Please Nigerians let's not use the defeat as a topic to criticise our Goodluck administration, when the soldiers don't have what it takes to fight the insurgency, what do you expect? We should tell the senate to approve the money the president is requesting to acquire more weapons for the arm forces to fight insurgency, only his salary can't afford it! He is a man with good heart, our security is his prioity.....GEJ till 2019 2 Likes |

This insurgency has really exposed our military's ineptitude. But if it were to harass innocent passers-by on the road, they will show you they are brave. With this development, one will readily agree with me that for the past four months these Chibok girls were abducted, our military has never made any concrete effort to rescue them. The army feeds us with lies that they are on top of the matter. With this shoddy display from our military, it means should any of these our small neighbouring countries decides to wage war with us -we are finished! Now, going by what is happening, will you still believe our FG that very soon insurgency will be a thing of the past? #one day the bush-meat go catch the hunter# In sound sultan's voice 2 Likes |

atlwireles: THE greatest threat facing the nation’s war against the Boko Haram and other Islamist insurgents has to do with the unprecedented acts of sabotage that the national assignment is facing. Never at any other time in the history of Nigeria had the army been so bedeviled by internal and external undermining of efforts to rid the country of terrorists and other enemies of her unity and progress. Therefore, is anyone surprised that APC e-goats are having a feast on this thread? Anyway, since the new APC song is that Boko Haram is "better armed" than the Nigerian Army, let no one cry foul of genocide or human right abuses when the Nigerian Army turn the heat on those demons and their sympathisers. 3 Likes |

olapluto: But 480 is an alarmingly high number. The president is not even bothered. What leads you to believe that he is not bothered? Do you live in his household? Do you regularly attend national security meetings? systematic disintegration of Nigeria is going on under a president that is happy to weaken the army to prevent a coup d'etat rather than equip the army to maintain territorial integrity of the country. What makes you think he wants to weaken the army? Hasn't he been raising their budget? Why'd he deliberately destroy his own credibility? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Saw the video this morning. Towards the end, there were Nigerian soldiers on one hill running away from the boko haram fighters. Really scary video. At the rate these guys are fighting, won't be long till they reach Lagos. They're really good fighters. Then we'll all have to flee as refugees to benin or even ghana 2 Likes |

cirmuell: c'mon guys, it says they were gonna be court-martial...and clearly they didn't flee 'cause of encounter with BH like the other report is making look like.court-martial for what reason in the first place? Because they refused to go fight boko haram without proper ammunition. I think this even worse for the military. Anyways i don't want to talk more about the military before they turn their venom on me. "they do civilians best" |
Re: 480 Nigerian Soldiers Flee To Cameroon by Pennywise(m): 5:20pm On Aug 25, 2014 |
In a truly sane country the army chief would have resigned by now or is fired. The proper arms and ammunition argument is weak. Nigerian soldiers are routinely giving away armored tanks and heavy machinery at the sight of BH 'soldiers' most of whom are no more than teenagers without the benefit of body armor. 4 Likes |
