i think u are wrong, Taraba has lyk 50 50 xtains to muslims or even more xtains self. Many ppl frm d south do think dat every state in d north are muslims nt knowin d state dat has 90 percent muslims are kano, jigawa, katsina, zamfara, sokoto and maybe Yobe. Kaduna is 50 50. Plateau has more xtains lyk 80 percent. Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Nassarawa, Niger, Kogi and kwara has lyk muslim to xtain populatn of 60 to 40 percent.

CIAO

Oh! Didnt see this.

I know that Kaduna is like 50-50, and that Gombe, Nassarawa, Niger, Kogi and Kwara have significant Christian minorities BUT I never knew that there could be up to 40% Christians in Borno( are you sure about that)? I also heard tat Adamawa is like 50-50?

We need to know much about our selves in Nigeria o. Wile I was serving in the West, I realized that there were almost same no of Yoruba Christians and Muslims and a small no of Traditionalist( actually most of them are so mixed you dont know who is who, lol), ditto Edo north. Its a pity we dont do History any longer in our shools( and is no secret that most Nigerian youths dont really read) that we are so ignorant even of ourselves.

If we dont know anything about ourselves, how do we understand ourselves; if we dont understand ourselves, how do we have PEACE amongst ourselves.

Dont want to derail this thread but maybe you may consider opening a thread on this sometime so you can 'teach' me more about the north away from all the negatives we hear; I promise to 'teach' you want I know about the south. Others may then join in if they wish.

u can be right, i hav frnd dat serve in taraba also in 2010, dey told me d state is notin to write home about. Dat d state money is only among d gov and his cronies, no major infractructures in d capital Jalingo ma self. D jalingo is lyk a glorified village.

Then its such a shame. Why then did they 'people' vote him again? Didnt they learn their lesson the 1st time around?

Plane Crash: Suntai survives, in critical condition

Contrary to earlier reports that the Taraba State governor, Danbaba Sutai died from a plane crash in Yola, Thursday, Vanguard can confirm that he is alive but in critical condition.

Secretary to the Taraba State Government, Ambassador Emmanuel Njiwah confirmed that Suntai was one of the survivors of an air crash in Yola Airport but however, said the governor was in critical condition in a specialist hospital in the Adamawa state capital.

Also, the Special Assistant to the Aviation Minister, Mr. Joe Obi, issued a terse statement on the incident claiming that nobody died in the air crash.

According to Obi, the incident involved a Cessna 208 aircraft marked 5N-BMJ with six persons on board.

The aircraft, which was piloted by the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, reportedly left Jalingo, the Taraba State capital at about 5: 20 pm, but lost contact with the Yola Control Tower 38 miles to landing.

The spokesman said the pilot’s attempt to raise the aircraft, failed.

Obi said search and rescue was immediately activated and the site of the incident located with all the victims alive but with various degree of injuries.

ayandee: What empathy would one show for a thiefing governor? I served in Taraba state and i can confirm to you that it's a very poor state. The level of poverty there is startling. The roads are terrible. You can imagine driving nine hours within a state on a trip that shouldn't take 4hrs cos of bad road. Only 3 local govt areas had electricity- Takum, some parts of Donga and Wukari. The rest had no poles meaning no hope of electricity in sight. No portable drinking water except for sachet water 'imported' from neighbouring states. We would wake up at 4am and walk miles to get water for laundry. The few schools available lacked teachers. Even Jalingo the capital has no infrastructure except for the bank buildings adorning it. I can go on and on.
Will you stop posting rubbish on this thread. Which year did you serve in Taraba and when was the last time you were there? Why dont you come back to the state and see how things have changed courtesy of Danbaba. I will list his achievements if you will be humble enough to accept, mind you I am not from the state.

in Borno, there may be up to 40 percent xtains cos almost all d tribe in borno has xtains among dem, it is only shuwa arabs dat u will find it difficult to get a xtains. I have many frnds frm borno(kanuri, babur, etc) dat are xtains. Borno, taraba, nassarawa, kogi, Adamwa some part of bauchi and Gombe do have religion tolerant lyk d Yorubas in which in a family u will find mixture of muslims, xtains and traditionalists and inwhich u dey convert to any1 dey lyk witout disturbance unlike in states lyk kano, jigawa, zamfara, sokoto. In kano too, there are very few indigene xtains too bt dey hav been toooooo marginalised, u will get dem at d outskirts of kano like chiromawa, dogowa and others. I even have a very gud frnd who is a kano indigene devout xtain(catholic) bt u will nt knw frm his name.

