And what would you say if he uses the federal might to win Lagos, you will say he has rigged it. Lagosians had been known to be in opposition for a very long time, they dont vote in ruling party candidates, this election is not an exception.

What do youpeople think before? that PDP will lose ASO ROCK? No way, bab OBJ already told everyone that the election is a do or die affair. Yaradua is already in ASO ROCK.

Today the supreme court has clear Atiku to contest saturdays's polls. even at that Atiku can't win yaradua, cos OBJ is involved

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY IN EDO STATE AS ANOTHER OSUNBOR AND ANINI EMMERGES
A new osunbor and anini(Aneni) notorious robbers of the good but old edo state has emmerged following the massive daylight robbery incidence at the INEC office in Benin City. In what appeared to be a total and confirmed victory for the people's president, Com. Adams Oshiomhole, from all indications at the various polling centres, the Osunbor was declared the winner of the election after a prolonged interval of in-house doctoring and manipulations of results. If you doubt that Com. Adams Oshiomhole, A C candidate was not robbed, i plead that you come to Edo state and see the reaction of the people who came out to vote massively for him. Barely 2 hours of release of result, they are out in thousands in a peaceful protest arround major streets in the state.

In some of the polling centres, confirmed P D P members were seen carting away ballot boxes and materials to thier various houses. At the end, I did not vote but someone somewhere voted unauthorisingly for me. We were at the polling centre at U B T H eagerly waiting to cast our vote. As at the end of the exercise, we were still awaiting the arrival of 5 ballot boxes, while 2 were at the venue. At the end, the two boxes were counted in the broad daylight and the outcome spelt a total failure for the P D P. If we all had voted, that would have further compounded the problem of the P D P.

By this, we are calling on INEC and other well meaning Nigerians to come to our aid. All we are saying is that the result of the election in Edo is totally unacceptable to the people and Com. Adams Oshiomhole, A C be installed as our governor.

Inec had the effontry to declare Andy Uba victorious in anambra state, imagine an election where key figures in the state did not vote, its a good thing that the governor kept announcing that there where no elections in anambra state and various individuals attested to that fact. i am hoping that when the chips are down men and women will not go into hiding and allow this daylight robbery to hold sway. i look forward to the outcome of this issue. Iwu is a disgrace and every other person who perpetrated this sham called election. Nigerians never forget, but do we ever learn?

INEC had already advised people to disregard the results on their website, as some hackers are capable of posting fake or inconclusive results on the site.  Hence, I guess the results would only be posted on the site after the complete results have been announced via other media (TV, Radio, etc).

A round of applause for this BIG fools excuse by INEC, and enough shame on the faces of us all nigerians. Not even a reliable website. They have really messed us up -- a great deal. And, what they thinking anyway?

Nigerians vote in state elections amid sporadic violence
Nigerians went to the polls Saturday to choose state governors and legislators, with security forces on high alert and violence reported in the oil-rich south of the country.

Major parties see the polls taking place across all 36 states as a test for the presidential election in a week's time to replace President Olusegun Obasanjo, who is ending his second four-year term.

Polling got off to a late start in many parts of the country, and voters in some areas also complained of voting material arriving late or other logistical problems.

In Port Harcourt, the capital of the southern state of Rivers, two police stations were burned down overnight and seven policemen killed by the Niger Delta Vigilantes, an armed group seeking to disrupt the elections.

In the commercial capital Lagos Saturday, where the streets and freeways were unusually quiet, the military was out in full force manning checkpoints at key road junctions.

They searched all vehicles, checking the identity of their occupants.

Polling stations were due to have officiallly closed at 3:00 pm (1400 GMT) but voters already in the queue before then were still being allowed to cast their ballots.

The presidential vote on April 21 is expected to lead to the country's first civilian-to-civilian handover since independence from Britain in 1960.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) currently controls 28 states, and a top party official predicted the party would win more this time, including the coveted Lagos State.

In some areas of Rivers State and Delta, people had still not started voting by mid-afternoon.

In Okrika, a fief of the Niger Delta Vigilantes south of Port Harcourt, large numbers of people complained of voting materials being delivered late and of their subsequent confiscation by officials from the ruling party.

At Bodo community in the Ogoni region of Rivers, AFP journalists reported seeing two electoral agents stuffing ballot boxes with pre-stamped papers in favour of the ruling party candidate.

The same officials later turned away a bona fide voter on the grounds they had run out of electoral material.

In Okpe in neighbouring Delta State, an electoral official told AFP he was being forced by PDP members to authenticate hundreds of already thumb-printed ballot papers.

In Warri, another oil town, residents spoke of gangs of youths fighting the military.

In another southern oil state, Bayelsa, officials also reported at least two dead and one wounded in violence in the capital Yenagoa.

Southern Nigeria's oil-producing region has been the theatre of violence, ranging from gang warfare to oil-worker kidnappings, for the past several years.

