I knew there will be a religious angle to it.

Why can't you Muslims keep your politics outside your religion?

Why are mosques used as incitefull venues for violence?

MUSLIMS ARE BORN SOLDIERS

Muslims are not 'mumus' that just sit down and listen to a Pastor and grin......Muslims are born soldiers, so let that sink into your head.

Here we go again with the blame game. We havent even confirmed the cause of the riot but you'v started pointing accusing fingers.

For your info, it is rumoured that he was the one i.e The Turaki of Adamawa Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who funded the Yan Banga/local hunters at Adamawa that routed Boko Haram yesterday
someone posted an accusing post against jonaTAN b4 the guy you quoted and also accused...and i wonder how u were too myopic not to have seen n reacted to it! Fair?
Anyways,op,you guys stay safe over there..

When your impression is based on what are known to be fabricated stories none of which form the basis of Islamic doctrine, it is no wonder. Maybe, someday, you would be willing to learn and ask these questions from knowledgeable muslims.

If you want to sincerely have that conversation, you can mail me.

You keep crossing out my posts is that not a disrecpectful sign and an indication of intolerance on your part?

I don't need you or any muslim for that matter to lecture me on the ways of islam. Newspaper headlines are enough expose on your violent religion

Actions they say speak louder than words

All what you guys are saying is off topic. The Imam preached last week that we the people of Yola should not run but rather stop and defend ourselves from boko boys which the government of goodluck failed to tackle. The riot started today when we gathered to perform Jum@ prayer and some people claimed that the district head of yola North have saked the Imam we started defending ourselves from clueless jona-daft supporters we are tired of all this we can not be slaves in our father land goodluck and his boko boys should note that.

Why did you not quote your very own prophets words instead of relying on a christian civil rights advocate?

Don't tell me the prophet of the religion of peace did not leave any peace and tolerance quotes in the koran?

“Keep to forgiveness, and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.” (Quran 7:199)

“Good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with what is better. Then he, between whom and you there was hatred, will become as though he was a bosom friend.” (Quran 41:34)

"Be kind, for whenever kindness becomes part of something, it beautifies it. Whenever it is taken from something, it leaves it tarnished." He also said: "Make things simple and do not complicate them. Calm people and do not drive them away." - Imam Bukhari's Book of Muslim Morals and Manners

"He is not one of us who shows no mercy to younger ones and does not acknowledge the honour due to our elders". [At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud].

Is today not Friday?

Then the answer to the riots lies on the religious significance of today being Friday.

The OP is right, there was indeed a small riot around old jimeta market, which resulted in police firing to disperse a growing number of rioters. What actually happened was that immediately after Friday prayers, someone took the microphone from the Chief Iman and made a statement, suggesting that
* the recent series of helicopters crashes,
* the recent helicopter crash in which some foreign nationals with arms are involved
* CAN President private jet & arm smuggling in South Africa
* the refusal of GEJ to authorize the Civilian JTF to go after Boko Haram despite the recent success they achieved in Mubi,
* the recent directive from the IGP that state Commissioners should curtail the activities of vigilante groups nationwide
All points to the fact that GEJ is deliberately or actively promoting Boko Haram. With this statement, the Chief Iman refused to stop the man provocative statement and did not react to it neither did he try to stop him. With this, the District Head removed the Chief Iman from his post with immediate effect, this action triggered a wave of protest from people who shared or believe the angle of GEJ as the C-C of Boko Haram.
However, I don't think any lost of life and the situation is right now under control

For those saying roots always start from the mosque, Yeah right! That id because the truth is always considered first. NOt like in the churches thst your pastors keep lying to you. Talking about inciting political comments, was the conspiracy theory about Muslims trying to dominate Christians by that yeye pastor which is making waves none not inciting enough? Was it not fond in the church? And about the points raised by the speaker in the mosque, are his arguments not true? Msteeew to hell with the covert BH sponsors.

If people in the northern Nigeria keep accepting lies like this and fail to face the fact that the insurgency been experienced in the north is a product of the inability of their so called leaders to give them sound education nor good infrastructure combined with a religion that is synonymous with extreme violence and mindless bloodshed then this Bokoharam problem is just beginning.