U are right abt learnin frm each other, i nw abt all dis cos i was bred in north(kano) and being liberal as i am, i hav many northern xtains as frnds.

Do u knw some ppl never knew dat there are muslims indigene of states lyk Edo, delta.

Adamwa too has lyk 50 50 musilms too xtains.

Once again, I hope these people know the difference between a small airplane and a private jet. There are small airplanes (propeller driven) that are priced within the same range as luxury cars. Meaning if you can afford a luxury car, you can afford a small airplane.

Things have changed indeed. That's why the governor finds solace in the acquisition of jets and choppers cos he knows the poor state of the roads. That's why he had to learn how to fly by all means to be able to cover even the shortest distance. As a matter of fact, my neighbour who just concluded her service in Taraba (Kurunmi to be precise) this year also complained of lack of infrastructure. Stop shielding corrupt people.

Well I was under the impression that d 2011 elections were substantially reflective of what people actuali votd, at least here in d south. All d governors that won their electns in d south did so in reality except perhaps in Delta...maybe d oppositn in Taraba was not very organisd or strong, so maybe the 'people' didnt hv much of a choice(alternative), plus d incumbency factor of course

I was tempted to think these thoughts but at the end of the day he is still human. undecided or is he .

Word is he takes loans for his state which is on the brink of bankruptcy but flies himself around in a private jet, which has finally almost cost his life. the greed of the PDP is quite ridiculous. They steal and the money eventually kills them, or turns their kids to useless non entities who keep disgracing their parents through learned kleptomania. cool. His convoy over this flying matter has killed someone before. I have very very little feeling of pity for the guy.

I want you to start this new thinking.

- The people that live miserable lives and die young because of his looting are humans.

- The average life expectancy in Nigeria is 49 years old. That is the average. Trust me it is higher in Lagos, it is places like Taraba that drag the average down. Because of fucktards like these who want to fly planes and live in mansions, the average life expectancy in Taraba is likely to be below 43. That is, thousands die in their prime every year because of this kind of looters. This human is destroying lives and deserves no pity or mercy!

- Think from the point of if you were unlucky to be in the shoes of those in his state and not lucky to be born in a more affluent family where you can learn to use computers. Your life will end around 43 because of some selfish, heartless, half-literate baaaaaaaaaaaaasstard!

tekute4all: UPDATE: Gov Danbaba Suntai Survives Plane Crash, Hospitalised. the governor will be flown out of the country tomorrow, for treatment.  No life was lost in the crash, aviation authorities say. The accident involved a small aircraft, said to be the Governor’s private jet. The plane was piloted by the Governor and two of his security aides were with him in the plane when the crash occurred.

51-year-old Governor Danbaba Suntai became the Governor of the State in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011. Suntai, a licensed pilot was particularly known for his love for flying aircraft by himself. Before he got to power, his state had two planes which were parked at the Kaduna airport. When he became Governor, Suntai added two to the fleet, he also bought a helicopter in May with which he made short distance journeys. A helipad was built inside the Government House in Jalingo.

The former Deputy Governor was impeached about three weeks ago and a new Deputy Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar was  sworn-in on October 5.

As usual! They will head to places where the leaders actually do their job and do not steal to fly private jet to utilise the utilities their competence offers.

While if a Taraban has Typhoid fever, he would die because of the mortuary these arsseholes gives them as hospital.

While the person citizens then celebrate them: https://www.nairaland.com/1077961/best-first-lady-nigeria-ever

onatisi: i think it is time we start taking this guy called tb joshua serious , he predicted this event twice and we all called him a bluff

A prophet is not recognized at home.It is one of the most tragic yet true aspect of human nature. Apart from his accurate predictions and powerful prayers in the name of Jesus that brings about miracles,Pastor TB Joshua is a true anointed servant of God. He believes in practical Christianity by doing good and donating all he has to people in need. Because Nigeria is in such strangle hold of satan, people still read ulterior motive to his outstanding generosity. This is the only Pastor that does not discriminate against people based on their religion, physical deformity or ethnic origin. I don't know, but one thing i know is that Pastor TB Joshua is a true servant of the Almighty God. Those who have ears, let them hear.
