As the family meeting dispersed, the thought of Sam crossed Louis' mind again. He held unto the thought as his mum embraced him and he smiled thoughtlessly. Two different things now occupied his mind. He had only watched and read about kidnappers, and he had a slight idea about how they were portrayed in movies in Nollywood- dark glasses, big-burnt lips, stout looks, and dark suits on a pair of jeans. The description of the two men fitted exactly with it all.

"Mum you're back." Helen hugged her mother again and looked up to her. The relatives were discussing in groups already, leaving the family to have time of themselves. The time read 1:42pm.

Mr Ola stood as his newly reconciled wife sat on the chair and attended to her kids. Bolu looked up his father and decided not to divulge much emotions. He was used to that already. Mr Ola sat, relaxing on the couch and soon afterwards fell asleep for a few minutes.

"Helen how have you been?"

"Good. Bad. Just there. We missed you and we'l like to know why you left. Was it work mainly?"

"I promise to answer all your questions soon enough darling."

Then she turned to Mr Ola's side.

"Lets do something funny with dad." Louis suggested and typed the password to his dad's Tab.

Bolu and Helen understood what Louis wanted to executed. They would take a few pics with him as he slept. Their mum could'nt help beaming. Bolu snapped them as they posed infront and behind their dad who snored on.

"Done!" Bolu snapped.

--------------------------------------------------

Granpa and Uncle Folorunsho were seen discussing vibrantly at the balcony. They were deliberating on how to watch them closely. They still had Dupe's career to contend with.

"Ola! Ola!!" Granpa called.

"Baba mi!" Mr Ola jerked out of sleep and rubbed his eyes. He spied the clock.

"I guess you have discussed with your wife on how to take things forward from here." He discovered his son was tired "Kaare omo!" Ola stood from his sleep and smiled.

"Soon enough baba."

He stretched and soon afterwards called Dupe that the family would be going out for relaxation, to catch up immediately as possible.

"Please, Louis behave yourself, or you'll have no legs for football on Monday." Mr Ola adviced his son that loved jumping heights any time they visited any amusement park.

"Yes sir!" Louis bellowed excitedly. Then he remembered. Should he tell his dad? He pondered as the drove out to Graveville Park.

-------------------------------------------------

Early that Saturday morning, Sam woke up early as usual. His mom had left for work. He saw a note and read-

"meet me at the shop by 11am" and remember to bring my food along."

He folded the paper and threw it elsewhere. His elder sister was in the kitchen. They lived in a bungalow flat in Adeniji street, Ayobo. It was a few streets from Louis' home. His dad woke up as he began his daily chores.

"Sam."

"Goodmorning daddy."

"Where's Amaka?"

"In the kitchen." and he continued with his chores.

A few minutes after, his dad drove his Benz car out for a wedding cermony in far away Ojota. Why he left them on such occasions, Sam could'nt understand. Only his mum saw it befitting for them to attend such events. He continued with his chores and an hour later, he assisted his sister in spreading washed clothes when two stout-looking men walked in.

"Is this Mr Ibe's address?" one of them queried

"No sirs, no Mr Ibe lives here."

They whispered some contact address quite audibly for Sam to grasp a few words from their conversation. Then they apologized and went out.

"Who are those sam?" Amaka asked.

"They asked after a certain Mr Ibe."

"Okay." and she hurried in to continue washing.

Sam finished early enough to find his way to the field to have fun. He told his sister, Amaka he would be back in time to attend to his mum's request and ran out despite Amaka sounding a note of warning. Saturdays were meant to be enjoyed.

-------------------------------------------------

Sam traced his way to the field, a s he took the path through an uncompleted building. The owner didnt seem quite ready to completed it for almost three years. As he approached the building, the two men that came earlier to inquire after 'Mr Ibe' scampered behind him and snatched him. He screamed, but just after a cloth was dug down his little mouth. The two men rubbed some white powder over his arms and led him away. It was this moment that Louis saw him and called. His heart raced as he sighted Louis. He quickened his pace after waving at his friend. The knife behind his back pinced, frightened him enough as he was led into a Toyotta Corolla and they sped off.

They arrived Graceville Park, and soon settled under one of the few canopies, while Bolu and his mum went to order for refreshments.

Louis sat besides his father, as Helen had already mingled with some playmates. Then he decided to let the cat out of the bag.

"Dad!" He said frightfully.

"Yes Louis, arent you going to enjoy yourself now. Dont take what i said so seriously, i was just...."

"Sam was kidnapped this morning!" Louis dropped the bombshell.

"How do you mean?" Mr Ezey adjusted, dropping the magazine he was once occupied with.

"We sneaked out to the field while the meeting was ongoing, and and....."

"And what??" His father was already uncomfortable.

"I saw two men.... Two men in dark suits with Sam in between them. He didnt come to greet me, he just speedily followed them, i could'nt see him after...."

"Lord my God!!"

"I at first didnt see anything to it, but they looked like kidnappers in the movies...." His father's face portrayed worry, he stood up and then..

"What's happening here?" His mom queried just immediately she arrived with packs of fried rice and salad. Bolu held the drinks.

