Naija used passat i would not advice you to buy because most nigerians (i mean 95%) dont know how to take care of passat models from 2003-till date. If you dont know the history of the car and how the owner had it, do not buy!
hmmm.I am in love with volks product..so sir what dou think I can do if I finally decide to buy it...cause I know 90-95percent of them are sold cause of problem...

Thanks, my oga at the top. Really appreciate this.

Lastly (no vex for your boy biko grin grin grin), I noticed from your profile that you were dealing in ATF at one point. Abeg, do you know of the recommended transmission oil for a Golf 4 or any other ATF that is equally good, as well as the current price? Do you still deal in it or if you know the contact of anyone or where I can source for it, will be really grateful. Once again, apologies for the wahala. No vex, sir grin

Re: The Audi And Volkswagen Issues Resolution Thread by Jashuston: 12:40pm On Jan 26
Siena, I've become a big fan of this thread. I'm having problems with my 2001 audi a6 2.7 quattro. The car has 178000 miles on it. The cel is on, however there have never been any red indicator lights. Recently after a short trip the car would not start. The engine cranks but won't start. Sprayed some carb cleaner into the intake, it started then died.

Previous to this the oil pressure sensor light flickered on and off a few times. It would then show a loss of oil pressure briefly then recover.

I used the obd scanner and it gave 3 codes p1475, p0421, and p0431. I have absolutely no idea what those mean but I'm fairly certain none of those are good.

In addition, the car during the summer runs hotter than normal no matter what. It routinely goes one notch past the center mark with the ac on. I hear fans whirring but they don't appear to help. The engine seems strong, but if you step on the had, the rpm meter spikes but the car doesn't accelerate . It hesitates then speeds up.

Lastly, there is a hose connected to nothing. It must have some purpose. Not any obvious places to connect it too. I've attached a pic of the mystery hose.

I love the car but I'm ready to send it over a cliff. I'm a mechanical idiot but I can follow directions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. One more thing, I'm beginning to suspect my local mechanic is a bigger idiot than I.

Hello all!

I'm dedicating this thread to owners of Audi and Volkswagen models. There would appear to be a gap in the Nigerian Auto Industry, with regards to correct repair, diagnosis, service and general maintenance of these cars. I would like to try addressing these issues, as much as I can remotely, from a distance. I don't promise to always get it right, I can but try. Of course, the more details you give, the better.

Please use the format as shown below:

01) Make.
02) Model.
03) Engine size.
04) Transmission type.
05) Model year.
06) Spec (Euro or US).
07) Drive configuration.

As an example, here is how my details will be posted:

03) 4,2L V8 32V.
04 5-Speed Tiptronic.

For a compatible diagnostic scanner for VAG models, you're looking £30 - £45.

Service manual, there are free downloads. Look here:

Or simply Google Elsa Windows Audi, and take your pick.

I have a 2006 vw Passat FSI 2.0T. Now where do I begin? The car starts smoothly, and idles very well, but when in motion it just stalls and goes off. Then it is difficult to start. It is an auto transmission I must add. I have tried everything. Please I really appreciate any input.
