Manuelcrc:

abi o... babangida tried to mass-sack lecturers but he failed. This simply shows FG is out of its depth

I don't know why it is difficult for some of you to make logical deductions.

Why did the military fail against ASUU?

1) The had the support of Nigerians.
2) ASUU was united in it's fight against the military.
3)They had the support of students too and the military was seen as the oppressive party.

Why will GEJ's ultimatum succeed?

1) ASUU has lost the sympathy of Nigerians.
2) ASUU as a union is divided into several factions now and the government took advantage of that opportunity.
3)They have lost the support of the students and ASUU is being viewed as the oppressive party here.

omenka: Lie from the pit of hell!!! I watched the press conference and at no point did wike make any statement that suggests he was echoing the decision of anyone but the fed govt. They have realized their tactic of using threats wouldnt work and wanna blame the goof on someone else. If jo had even lied it was from ''assoc of Pro Chancellors'' it would have sounded slightly convincing, but to say that was coming from Vice Chancellors is taking a lie to an extreme! Shame on you jonathan! And do we now assume Wike doubles as spokesman for the association?

And when people keep saying 'Military failed' it annoys me. So what happened during the two years that ASUU was proscribed? Schools didn't open in those two years abi?

Shut up! You dont know Nigerians. People like you are always talking down on Nigerians like Oshiomole! All we need is the national database base which will commence next year and all that will be easy to implement.

There will not be a national database ever, not while the north is still a part of Nigeria so keep dreaming like the ex population chief.

i have seen reason to believe that this administration is clueless. You had meeting with ASUU and they ask you to put in writing what you promised and you refused and ask them to resume....what a shame. If the govt is sincere why not put everything in writing so that blames can be apportioned where necessary, instead of doing the needful , wike the foot soldier came out to accuse ASUU OF making fresh demand. Whom are they deceiving? Does wike think that he can bully ASUU same way he is causing problems in rivers state. Nigerians are watching with keen interest. Let him sack all lectures and go to OTUOKE to hire militants to lecture in the universities. While his own kids are abroad studying.

All the schools that have declared resumption have resumed fully except Akungba, and the latest news from there is that the VC has finished the recruitment of new lecturers and will be holding orientation for 'em soon.

You know the problem with folks like you? You think you know what is going on whereas you are drowning in the lake of ignorance.

Educate yourself. Go to google and read up, when you come back, come and write something more sensible than what you put up here.

I thought you were breathing fire and brimstone earlier!

Now you have calmed down and realized you can't intimidate anyone; would you please call on the attorney general, finance minister and cbn governor to sign the damn document so that the schools will be reopened?