" Erm my friend Sam, he was following two stout looking men, and his attitude was unusual."

"Do you have his parent's number or something?"

"No dad, just the address, they leave not far from us. I thought you knew."

His Dad's face registered acknowledment of the fact.

"Lets get going. We wont be long. Just an hour." and he held onto his son as though he was leading him to be punished for impertinence.

Bolu looked on and sat down sadly. Why now? But he later braved up and decided to lighten up the outing and make the best out of it. His mum's face shew fear, but he smiled back at her when she caught his glance.

"Dad will handle that, trust me. Lets enjoy the best of your coming back."

"Bolu, are you sure? That was fast...... An incoming call interrupted her just then. It was Big Larry! She dropped the call and suddenly felt as though everything was falling around her. She brushed off the thought and soon settled to enjoying their meal. Helen hurriedly joined them. Always full of vibe when active.

----------------------------------------------------

Mr Ezey arrived the abode of Mr Ojemba just in time to see Sam's mother looking perplexed. Amaka was narrating to the neigbours what occurred about an hour ago. This was the part Mr Ezey hated the most- breaking bad news.

"Louis!" Amaka called on sighting him, then she greeted his father who cleared his throat to deliver his observations.

"Good afternoon ma'am!"

"Afternoon Sir, you are Louis' father?" she asked.

" Yes and my son here just about an hour ago told me some some unfortunate discovery that happened this erm.... Three hours ago."

"What happened? Sam did'nt come to the shop and now his sister just affirmed he informed her of his going to the field. Any idea where he may be?" Mrs Ojemba queried nervously. She could read Mr Ezey's face and saw he looked appalled.

"Erm yes! My son saw his friend Sam in between two stout looking men. He hurried off with them as Louis tried reaching to him. He said they looked like..... Strange men." He opted for that in replacement for Kidnappers. He didnt want another unfortunate incidence to ruin the day for him. She might not have the strength to carry it.

"Wait.... Sam said two men came here this morning looking for a certain Mr ibe. He described them and and, Oh my God!" Amaka covered her mouth just as soon as she opened it. She stared at her already frightened mother.

"We can handle this amicably, dont panic....." Mr Ezey tried explaining, but her screamed filled the air and stopped him.

"Madam please, please. The police is aware. I called them just upon arriving. Lets head to the station fast. He suggested and just as he ignited his vehicle, a car drove in. It was Sam's father.

"What's going on Clara?" He saw she was'nt at her shop which was unusual to him.

"Sam is missing dad." Amaka stammered. Two men....

"What are you saying now? What exactly do you mean? Mr Ojemba inquired.

"Two men came here and and.... "Mrs Ojemba was already weeping.

"And WHATTT?" Mr Ojemba voice thundered through the partially crowded compound. Neighbours trooped to check out what was going on.

"My son saw him with these same two men hurrying away before he could get to him." Mr Ezey interjected.

Mr Ojemba stared hard at Mr Ezey. He only then noticed his presence after he spoke "And you are?"

"My son is classmates and best friend's with your son, Mr....."

"Ojemba!" He filled in his identity.

"Amaka say something! Say something." Definitely he was yet to put the puzzle together.

"Papa, they asked after a Mr Ibe!" Amaka sulked.

"Mr Ibe!!!!"

Mr Ojemba slumped.

As the black car drove off, Sam felt a sharp pain on his arm. He felt dizzy and soon fell asleep.

"Gozie, phase 1 completed. Any feed from Oga Hai?" One of the abductors queried.

"Not yet, i percieve we just need to pass low areas to avoid unnecessary distraction. Remember he mustnt wake till we reach location." Gozie replied. He looked at Sam and forced a hard grin. He wondered what 'Oga Hai' wanted from this abduction. He shook of the thought and soon dozed off with the boy in between them.

About Forty minutes later, sam suddenly felt conscious of himself. His memory ran fast and he remembered he was abducted. He tried his possibly best to avoid alerting them. He spied the road they were on and just then Gozie felt he was awake. "Goddammit!" And he injected the young boy again, despite the struggling. Sam slumped back to unconsciousness, luckily the last voice he heard was a constant shout of 'Berger, berger!!' the shout faded.

------------------------------------------------

"Revive him. Please get some water, fast." Mr Ezey shouted as he held onto the weighty man before he touched the ground. Louis stood shock and scared as this drama unfolded before his eyes. He was already regretting narrating what he saw, but he had no choice. After a few bucketful of splashes, Mr Ojemba revived with a cough. He was assisted to rest on the wall, but he stubbornly stood up and insisted on going to the station.

"Look after your dad, we'l be right back" Mr Ezey instructed Amaka.

"Please madam, i concur you have a picture or two to verify our claims at the station?" Mr Ezey asked. Soon they were at the Area station in fifteen minutes. They reported their case and after listening to Louis's account, the DPO requested for three of his men. He however told them that they'l have to wait till a day went before he could be tagged 'missing'

This almost enraged Mr Ezey, but he tried hard to express the urgency of the matter. This involved a teenager. Why they couldnt just break protocols at the right circumstances was in itself, detestable.

