One of the two men is already lying on the floor, dead, a two feet dagger up his rectum. The other one, sizes me up, chanting some sort of prayer to himself.

I smile in reply to the suggestion. I stand and focus all my attention on the masked lunatic and I speak to him from the bowels of my heart.

And then she speaks

I walk up to the man with the Hat. I tap him on his shoulders a couple of times

He opens his eyes suddenly, jerking himself awake. As if he had been expecting my touch but was still surprised by it, too surprised.
There is fear in his eyes along with cluelessness, a lot of cluelessness. I try to calm him.
“Wait! I …….”,
But he doesn’t wait for me to speak, he immediately places one hand on the top of his hat, hitting it twice on the rims.
I sense something in the room, I sense something appear, I sense a power arrive.
I open my eyes wider at the man in the Hat.
“What did you just do?”
Before I know what’s happening a hand grabs me by the shoulder, squeezing down, I can feel my scapula creak under the hold, he holds on tighter, I fall lower, he doesn’t let go and then he flings me aback.

I hit my back on the solid hard wall!
Shouts emanate from outside the room, on the other side of a big and magnificent door.

And then there was the muscle, this dude is as big as Batista, the wrestler. In his right hand was a spear, in his left, a net, a fishing net with sinkers and all.

The door is being pushed and hit, someone or someones is trying to get inside, most likely to rescue the man in the Hat and his wife, who is still asleep in the corner, oblivious as to what’s going on.
The man, the one in charms, the charmed-man, he points one hand at the door, the hand with the net, and the banging stops outside, just like that. It was just utter quiet now, he is powerful, I know.
“Will…..will u not wait lemme go out?”, asks the man in the hat, fearful and clueless.
“No! I want make u see as Otueke-Kalabari dey do him thing! I want make u feel as I go skin am alive!”, the charmed man says, beaming with energy of storms and strength.
I raise my right hand to the ceiling to call forth my black club. But as I raise it, the charmed man, he flings his net over me.
Damn! The net is so heavy, I cant hold my knees up, I fall, tumbling to the ground.
Garri! Its been too long since I tasted it! Garri! I need more power!
The net covering my body, every inch of it. I push harder, trying to rise, but the net gets heavier with every attempt.
The charmed man stand over me, smiling.

Who the hell is Otukkala or whatever he’s saying? No time to think!
He raises his spear as he says those words, as he raises it now I understand, Na him! He is the Otueke-Kalabari, the Water God Of death, the Ares of the Delta.
I am not ready to go down yet, not this easily, not now. As I make to rise, seeping power from within.
CHHEEEEKKKK!!
He sticks the spear in my bum, my left cheek to be exact.
“Ouch!!”, that is all I can mutter.
“Yes! Na so Otueke-Kalabari dey do! Him dey taste the softness of yansh first! But you no get! Na bone full there! Oya na to finish you remain!”
I look up at his retracted spear. He releases.
TWEEAAAKK!!
Right above the nose! I fall to the ground, lifeless or maybe not!
I seem to be in a form of deep slumber, the voice within me, it has awakened.
“Wake up! Use the power within! The power within!”, it kept saying.
“Draw power from within!”
My eyelids fling open, I am stained with blood but I do not care, I do not feel the pain. Power within! I have watched American films, when they say power within they usually mean the heart.
So I place one hand to my chest and attempt to draw power from it. Nothing happens! Absolutely nothing!
The Otueke-Kalabari turns around to catch me still awake, he frowns, then growls.
“I sabi ur type! Na to cut off ur ogor remain!”, he says as he choreographs his empty hands in the air, suddenly a sword of ice, glittering in the bedroom light appears out of nowhere, well! Out of the air actually.
He comes closer. I touch my chest once more, no power.
Power within!
Yes! Now I know what the voice meant!
I put one hand in my crotch, inside my boxers, grabbing my Joystick.
