I lived in Ikeja for a while then Moved to the Ogba area.
I passed Allen Avenue area everyday on my way to school.

What circa? 90s or 2000s?

Obviously you never accounted em' cuz of the area you resided in.
But come oooo, I'm not too sure about this cuz i've been to every posh area in the Lagos and you'll still find mosquitoes there.

Anyone who claims not to have encountered mosquitoes in Nigeria is an unrepentant liar.
There were mosquitoes in Dodan Barracks where IBB and Maryam used to reside.

I was born and raised here as an infant, it was inevitable I'd return to my birthplace at some stage.
Re: Why Did You Leave Nigeria? by Wallie(m): 8:55pm On Mar 17, 2010
I left Naija after high school because that was the plan all along and Naija gave me the value system I needed to succeed over here. Plus, after going through Naija's education system, classes over here seemed too easy!

My parents took me back to Nigeria to “have a sense of belonging” and I thank them for it. Just like someone said earlier, I really enjoyed all that I went through. From the watery soup you get served in boarding school to the tip-toeing your way around sh.it on the bathroom floor. I really believe the whole environment, especially Lagos, builds character and if you survive, you can survive anywhere!

Even though I’ve been here for most of my life, I still have that Naija survival instinct and I can throw down with the best of both worlds. Although, I now need a driver to drive me around Lagos, after finding out the hard way that I can’t deviate from the straight road linking Ikeja to Lagos Island without getting seriously lost!

Can you imagine being lost late at night in a luxury car on 3rd mainland bridge, after mistakenly heading towards Oworonsoki, and not being able to ask for directions because I was afraid of being carjacked?

Making it in America for a Nigerian entalls,

a job he hates and is afraid to lose, renting an apartment around africans, two weeks vacation in Nigeria a year spent breathing noxious fumes on a highway clogged with motor vehicles while playing BIG SHOT. Living in the company of a spouse with whom he has nothing in common and children who hate him.
