There were indications on Saturday that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress had begun moves to compensate the South-East for not getting any appointments so far in the current administration.

SUNDAY PUNCH reliably gathered that some states in the geopolitical zone might get more than one ministerial slot.

The Presidency and the APC sources, who spoke to SUNDAY PUNCH on condition of anonymity, also justified the appointments made by Buhari on Thursday.

A top member of the party said the President was not unmindful of criticisms that greeted the alleged lopsided appointments.

He said, “The President has assured us that all zones that have not been represented in the appointments he has made so far will be compensated.

“For example, some states in the South-East may get more than one ministerial slots. The President is going to make board and ambassadorial appointments. All zones, including the South-East, will be represented in this government.”

Prominent Nigerians and socio-political groups, have criticised the appointments made by Buhari so far.

Out of 31 appointments made so far, 24 of the appointees are from the North and seven are from the South. The South-East has no representation in the Buhari-led government.

SUNDAY PUNCH however gathered that the emergence of the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pastor David Lawal, and the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, was the result of the politics among power blocks in the APC.

It was learnt that the two appointees belonged to the Congress for Progressive defunct Change, which Buhari led, before it merged with other parties to form the APC

A Presidency source told one of our correspondents that Lawal and Kyari were picked because of their closeness and loyalty to the President.

The source said, “Although the President is a loyal member of the party, the levels of trust he has in the members differ. There are various blocks in the APC.

“You don’t give appointments such as chief of staff and the SGF to your rival or his loyalists; you give them to those you can vouch for. Those posts are ears and eyes of the President and they are not subjected to the party’s ratification.”

It was also gathered that the latest appointments confirmed the existence of various power blocks in the APC.

It will be recalled that the CPC, led by Buhari, merged with the Action Congress of Nigeria, the All Nigerians Peoples Party and a faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, led by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to form the APC.

They were later joined by five governors, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also defected from the PDP to the APC.

Meanwhile, the Presidency, on Saturday, assured Nigerians that by the end of the series of appointments being made by Buhari, no part of Nigeria would feel alienated.

The Special Assistant to the President on Media Affairs, Mr. Garba Shehu, said this in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents.

When asked if the South- East and other parts of the country, who are complaining of being marginalised by Buhari would be compensated, Shehu said appointments so far made by the President were just a few out of so many that would be made by the President.

He said, “There will be ministers, heads of government departments, federal boards and ambassadors. At the end of the exercise, no part of the country will be left feeling left out.”

Should Mr. HarunaMomoh escape being sent to jail, then our dear President would have failed in his fight against corruption as it is no secret that Mr. HarunaMomoh and Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke are the two most corrupt entities in the last decade in our nation’s history.

In fact, the entire world knows that Mr. Momoh was the man behind the entire activities of Diezani, however this petition is not about Mrs. Diezanibut of Mr. HarunaMomoh as we are working tirelessly to collate facts on Mrs. Diezani.

THEREFOR, we invite you to investigate the following wrongful dealings of Mr. Haruna, past Managing Director of Pipelines and Product Marketing Company.

1. The issue of Price Waterhouse Coopers, a forensic audit firm hired by the Federal Government of Nigeria, in their audit of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, totally and in very strong terms indicted Mr. HarunaMomoh and the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC). The report made it clear that Mr. Momoh swindled Nigerians to the tune of $205 Million in a Kerosene subsidy scam which was supervised by the PPMC.

We urge you to take steps and request for a copy of the said report as it indicted Mr. Momoh in more than one way, recall that the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, reported a missing $18.5 Billion of NNPC’s earnings, and we have no doubt that a closer investigation will reveal the role of Mr. Momoh in the scam.

It is imperative to not that Nigerians will be more than happy to get to a logical conclusion of how a single individual can embezzle funds meant for a whole Nation.

2. Mr. Momoh is a heartless man who grossly recorded the highest level of pilfering in our Nation’s Petroleum Industry, especially because he was giving the freest of hands to operate the way he likes.
He remained an accomplice of Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke with whom he plotted several shady schemes and oil deals that adversely affected Nigerians and increase poverty in the land.

We sadly bring to you notice that while millions of Nigerians go to bed without food, Mr. HarunaMomoh is a proud owner of $2 Billion fortune, with houses in

From 2011 up to 2015, Mr. HarunaMomoh demanded and pocketN50 per litre of Kerosene and petroleum product from marketers all in the name of support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s Elections and in turn it was the common men that paid the price as the marketers had no choice but to add the excess to the overall retail price. Mr. Momoh must be made to refund every little kobo.

Also, Mr. Momoh demanded and took the sum of One Million Dollars ($1m) from brief case companies and allowed them to lift crude, in the same manner the younger Brother to Mrs. Diezani Mr. Timi Agama, owner of Nezor SA and Tridax SA companies was unduly favoured to lift and benefited a lot from the illicit deals of petroleum subsidy.

4. We demand a probe in to the activities and several Bank accounts of NEZOR SA and TRIDAX SA as it will reveal more than enough indictments on the part of Mr. HarunaMomoh. As a matter of fact, the so called “Cabal” in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry is made up of just those two Companies.

We equally use this medium to call for Invitation and investigation of all those who served under Mr. Momoh as Depot Managers and sales Representatives in the various refineries across the Nation. We have been able to reach out to some Depot Managers and sale Representatives in the Refineries who are ready to testify.

5. The “Crude Swap” Mr. Momoh stole Nigeria blind with this deal which has been adjudged the most fraudulent deal in our Petroleum Sector.
We trust that this step which we have taken to fulfill our civic responsibility will be encouraged by a prompt and swift investigation as Nigerians are waiting for the outcome of the above if it turns out that Mr. Momoh is not corrupt man then we can proudly say Nigeria is filled with Angels as the likes of Mr. Momoh does not need to be investigated but to be sent to jail directly.
