blamingthedevil: The why is your Obas, MURIC and most of you unity begging...? You have education, sophistication, seaport, airport, rail system and you are afraid to rule yourself... The SE region control more than 60% of all cargo import in the country... The region contribute more than 45% of the more than $16 billion diaspora remittance...per year Saying the region is irrelevant, means you are an utterly weak thinker. The region has only asked that they be treated as other regions especially the SW and the north in infrastructural development. Have you imagined how the SW will feel, when the SE has the airports, seaports, rail systems, etc, etc...and they have none? This why the SE think the can do it better if they own their own place. Take a look at Anambra airport...it took less than 2years to complete it....compared to Enugu airport the central government have been building for the past 50 years. 3 Likes |

Redcrafton: Actually, silly mugu, it was Agui Ironsi who scuttled the regional arrangement that existed just to expand Igbo domination. It was also Igbo soldiers that truncated our nascent and burgeoning democracy out of jealousy. Go and ask ya palm wine tapping father to tell you the truth if he still has balls. 2 Likes |

RodgersAkpafu: Don't allow yourself to be deceived by the antics of the enemies. Sometimes we fail to think deeply and consider issues from other people's point of view. Apart from ikwerre, ogba and ika, the rest other Igbo groups in SS and Benue are pan Igbo in their worldview. Have you really considered that these groups I mentioned, aside ikwere are all minorities in the states and regions they're currently forced in? Since the Biafra war ended, the Nigerian government made Igbophobia a national pass time. We were oppressed and grossly marginalized. It was so bad that some of these Igbo groups at the periphery couldn't help but promote their clans as ethnic nationalities to escape Igbo national stigma. In the old Rivers State, the Ijaws were dominant and the Nigerian government empowered them to oppress Igboid groups in the state. I once watched a video documentary of one of such Igboid groups complaining to a reporter that their lands have been taken from them and they were being prevented from working in the oil industry. They said when they complain, they were told to go to East Central State! The same feelings were suffered by other Igboid groups in the Mid West. It was these oppressions that led to the Igbo denial of these people because they felt it was a way for them to survive. The Nigerian government also promoted it to greater heights, "distance yourself from Igbos of East Central State (which is today's SE) and enjoy benefits but stick with them and suffer what they're suffering. Based on that, Igbo communities bearing oil were ceded to Rivers State. Also, in continuation of that policy, Buhari always considered Igbos outside SE for appointment while ignoring those of SE. Minster of state for petroleum, CBN governor, cheif of army staff etc. However, once it becomes clear that Igbos of SE are going to leave Nigeria by way of UN organized referendum, I can bet you that no Igboid group except probably ikwerre would want to be left behind. The reason is this, all these people bear Igbo names and look like Igbos, and once Igbos vote to leave Nigeria, there would be enormous anger and hostility against Igbos particularly by Northerners and SS minorities especially Ijaws and others would capitalize on it to oppress them. It happened in 1970 and would definitely happen with greater ferocity once Biafra leaves Nigeria. Even Yorubas wouldn't want to stay in Nigeria anymore once Igbos leave then how much more Igboid groups? In summary, no one is forcing anyone instead let's allow nature to take its course. Any Igbo from SE begging or trying to coerce Igbos of SS is only doing so out of ignorance. Mark my words today, they are the ones that would beg to join us at the eleventh hour! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Just look at all these Southerners up there destroying each other over the decision of a group of Northern paedophiles. Are all of you crazy? Your biggest enemy is the Fulani caliphate and the Fulani-dominated cabal that is destroying this country and it's future and the only thing you idiots are interested in is abusing and fighting each other. Something must be wrong with you people oooo. Are you guys blind? Are you people brain-dead? How can you people that claim to be more educated/exposed/enlightened than the Northerners still manage to be this dumb? Are you guys cursed to forever be slaves to the Northern-elite hegemony? Look at youths that suppose to be the future still carrying over battles mistakes and misdeeds from their fathers' and grandfathers' past. Divide-and-rule is still being used on you guys and you're helping them by going at each other's throats instead of working together to fulfill the unlimited potential that a United South can offer. You guys and your generations yet unborn, will suffer heavy consequences if you don't change this stupid mentality... 5 Likes |

Allow the igbo groups in cross rivers state to decide for themselves through referendum if they says otherwise so be it. Redcrafton: I think it was Azikiwe that lost it in 1954 as a result of greed and short-sightedness, on the part of the Igbo Nation. The price of his actions or inactions, is what the Yeebos, are paying today. My opposition to secession, By Nnamdi Azikiwe. When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual. That was when we began to use that expression – ‘The Indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation’ – and that to secede would amount to treason. And so, a debate ensued. The Secretary of State then was Oliver Littleton, later Lord Chandos and he was very much interested and that was his first time in saying that the people of African descent were people actually debating at a high level. So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded. Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason We adjourned. The next day, I had to reply. I availed myself of the opportunity to, well, demolish the arguments of my friend and I cited the case of United States which based its constitution on that of the Swiss Confederation. That is Switzerland. I pointed out a case, I think, that of Texas versus White, where Mr. Salmon Chase, the Chief Justice laid down the principle – he was really an arbiter – that the union was intended to be perpetual and indivisible and that any attempt to divide the union by secession was treasonable. The North (NPC) supported Action Group. The question was then: Should we have secession? The Colonial Office came to our rescue. You know, the usual principle of Britain – ‘divide and rule’ (laughs) but this time, it was in our favour. So, the colonial office backed us. Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason and that was what led to this war, because Col. Ojukwu seceded and so violated the constitution. — Excerpt: Nnamdi Azikiwe’s interview with New Nigeria in 1975. https://www.thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2017/06/25/my-opposition-to-secession-zik/#.Xy9j7NbRuxk.gmail 1 Like |
