What are you saying? Atiku can't lace Tinubu's shoes when it comes to politics, his northern brothers won't even back him. Apc would have lost the presidential elections if Atiku had gotten the ticket,he cannot even win a gubernitorial election in Adamawa, talk more about guarantee votes outside the state.Look back at thier presidential primaries, you see he could not even Match Kwankwaso.

Atiku might not fare well when it comes to politics of the masses, but when it comes to the politics of the inner caucus, he aint no kid.
In the BOT coming election he is his own man, while Akande is someone's man, a man on strings. That position Akande is in, will make him lose out.

Tussle for power!!! Party formed out of selfish interest and greed for power can only produce dubious minded politicians with ideologies differences. A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand firm when the wind blows. Anyways, let me sit tight and watch the drama as if unfolds. Bisi vs Atiku

Just watch it play out,Akande has his own influence,i mean he has numerous loyalists in the party, combined Tinubu's influence, Atiku has no ground, the party won't favour Atiku considering his political ASHAWOISM.

Bros, I don't think Lawal, Shehu Sani, Bukar Aba Ibrahim, Marafa and other core Northerners would 'openly' support any of Tinubu's Candidate, if the North were going against him (Tinubu). During the House of Reps' inauguration, Gbajagbiamila garnered 174 votes while Dogara had 182, that means only 43 APC Reps voted (for) Dogara, the rest gave their votes to Gbaja. If the Northerners were against Tinubu, they wouldn't have massively voted his supposed preferred Candidate (Gbaja) against their brother (Dogara). If not for PDP's bloc votes, Dogara wouldn't have won. As long as it involves only APC, Tinubu would continue to floor Atiku!
Religion played its part; Dogara is a christian

I believe you made a mistake while posting this comment. You forgot you weren't online with your ShowYourCertificate handle.

Meanwhile, Atiku's group can only, I repeat can only have an edge over Tinubu's group when the battle is not intra-party. When it involves only the party, Tinubu would continue to humiliate Atiku because no PDP members to rescue him (Atiku) on this. Besides, most Northerners who are loyal to Buhari don't even trust Atiku. Let's see how it plays out anyway!

Dey don't trust Atiku but trust tinubu?

Atiku will clinch the spot

Atiku sabi Abuja politics pass regional which tinubu hold ace in

Even Obj will testify Atiku Na mad person

God bless you!

I came to respect the north even more that very day.

Gbaja was nominated by a Bauchi man, Dogara's brother, when it seemed as if they had all resolved to stick to Dogara who was first to be nominated.
And he got 174 votes as against Dogara's 182.
How many Yoruba reps are there?

For the records, MKO Abiola defeated Tofa (a northerner), Obasanjo defeated Buhari (a northerner).

Some idddiots wont stop comparing themselves with Yorubas.

Isnt Saraki a Yoruba man?

Yoruba have nos 2,3 and 6.
No tribe has ever attained this feat in history of this country.

Yet some tribe with little or nothing will be crying more than the bereaved.

Nonsense!!

after 22days of APC in government, they are yet to strategize the "change" they preached rather, they are busy having conflict amongst themselves.
it seems the government of APC will be corrupt just like the GEJ administration.

You people have started again abi, that was how some people here sworn with their fathers and mothers that Saraki and Dogara would never emerge the Senate President and Speaker respectively, today they have buried their faces in animal dung.
Akande cannot match Atiku in politics, therefore Atiku would emerge the BOT of APC.
Those of you that "hate" Atiku, be sincere to your conscience(that's if there is any), what wrong did he do to you? Is he the worst corrupt politician in Nigeria? has he be convicted of any financial crime by any court of competent jurisdiction? Take it or leave it, Atiku is a great politician and I love him.

There are strong indications that a fresh power tussle is brewing in the All Progressives Congress over the chairmanship of its Board of Trustees.

Saturday PUNCH reliably learnt on Friday that the tussle was between former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and a former Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.

Investigations showed that the tussle was part of moves by the power blocs in the APC to influence decisions in the party by taking control of its various organs.

Saturday PUNCH had last week reported that two power blocs led by Atiku and a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had engaged in a fierce battle to control the party.

It was learnt that the two camps believed that the BOT chairmanship would go a long way in assisting them to control the party.

The chairman of the BOT, according to Article 13.2 of the APC constitution, shall be elected by the board members.

Both camps, investigations showed, had started reaching out to members of the board, who would elect the chairman.

It was learnt that Akande was being backed by Tinubu, who is not happy with Atiku’s role in the National Assembly leadership elections.

The struggle for the chairmanship of the APC’s BOT, investigations revealed, became intense following the National Assembly leadership elections on June 9.

Atiku was reported to have supported Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, during the elections.

Tinubu and the party’s National Working Committee were said to have backed Senator Ahmad Lawan and Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila for the senate presidency and the speakership.

Both candidates lost to Saraki and Dogara during the elections.

Investigations revealed that the emergence of Saraki as the senate president would enable the Atiku camp to take control of the party’s National Executive Committee.

The Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives are members of the NEC.

Tinubu is believed to be in control of the party’s NWC as many of its members are said to be close to him.

The contest for the control of the BOT is still open to the two camps.

The media aide to Tinubu, Mr. Sunday Dare, could not be reached on the telephone as it indicated that it was switched off while a text message sent to his telephone was not replied to as of press time.

But a close associate of Akande, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa, told one of our correspondents that he was not aware that the former governor of Osun State was being nominated to be the chairman of the BOT of the ruling party.

Baderinwa, who was the former chief press secretary of Akande when he was the governor, spoke on the telephone with our correspondent in Osogbo on Friday.

He, however, said his former principal had everything needed to function very effectively in the office if he was elected the BOT chairman.

He said, “Chief Bisi Akande is eminently qualified to be BOT chairman of the APC. He was a chairman of the Alliance for Democracy; he was the chairman of Action Congress of Nigeria and was the Interim Chairman of the APC.

“Before this, you will remember that he was a deputy governor and later he became the gov

He told the people he doesn't have the money to bribe anyone and even if the money was there, he wouldn't bribe anyone (because it's corruption). Stop accusing Buhari wrongly!

bros ,it seems u aren't a grassroot politician. Forget all the rubbish been said on nairaland ,atiku political structure and machinery spread all over the country, the problem pdp is facing today started when atiku left pdp in 2007 and since then pdp hadn't been the same , the same thing happened again when atiku led 5govs out of pdp and this cumulated in the ouster of a pdp president. Atiku is very very powerful and has a massive war chest to finance any political project he wants

I'm not saying Tinubu controls all the blocs. But outside his Southwest' stronghold, he controls a reasonable number of blocs. The Benue APC groups are always with Tinubu, there are still some blocs loyal to him in Edo, some Northerners who do not want Atiku albeit not loyal to Tinubu, would prefer to go with Tinubu. No need of argument, let's just see how it plays out. One thing I'm so sure of, is that with Akande on the race, Atiku should step down or face humiliation just like the Presidential Primaries!
You made a valid point. Atiku can not be trusted by his own people. Lets see how it plays out.
