None of the governors deserve any award cos when you compare any of these 'urban' cities to that in S.A, you'll discover that they are mere villages. So why celebrate governors who deliver at a snail pace |

Ikengawo:
stop being so gullible.
ticket to Canada is 2000 USD if he sends 200 children to canada, that's 400,000 USD. with 400,000 he could have built whatever it is in canada that those kids are going to see right there an Kano, and train up to 2000 students a year with a 'canadian' education in Kano year after year while playing canadian teachers if he wanted to to stay there and teach
im not counting what they will pay for living for these students in canada (over 38,000 USD a year which is average in canada x 200 students)
African leaders like to throw this garbage at us and confuse us into thinking they know what they're doing with these unsustainable gimmicks
free laptops painted schools tickets and board in foreign countries
this is not education, these are not ideas or structural changes, these are not policies and more importantly they're not sustainable. They're gimmicks meant to deceive the people. Those kids you're sending to Canada will go to Canada and met hundreds of people from Kano that got the same education there but won't bother coming back because there's no work in their state and their skills won't be appreciated in Nigeria, and Kano's barbaric culture. Was it not a week ago that Okonjo Iweala was shouted at by an illiterate because she was sick when trying to propose a budget?
what about the women that go and get this free education? will they not be rendered are useless baby machines by their husbands in a sharia state? Stop these gimmicks. I even think it's trash when Rochas did his own free education gimmick in Imo state. The cost of school isn't a problem for anyone it's the quality. She was sick abi? And he is an illiterate. And you are the principal witness to all of these? Maybe it's cool hiding at the back of a faceless forum to insult people and assert things you weren't witness to |

I would normally never put any Governor before the Lagos State Governor, Mr Raji Fashola, he has shown himself to be a passionate leader but this reading about this Kano state Governor and learning all he has done, I am really impressed and under Two years, I believe if this said Kano state Governor and the Lagos state Governor where to be the President and Vic President of our country Nigeria, I believe a lot would have been better, I have always been scared of the north and that's always been because of the Sharia over there but this is good news. |

In my opinion,I'd say none of them deserves any award.if you know how much is allocated to them monthly, you would be in tears now.The main Problems plauging Nigeria are: Unemployment, poverty, power,Insecurity.for those of you praising your Governors, which of this can you honestly say he has dealt with? Sure,in the papers,we read statistics that show improvement but look around you.Can you really say that there is improvement? Just the other day,I was traveling to uyo from lagos by road and we were attacked by robbers.our driver bluntly refused to drive through umuahia even though it was just 8pm,claiming he had been attacked by armed robbers twice within d week @ umuahia.so,who are those claiming t.a orji is good? The roads were barely motorable.if any Governor should even be given the award,it is certainly not T.A Orji. Sorry,I digressed. Let's talk about free Education. I can authoritatively say that most of the students/pupils in these 'free' schools are lectured in vernacular.how can this children compete with their mates in other countries or even their mates in the same country that attend private schools? Truth of the matter is all this governors are part of the ruling cabal and use this 'party thing' to cover up the fact that they are doing absolutely nothing. |
