What's the significant importance of the ibos that they won't allow us to rest.. I don't know who's fooling them that their votes hold water as a determinant of next election's result. So many Nigerians haven't gotten,so why the cry by the ibos? PVC or TVC,,the ibos are minority in Lagos. 4 Likes |

Sometimes I read news about Ibos and just shake my head in disbelief, that this ethnic group is called a majority along with true giants like Yoruba and Hausa is dumbfounding! Why was Ibo designated as a majority in Nigeria? These comedians have zero understanding about citizenship and rights...always twisting things on its head! Let me school these mofos about voters cards, whether it is temporary or permanent is irrelevant! Any card identification issued to you, or in your name to someone else, by a government agency is owned by the issuing agency, not you! So a Voters Card belongs to INEC but its use for civic functions is AUTHORIZED to you. Therefore you are the only legally authorized person to use the card and no one, not even the owner, INEC, can deny you posession of a VC issued under your identity without a legal justification why the card is witheld. Any and all Ibo/s who say Fashola or his street agents withold their VC lack knowledge of fundamental citizen rights and don't belong in Lagos society....they need to be deported back to East where village rumor mill is the voice of reason. Lagos cant tolerate slackers, period! 17 Likes 1 Share |
]Ibos will do anything to inflate their importance. ] That's uncalled for.The people you read whining here are sycophants whose entire being relies on GEJ retaining power by all costs. They just want to use what their master GEJ has turned to an art;tribal sentiments, to heat up d polity. Millions of Ibos have collected their cards, including those in Lagos.Wherever there has been an issue with card collection in Lagos,it involved a number set,so every registered voter under that number set is affected;ibo,Yoruba, efik,Hausa, etc. 6 Likes |

FASHOLA RELEASE OUR PVC NOW. Please nairaland, this is a verifiable info. I registered to vote at Agungi Mosque Ajiran in 2011, thus when it was time for PVC pick up, I went to the mosque for pick up but noticed that INEC had no presence there. Subsequently I read in the papers that all registered voters should go to their local government council for PVC cards. I did visit my local council and I was directed to go to IKota primary school towards VGC to pick up my PVC. Since a month and half INEC officials have been tossing me around. Upon my first visit, I presented my TVC with which they identified me on the list but when they checked based on my ward number 028 for my PVC, they could not find it. I was told to write down my name and serial number which I did. The lady further instructed me to visit the week after that INEC will send new card for me. I visited and they told me new cards are yet to come and they directed I vist this week (which is three weeks from the day I first visited). The lady told me yesterday that she is sorry that my card cannot be available before elections. I threatened to arrest them for selling my PVC and the lady out of fear confessed they have nothing to do with missing PVCs that all questions should be directed to the local government chairman and Jega that they are only doing as instructed. I was aghast and stunned and realized that something is fundamentally wrong with our country, the system and pathetically wrong with the Institution Jega is running. These are the same set of people going on national tv and telling Nigerians that all is set for 2015 elections. The big question is: why can't legitimate voters who can't grab their PVCs use their TVCs? God bless Nigeria. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

sleekdre: I have been there. The shaking Niger bridge, the Oju-iku sculpture after the bridge at Onitcha, then the market, all the way to Awka. There is usually a small city centre and the rest are hamlets. I passed a few Igwe houses. The igbo man's mentality is to build the biggest house in the neighbourhood. The collection of new huge properties is impressive and you see the evidence of personal wealth. Evidence that money is new to these people. Igbo should stop building empty mansions all over the place and focus on creating viable Economy, self sustaining, catering for the teeming Igbo youth. 9 Likes |
