don't you know investors prefer a bigger market??
well, it depends on your idea of "bigger" market. Bigger market is not only about numbers but also about purchasing power. you may have 100 million people with low purchasing power and 20 million with a bigger purchasing power, which is what interests investors.

The dumb Op even mentioned Egypt where a dictator held sway for more than 3 decades and when the citizens got fed up with him,he ensured that he sent thousands of them to their early graves before he will relinquish power. undecided

You people shouldn't be surprised that these same folks that badmouths Nigeria are the ones dragging Nigeria's image in the mud with their uncultured and criminal attitude outside the shores of Nigeria.

I hope that this op is aware that in Egypt this kind of thread will land him in jail without trial? undecided

With all that how come Nigeria is still a third world country. There is only one possible answer, " CORRUPTION ". Until the young folks revolt against kleptocrats and oligarchs running Nigeria like a family business , she will be stuck in the bottom of world countries . Nigeria deserves to be in the same league with Malaysia , Singapore, Indonesia and co. God help Nigeria and Nigerians. This corrupt politicians should go and give way to new breeds with patriotism .

Corruption is prospering

Poverty is widespread so its prospering
Sports is also prospering - we are afcon champs, blessing is blazing in the track and field department.
Church business is prospering - count our pastors among private jet, University, TV stations owners etc.
Nollywood is worth billions.
JUST START ANYTHING IN NAIJA WEATHER GOOD OR BAD IT MUST PROSPER. Ebola is trying to prosper too despite all efforts to contain it.

Re: Name One Thing Nigeria Can Be Proud Of by AkoEja: 7:57pm On Aug 31, 2014
People who bash their country have a psychological problem. They talk negatively about Nigeria as if Nigeria is an individual that has sinned against them and that needs to be punished. If you keep bashing your country, you are only bashing yourself. Any insult you give to your country is an insult to your individual self.

The people make the country, the country does not make the people. Even though we have had bad leaders over the years, the vast majority of Nigerians are great individuals.

Hate your country or not, it is the only place you can really call home wherever you are in the world. If you want your country to be great, you must continue fighting for its growth in whatever little way you can. Rome was not built in a day, Nigeria is only over 50 years as a country ruled by its own people; it's not really fair comparing it with a country like Britain or America with hundreds of years of development.

Shut up!!! It doesn't matter if that pic was from a different incident, I can go online right now and bring you loads of pics, even videos showing what hell Nigeria is.

It's my democratic right to criticise my country anyway I like, perhaps if most Nigerians exercised that right, things might actually begin to change. You're no longer under a military regime, speak your mind but if you choose to embellish or camouflage the truth that's your problem.

There's no need for patriotism when you're slumming, it's insanity. Since you are so patriotic, why not enlist in the army, take up arms and go fight against boko haram lets see what becomes of you & your family.
