officers of the National Universities Commission last year that Eastern Palm University was his 12 years dream come true?

IMSUTH is part of IMSU, has no connection with Eastern Palm University.

In a bid to refute me you've once again admitted that the dual carriageway from Orlu town to Ogboko is more than 10 km. Sometimes arguments force out the truth from liars. That big hill is an erosion prone forest that caves in at the slightest exposure. It runs through many parts of Igboland. From this google earth shot one can clearly see that everywhere but that hill is built up. The hill is marked in red and the area marked with a yellow line is Ogboko town.

Due to massive erosion associated with it, the Orlu-Akokwa road through Ogboko failed for many years, until governor Udenwa era when the road was reconstructed. The floods come all the way from Orlu down the hill.

Ex-governor Amadi Ikwechegh took a study of the topography of the area and awarded a drainage contract to an Israeli construction company, Technoconstruct, to build a drainage duct into a river in Orlu.

Udenwa failed to complete the drainage project.

Okorocha came. Has refused so far to complete the drainage. Once in a while he mentions that he is yet to complete the drainage at Orlu.

The dual carriage way from Orlu to Akokwa via Ogboko, it is a question of a few years more before floods act on it if the Ikwechegh drainage duct from St Joseph's Catholic church, Umuna to Ogidi Stream is not completed.

ORO govt builds roads in undeveloped farm areas in Owerri to connect with developed plots.

If ORO govt builds two to three roads through the hills between Orlu and ideato/Ogboko, the lands of the hills shall appreciate in value, developers shall within two to three years build houses that can join Orlu and Ideato/Ogboko.

But Okorocha pitched himself in a fight against Orlu, his fight has seriously affected his psyche to the extent of doing the most unusual thing - concentrate every modern infrastructure of his government in Owerri. And no body, as you can observe, except indigenes of Owerri, gives him plaudits for his Owerri Mega City dream project.

Rochas Okorocha has built dual carriageways from Owerri to Orlu and several within Orlu town and another from Orlu to Urualla and presently another is to kick off from Orlu to Nkwerre. In addition to these he has built 15km of rural roads in all the LGAs and is presently building another 33km in Ideato North alone. No Governor can equal that record in the next 50 years in addition to free education from primary to tertiary level.

In bold: how could a normal person have written that no person can equal a record in the next 50 years? Are you God?

1, Gov. Okorocha concentrates more than 96% of his development projects in Owerri - that's wrong.

2, Okorocha's latest attempt to finally strip Orlu bare through setting up a committee to remove IMSUTH, the only major project of govt in Orlu, it is like Okorocha finally declaring a full scale war against Orlu. If he goes ahead, he will be the major loser at the end.
