@ lindabong

take heart what your going through ,must be tough but jus rememba that for gold to be refined it must go through fire. Work on your self and determine to be the best person u can be cos no one else will do it for you.

@ post

I spent my first decade and a bit in naij and I've been in the U.K for 7 years now, almost done with uni, thank God! Am glad this was the way it was cos I've learnt there's so much more to life and made so many friends in particular those from other African countries. I hate injustice and I sometimes find discrimination hard to deal with but I've learnt 2 take it in my stride cos at the end of the day I believe in myself and I know im a great being, black or white. So keep you r head up and know your value.

tearface:

I sincerely think its not fair! How can You subject a child to that?I mean its torture.I'm a very private person and I can stand unclothedness. When I was in the Uni I run out of the toilet each time I enter it and there's a naked girl taking a bath, And that is at my age.How much more a child?I think it is things like this that expose our children to sex at a young agewhich are all complaining about today. angry angry

I feel u always naked girls showering in the open at the gym. You would think that in this day and age communal /open showering in public would be outlawed. Even at secondary school age that stuff isnt right. I remember some teachers getting an eyeful when they were doing their morning 'rounds.'

YES multiple births all the way. Even if I had 6 at a go I wouldn't mind cheesy

But seriously a set of twins and a set of triplets or 2 sets of twins, one female, one male would be great.
Travel / Re: People Afraid of Flying: What Remedy? by Ajebota(f): 8:41pm On Jun 08, 2008
lol so im not the only one that prays fervently on board. Good to know.

@ post: I too would like a remedy. Something that helps me though was attending an aeronautical engineering seminar ( had no choice in the matter by the way, it wasnt voluntary!) that explained the concept of turbulence in planes. Dont remember much of what was said but basically, turbulence can not cause an air plane to crash. So whenever the turbulence becomes almost unbearable I keep reminding myself that it doesnt mean a crash is evident.

LadyT:

Debo so say I am disappointed in this topic is an understatement. undecided

I believe you are right and everyone has a right to have a preference in what he or she wants as a life partner.

But can YOU not see that you and your fellow men (who agree) with your cave man like attitude is the cause of many women lying about their virginity in the first place. Plus I believe any man that is not a virgin has no right to request he marries a virgin.

OK so you are a virgin and you want to marry one FINE. But can you tell me what makes a virgin a better person as apposed to a non-virgin?

Not once have a heard anything about religion all I'm hearing is your ego.

You want to know that its only your John Thomas that has gained entry into her Kitty Kat.

Because we are so superficial and wicked we cause people to lie just to please us.

Why can't we all expect that people make mistakes. You have men and woman who have had children in a previous relationship terrified of telling their new partners, because some bitches and bastards will reject them simply because there is a child.

If you can't show people that you expect that they can make mistakes and things happen no one will be honest with you.

If virginity is what you think will be the glue to hold your house together you will have a nasty shock when it all comes crumbling down around your over the top ego.

This goes for men and women lets try our best to be more honest. If he or she doesn't want you because your not a virgin to hell with them and move on remember its their lost not yours.

very well said.
Romance / Re: French Wedding Annuled Over Bogus Virginity: Nigeria Next! by Ajebota(f): 1:02pm On May 31, 2008
all these men claiming to "know" that their wives were not virgins when they married them. Olodos. How can you "know?" As some intelligent ppl like saucekid pointed out, hymen can be broken at any point in a young lady's life, some ladies are even born without one. Stuff like dids REALLY pisses me off. Rubbish oshi. grin

Family / Re: Nigerian Men Who Rule their Homes With Terror by Ajebota(f): 4:36pm On May 28, 2008
gabrywyl:

I come from Labuan Island Malaysia and where I come from, the women are the ones whom are controlling their husbands with terror. My grandmother treats her husband like a dog. She would expect him to give her money for gambling and she would sleep with other men and he would do the house work and take care of the children. And then when he died, that was the end of his suffering but now, women at home still rules but not as bad compared to my grandmother's time. Now its like my mother will make all decision making and my father would agree to it. The money comes from both sides but still my mother is the head of the family. This applies to alot of family's here in where I am living but I think starting from my generation, theres starting to be more of an equality between both sexes. Just would like to share a story with you although its not relating to Nigerian Men. Sorry,

That's an interesting slant on the issue, but men or women, abuse is just as bad. As far as im concerned any one who abuses his / her partner is a complete failure and was not brought up well.

frank 3.16:

some girls really deserve a couple of slaps sometimes.

what does this girl thgink she is? why should she be dominering?

is she Abacha? or Obasanjo?

i still believ a couple of slaps will bring her back to order. pesonally i am not a fan of hitting women, but when she is dominering, she either bend or break

okay o. To every man, his own. Me thinks the easiest solution is break up with the girl if ya dont like it.

@poster, did u mean 'domineering' or ''dominating?' Massive difference btw the 2, like 'condescending' or 'S&M behaviour', which 1?