"Officer this boy is my son's friend and classmate. My son neednt be here if not that he was privy to how it went. Officer this young man and his friend would be having a football tourney, an inter-school competition on Monday. Pleeease Officer."

Mrs Ojemba was already creating dramatics display of pain and sorrow and she was forcefully escorted out of the DPO's office. The Officer later succumbed after more pressure from Mr Ezey. Perhaps this emergence spoilt his schedule for the day. He dialled a few lines and ordered his men to team up with other officers and the search began.

"But where is the father of this boy?" Seargent Okoro inquired. Some noise was heard just about that moment at the entrance of the station. It was a Mr Ojemba!

"I said my son is missing, i want to see the boss around here." Mr Ojemba banged at the counter. He was still drenched, but he didnt care. He looked up as Seargent Okoro and Mr Ezey, Louis came out of the office.

"My son was kidnapped for revenge, i know what i'm saying." Mr Ojemba wiped his forehead nervously.

"Are you the father of the boy? My men are already onto this matter"

"I know who is behind this all, i know, i know!" Mr Ojemba angrily exclaimed.

"If you want to talk, Please do come into my office." and he led the way. Mr Ojemba limped as he followed behind. The female Corporal at the counter shook her head and continued with what she was occupied with.

"Come along Mr Ezekiel," the seargent beckoned.

"Mr Ojemba, please do calm down, this situation can be handled by my men..... I assure you." Seargent Okoro glanced at Mrs Ojemba, who refused taking a seat in his well decorated office. The couple were nervous and he could see they were non-relenting on pressuring.

" Sir you said something, about knowing...." Mr Ezey reminded Sam's absent-minded father.

"Yes ... Yes, you see Officer, erm.... Oh my..... Please officer, these guys are working for a major rival. Yessss." He corrobated his point with emphasis.

Seargent Okoro called a Cop to come jot down vital information.

"There's this business deal i'm working on. And, and these crooked, wicked, so called business partners wouldnt let me be. I'm a Contractor by Profession, specifically an engineer...."

"Please Mr Ojemba, for the sake of time, just tell us very important details here. Your son may be counting on you to survive.." Srgt Okoro interrupted him. Mrs Ojemba suddenly resumed wailing at the mention of 'Survive'. Louis stood and tried to comfort the already confused mother of his friend.

"Mr Ibe is a business partner. He actually is their head. We co-operated together to execute this contract and and he suddenly threatened to do the unthinkable if i didnt pay him what he wanted. Officer this was our earlier agreement. We agreed on 5million naira. And now he wants, he wants double of that sum. This joke is serious one."

Suddenly Mrs Ojemba stood up and walked up to her husband and held onto his shirt, she shooked him, and he struggled to stop her, yet her grip was tight and firm.

"I warned you, I warned you!! You said you can handle this Uzor. I warned you." She wept heavily.

"Madam, sir what is she referring to?" A confused Mr Ezey asked.

"Erm, i suggest we see you both seperately. Cop Taiwo, please take Mrs Ojemba asides for interrogation. Il be with you in ten minutes." Srgt Okor ordered.

"Yes Sir!" and officer taiwo saluted and led her out, she followed reluctantly.

"Mr Ezey, i hope you dont mind seeing this through, inasmuch your son is our witness here."

"No Sir, we're just absolutely here to contribute our best to contain this situation" Mr Ezey nodded in agreement.

Mr Ojemba described a few locations where they met, and the agreements reached while a cop jotted down some helpful info. Louis was sitting down just behind the desk of Srgt Okoro and soon fell asleep. To hard to digest such a stressful SCENARIO!! The time read 3:14pm. Exactly Six hours since Sam went missing.

-------------------------------------------------

Bolu and Helen reminisced alot about their mum's absence and she laughed and spoke to keep them encouraged. Though in between her statements, she admitted not feeling happy at leaving them just so easily. She felt like that everyday.

Helen loved her coming back to reset the family structure, but alot had been done to make her keep to almost all her thoughts. She wondereed if her mum would help with questions, happenings, etc that was from her own perspective. She saw Bolu laughing from a distance as she raced along playing. Then she sat down and stared into space.

She thought, then reasoned, then she restructured, provided a solution, perfected it, restructed it again and then left it for another day, or event. This was the way she's been living with her thoughts.

"Helen! Helen!!"

"Helen!" Bolu called, then he tickled her back to reality. She smiled and looked up at her elder brother.

"I'm just....." She drifted off in explaining. Only Bolu had caught her in her lost thought most of the times. He had an idea of what she thought. Only he could reason which angle she thought from. She had a powerful mind!

"Louis and Dad have spent almost an hour now. Il give him a call. Lets get a cab,so you all can relax." Dupe suggested. She sighted her daughter as Bolu walked up to tickle her a few minutes ago. She knew she needed to answer alot, even if Helen forced a smile or two. She heaved and took their hands as they strode out of Graveville Park, after contacting their dad about their departure from there. It had been a good outing for them. They prayed Sam could be found.