European Union observers have not deployed to Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta for security reasons and are monitoring the polls there through local observers.

Chief EU observer Dutch lawmaker Max van den Berg, who was in Lagos Saturday, said he had received reports from EU observers of incidents in a number of states across the nation, ranging from under-age voting in northern states to machete-toting individuals in south-eastern Enugu State.

"This is worrisome material," he said, stressing he was waiting however for the polls to close before forming his overall evaluation.

The northern commercial capital of Kano was calm despite a late start to voting.

In another northern State, Katsina, an angry mob burned down a local government secretariat in Dandume town, convinced that the non-arrival of voting materials was an attempt by the ruling party to rig elections, officials said.

While the military manned the roads, police were deployed at polling stations throughout the country.

Lagos was calm and local police chief Bashir Azeez said no arrests had been made so far.

Some Lagos governorship candidates had just their logo, not their photograph on the ballot sheets.

Electoral agency boss Maurice Iwu dismissed this as the fault of the candidates in question who had not submitted photos.

But Yinka Odumakin, spokesman for Jimi Agbaje, one of the leading Lagos governorship candidates, described the non-insertion of the politicians' picture on the ballot paper as an "act of sabotage and a deliberate attempt to reduce his (Agbaje's) chances at the poll".
I wonder why you people are making noise over something that has been decided - signed, sealed and delivered. Shouting and making noise here is not the proper way, and it is tantamount to not following the rule of law, as you the opposition always preach. The lay down rules is to challenge the result at the tribunal, since you know much about fighting injustice through court of law, one of which was materialises this evening as with the Atiku case, let any aggrieved candidate go to the Tribunal.
PDP lost Lagos, Bauchi, Borno, Yobe and Zamfara, I am also sure they will lose in Kano, Abia State governorship candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Theodore Ahamefule Orji, made history on Sunday as the first person in the country’s history to emerge as governor while in detention when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election, how else do you people will realise that this election was not rigged, afterall it is easier for PDP to rigged out a candidate that is in detention who cannot even monitor his own election.
PDP did its homework, like the ruling party it was, they are busy campagning while other cannot match their campaigning power.
Let any aggrieved candidates proceed to tribunal, Case closed!

Names of OBJ's favorites excluded from EFCC lists

Last View on Mon 16th April, 2007

Saharareporters has uncovered the existence of the real list submitted by the EFCC to the Presidency, our highly reliable source said elements within the presidency doctored the final list that was released to the media yesterday after excluding names of presidential favorites.

Click here to download the original list

The original list contained names of four presidential candidates namely:

-Alhaji Abubakar Atiku
-Orji Uzor Kalu
-Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto State)-Accused of deducting local government funds, diversion of public funds and abuse of office, the list indicated that the case was still under investigation)
-Goodluck Jonathan -Accused of looting Bayelsa State funds to the tune of N8.2 billion-case under investigation

Amongst governorship candidates the following names were included in the original list:

-Justus Olugbenga Daniel (Ogun State)- Accused of embezzlement and economic sabotage,; fraudulently obtained waiver on importation of vehicles and iron rods which he later sold to Globe Motors (839 vehicles and 10,000 metric tons of iron was sold to Chief Anumudu) for N300 million. Also accused of breach of code of conduct (found to operate foreign accounts) and money laundering.Case Status: Case under active investigation, subject (Globe Motors) agreed to refund N300 million to the FG

-Chief Olusegun Agagu (Ondo State)-Accused of conspiracy, abuse of office, criminal diversion of public funds and stealing. Illegally deducted a total sum of N2.4 billion being 40% of oil derivation fund meant for Ondo State’s OSOPADEC. Case still under investigation.

-Otunba Alao Akala (Oyo State) – Case of abuse and misappropriation of Oyo State government funds. Case Status:Case still under investigation

-Bukola Saraki (Kwara State) –A case of embezzlement of former Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria (SGBN), Case Status: aspirant was indicted during the investigations.

Also included in the original list are Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro who was accused of lying under oath over his real age.

The Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Danjuma Goje was also listed as being involved in money laundering, stealing and embezzlement, the list indicated that his case was newly assigned by the EFCC.

Senator Ndoma Egba a close ally of President Obasanjo was accused of abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds on the new list.

Dr. Olusegun Agagu of Ondo State indicted, to refund $3.5 million Nigerian Airways loot

Gov. Olusegun Agagu indicted by Nigerian Airways Limited judicial panel (White Papers); to refund. $3.2 million Saharareporters, New York

The People Democratic Party (PDP) is a fix over a belated discovery of massive fraud against one of their gubernatorial flag bearer, Chief Olusegun Agagu, in Ondo State.

Chief Olusegun Agagu, who is currently the governor of Ondo State, was indicted by a judicial panel of inquiry headed by Justice Obiora Nwazota for fraud and embezzlement totaling 3.5 million dollars.

