You call 24hours power supply for over 3 weeks now a slight improvement
Yes it is that is because it might not be feasible on the long run

lack ability to pay or were not forced to pay?
Even in the most developed country you will force to pay bill or taxes, why not in Nigeria.
Let's say all illegal connection were disconnected today and the installation of meter is order, can't we have uninterrupted power?
We lack political will power

You still do not understand the basic issues in the power industry. Today the Gencos generate 7,000 MW. But the Discos can only collect 4,000MW for distribution.

The remaining 3,000MW is lost due to inefficiencies in the transmission and distribution system. Now, instead of a company like Ikeja Disco to share this 4,000MW across board to everyone who has a prepaid meter as well as those on estimated billing who are paying their bills, they choose to take a huge chunk of it and give to the rich people in Magodo, who want to pay a higher tariff, than what is approved for them to pay. So how is this fair to those on the approved tariff plan? shocked

It means the larger share will be given to the rich, while the poor, ordinary and average people in other districts outside Magodo are left with low epileptic power supply, irrespective of whether they have recharged their meter or not, as power supply will hardly get to them them.

The consumers of electricity have been pleading for prepaid meters. Is it their fault that they have not been given prepaid meters? So why blame them for non-payment?

The poor, ordinary and average people in other districts outside Magodo will have to continue suffering epileptic power supply, because Ikeja Disco wants to please the Magodo residents. Now do you understand the simple logic?

Oga, your response shows that you still know very little about the power sector in Nigeria.

People are against estimated bills, because what they are being billed is NOT commensurate with the amount of power they receive!

Even if all illegal connection were disconnected today and the installation of meter is put in order, we will still NOT have adequate power supply! Why? Our DISCOs distribution network can only distribute 4,000MW per day out of the 7,000MW per day, generated by the GENCOs. The remaining 3,000 MW is lost during transmission, due to poor infrastructure and the DISCOs ineffective operations.

Our estimated demand for power is actually much higher than this. Oga, please do the math. The DISCOs are not doing you any favours.

In 2015, power supply in Nigeria averaged 3.1 GW, which is estimated to be only a third of the country's minimum demand.

Doesn't the disco have subsisting contracts to provide power to every domestic subscriber at n21 per kwh?

Then all of a sudden Magodo people show up with wads of extra cash and ikedc breaches it's agreements with everyone else to take Magodo money? Nigerians need to put on their thinking caps for us to make any amount of progress in this country.
