Amhappy: This is a matter of life and death. A health supplement is not bad for this people. We can try it on one most critical person. And Lagos state are not the one to take such decision, where is the ministry of health and NAFDAC in all this.

Can you take otapiapia if I tell you it can cure your ailment.

My people please wise up

texazzpete: Right decision from the Lagos State Government.

How the hell can you take a nutritional supplement like product and spin it as a 'cure' for Ebola? That's like someone marketing Forever Living supplements and saying its a cure for Ebola.

You see a drug that has never been touted as being under development to treat Ebola, and you want to adopt it when there's no verifiable info that it has ever been tested with any efficacy on mice or even monkeys.

The people celebrating this Nano Silver rubbish are not any bit less dumb than those who were using salt water baths.

Have you seen the the drug, was it used on you?I dont just understand how someone will condemn this drug without seeing it.Is it because it was developed by a Nigerian?

It is you and your family that manufactured the pesticide shebi! Civilisation is the cause of all this rubbish! Now a motor park agbero has access to mobile internet to type rubbish on nairaland! Guy face your business cus nairaland is for learned minds and not motor park thugs...ok!

A learned mind writes in clear English. Not that gobbledygook you wrote above. For a goon who calls himself ContinentalCEO, you are an epic fail.

Where is the scientific proof that your pesticide is an alternative vaccine for Ebola? Do you just eat every foolishness your FG spews at you without asking questions?

Is this what informs you to be a learned mind?

let me stop here...

now pertaining America rushing to help us on chibok issue... hehehe...
those guys are the oppressors. if you followed their everything(including arrival in nigeria) pertaining chibok rescue. you'll know that they wanted to bring their drones here (Imagine!) to put us under surveillance and you know we'll be perpetually under them if the drone stuff was accepted. so they had to go cos there's nothing again to gain from naija.

hope you get my 'rant'
Oga i'm sorry to say but its you that is ignorant. The body in Nigeria responsible for testing experimental drugs is NAFDAC. If NAFDAC doesn't want to test a drug for whatever reason, the Lagos state government has the right not to allow the use of an untested drug within its domain. When the WHO said it was ethical to use experimental drugs for the treatment of ebola, they were referring to drugs that have at least passed trials in animals but hadn't been tested on humans. Nobody knows the effect of nanosilver on animals or even humans because it has never been tried! Nobody even knows who the makers are or their location. Its a big scam!

Who told you Nano silver was developed by a Nigeria, the Nigerian just sent it to Nigeria after seeing the bogus claim by the invento, however a quick check on the internet will tell you that nano silver is antibacterial at best.

did Nigeria have a hight security laboratory that they can test the drug on a monky with Ebola,

You need this.

Why Doctors without border didnot use this drug for the other countries when it could help please use your brain
Doctors without Border is an europa NOG!

why only nigeria get this nanao silver

why this company give it only to the country where the goverment has money or should I say where one scientist helps the other to make money with ebola.

Why this company comes out with it just few days ago.

I is very good that the Governor from Lagos didnot take this fake drug, because it was never tested on animals

I got this from the Austrian scientist organisation

Addendum for Dossier No. 010, Version: November 2010

At the end of 2009, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR –Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung) recommended

"to avoid the use of nanoscaled silver or nanoscaled silver compounds in foods and everyday products ... until such time that the

data are comprehensive enough to allow a conclusive risk assessment which would ensure that products are safe for consumer health."

1 The President of the Institute endorsed this position in a press release in June 2010 stressing that nanosilver has no place in food, textiles or cosmetics.

so it is not only america who say it is dangerous.

chukwuma101: so a monkey is a negligible collateral damage?

Yes.

This is the way politicking makes us stop employing our brains. I am very sure you will willingly take a bullet for a monkey, right. That is how precious monkeys are to the human race than you think you are.

And yes, I am with the LASG on this one. Except the zmapp is not available, I won't support using humans as lab rats for a drug whose manufacturer remains anonymous.

Use rats, monkeys and yes, monkeys instead of humans before graduating to volunteers.

Health concerns of Nano Silver
Exposure to silver nanoparticles has been associated with "inflammatory, oxidative, genotoxic, and cytotoxic consequences"; the silver particulates primarily accumulate in the liver. [ 6 ]but have also been shown to be toxic in other organs including the brain. [ 7 ]Nano-silver applied to tissue-cultured human cells leads to the formation of free radicals, raising concerns of potential health risks. [ 8 ]
*.Allergic reaction: While there is anecdotal evidence suggesting the possibility of a silver allergy, an extensive review of the medical literature does not lend any credence to this possibility. [ 9 ]Some silver alloys that include nickel do elicit an allergic reaction.
*.Argyria and staining: Ingested silver or silver compounds, including colloidal silver, can cause a condition called argyria, a discoloration of the skin and organs. In 2006, there was a case study of a 17-year-old man, who sustained burns to 30% of his body, and experienced a temporary bluish-grey hue after several days of treatment with Acticoat, a brand of wound dressing containing silver nanoparticles. [ 10 ]Argyria is the deposition of silver in deep tissues, a condition that cannot happen on a temporary basis, raising the question of whether the cause of the man’s discoloration was argyria or even a result of the silver treatment. [ 11 ]Silver dressings are known to cause a “transient discoloration” that dissipates in 2–14 days, but not a permanent discoloration.[ citation needed]
*.Silzone heart valve: St. Jude Medicalreleased a mechanical heart valve with a silver coated sewing cuff (coated using ion beam-assisted deposition) in 1997. [ 12 ]The valve was designed to reduce the instances of endocarditis. The valve was approved for sale in Canada, Europe, the United States, and most other markets around the world. In a post-commercialization study, researchers showed that the valve prevented tissue ingrowth, created paravalvular leakage, valve loosening, and in the worst cases explantation. After 3 years on the market and 36,000 implants, St. Jude discontinued and voluntarily recalled the valve.[b]Health concerns of Nano Silver

The people that created zmapp told us they got it from tobacco extracts, its online check it. We know the names of the zmapp researchers, we know their lab, we know their sponsors, we have access to their previous research articles online, we have access to the results of their animal trials. Everything is online. But who is the maker of this nanosilver? What is his name? Who are his researchers? Where are his research articles? You don't know but you want someone's husband, someone's wife and kids to drink nanosilver. Doesn't it sound ridiculous to you?

Why won't they reject it ? When inferiority complex dwells in us. Tell me how we will ever grow in this country; when we tend to politicize or sabotage every single effort by any one of us.
If that nano silver of a drug were to be produced by a white, our government would have gone for it whole heartedly.
If the government of lagos is in doubt of the efficacy of the drug, what stops them from atleast getting an animal to serve as a guinea pig?