According to recommendation 32 and 33 of the White Paper adopted by President Obasanjo from the panel, Chief Olusegun Agagu was required to "refund the sum of $3.5 to the national treasury being sums he stole from the defunct Nigeria Airways Limited (NAL) being part settlement of the botched lease purchase agreement". In all, persons indicted by the Justice Nwazota’s panel were required to refund $66.3 million being sums of monies traceable to their individual accounts.

The judicial panel looked at the operations of Nigeria Airways from January 1983- December 1999. The federal government in accepting the reports of the panel stated that: "Government accepts recommendations in items (a) to (i) and directs the federal ministry of justice and police to recover the money", the indictment of Prince (Dr) Chief Olusegun Agagu falls within that purview (a)-(i).

Interestingly the same federal government led by President Olusegun Obasanjo leading PDP party leaders who were all dressed in red clothes were handing flags of the PDP to Chief Olusegun Agagu and other Southwest gubernatorial candidates as the party representatives in the upcoming April 2007 general elections, ironically President Obasanjo pointed in the direction of Olusegun Mimiko, Chief Agagu’s opponent accusing him of corruption and promising that the EFCC would investigate him for corruption. Sources at the EFCC told Sahararareporters that they are yet to receive any petition from anyone accusing Mimiko of corruption, but promised that he will be thoroughly investigated should such petition be received by the EFCC.

Saharareporters gathered that shortly after President Obasanjo returned from the Southwest PDP rally in Akure, Ondo State in which 3 people were killed, he was handed a petition on the Justice Nwazota’s judicial panel recommendations on Governor Agagu. The president was told that the police had already taken statements from Chief Agagu on the issue as far back as 2005. The president was said to be confused and asked that the petition be made secret while the PDP leadership tries to reach out to the petition writers for settlement, since they were PDP members.

The petition, our investigators learnt came from governorship candidates from the North, South-South and South-East who accuse the president of protecting his fraudulent "Yoruba candidate brothers" –especially in Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo States-while other PDP candidates equally accused of corruption in other regions were denied the same opportunity by the party leadership.

According to section 182 of the Nigerian constitution, anyone indicted for fraud by a judicial panel of inquiry is not fit to run for office.

Also Saharareporters has uncovered the fraud perpetrated by former Oyo State governor, Otunba Alao Akala since 2003, they include a rice import scam in 2003 in which Alao Akala, then deputy governor of Oyo State, was responsible for importing 360,000 bags of rice through an import waiver granted by the presidency. Though a bag of rice sold at a retail price of N4, 200 in Lagos, Otunba Alao Akala claimed they were imported for N5, 250 per bag. The total sum of this scam was N1.8 billion; it is unclear if the governor, Chief ladoja knew about this scam as our source insisted that the money was shared between Alao Akala and chief Lamidi Adedibu who facilitated the granting of the import waiver from the presidency.

While in power as the illegal governor of Oyo State, Otunba Akala was engaged in a book publishing scam. Sources at the EFCC told Saharareporters that a major book publishing outfit, MacMillan publishers were involved and had been invited by the EFCC to explain why they helped Otunba Alao Akala forge vouchers which put the publishing of books that ordinarily sold for N350 at N750, which allowed Otunba Alao Akala to pocket N756 million from the deal. The contracts were initially for 1.8 million primary school textbooks in mathematics, English Language and Integrated Sciences.

Further frauds were also discovered in the computerization of payrolls for teachers and civil servants in Oyo State. Though the entire computerization project was done at once at the sum of N20 million, Otunba Alao Akala was said to have broken it into two, namely : (1) Computerization of Primary school teachers payroll which he claimed cost N20 million; (2) Computerization of Secondary School teachers and Civil Servants payroll claimed to cost N182 million.

The governor was however exposed when it was discovered that Oyo State had more primary school teachers than secondary school and civil servants combined together. While there are 25,000 primary school teachers in the state, there are only 14,000 secondary school teachers and 10,500 civil servants in the state. Therefore, it didn’t make logical sense that N182 million was spent to computerize the payroll of secondary school teachers and civil servants while N20 million was spent on 25,000 primary school teachers.

Saharareporters sources said that only N20 million was expended on the entire computerization project. Also traced to Otunba Akala is another N780 million road construction contracts he re-awarded to construction companies owned by Chief Lamidi Adedibu and the ‘purchase" of a refurbished generator already paid for by Oyo State in 2004, though the generator was originally purchased for N1.4 million in 2004. EFCC sources said it re-appeared in the state expenditure in 2006 as a newly purchased electrical generator for N20 million after the painting was changed.

How can the PDP loose the presidential election? Which other party is as popular among MOST Nigerians as they are? Even from the exit polls published in Newspapers, the PDP were consistently in the lead in most states.
