t'was a long time ago, we bought bag of OMO detergent and someone mistakenly put it in the kitchen store. As my mum served my dinner (beans) NEPA took light but i was so hungry that i made way for the kitchen store to fetch garri for my beans (as a kid i add garri to my beans), unknown to me that i had OMO in the container. I had spread the OMO and started eating when the lantern was lighted. My sister saw the awful look on ma face and asked 'kilo she e?' (what happened to you?) i replied 'mo ti je OMO' (i have eaten OMO). embarassed I tot i would die o. That nite i drank palm oil like water grin
i vomited with my bowels coming clean from the power of OMO cheesy
My sis told my gf this story and i was so angry

Why do you guys like deceiving your selves with such an unnecessary phrase. The guys partnered and the partnership worked. Dbanj made Don Jazzy popular. He is the first singer that brought the producer into lime light with is "Don Don Don Jazzy" signature. smiley

You are a joker. Did you see the full list of players? Cote D'Ivoire has close to 10 players. Then how do you think that Mikel or Utaka will trump guys like Demba Ba or Papiss Cisse who have been on fire since? Not to talk of some of those Moroccan guys in Ligue 1?

Hello Justwise and other top guys, my brother just tracked his application and he was told the application is ready for collection. The issue is that he has not received an sms from vfs instructing him to do same.
Can he still go pick it up or should he wait for the sms?
Thanks

Business / Re: FG To Ban Foreign Goods That Have Local Substitutes by Guapo(m): 1:07pm On Jul 18, 2012
Seun: This is bad Economics. Most foreign goods and services have local substitutes:
- European Premier League (Nigerian Premier League)
- Calculators (Locally printed 4 figure tables)
- Guns used by the police and Army (locally made bows and arrows, cutlass)
- Wheat Flour (Garri & Cassava Flour)
- Peak/Dano Milk (Cowbell & Jago Powders)
- Aeroplanes (locally-made Canoes and Innoson Bus)
- Laptops by Apple, HP, Dell (expensive locally assembled laptops with inferior specs).
- Facebook (Nairaland)
- Google (Nairaland Search)

If you were actually to ban all foreign goods with local substitutes, you'd be banning just about everything Nigerians need and love. Nigerians will be miserable. It's madness. It's not even politically feasible. If the government pursues such a policy, the end result is that the government will end up banning goods that are produced locally by the friends of the people in government. Political donors, basically. This short-sighted policy is a recipe for institutionalizing crony capitalism.

Travel / Re: Are Nigerian Student Visa Applications To UK Mostly Bogus? by Guapo(m): 6:16pm On Jul 17, 2012
Its not true! Most go to the UK with legitimate reasons. ok lets say 70% go for study, while 30% go through that means to scatter for jand and disappear grin . Breaking down the 70% legit applications, you'l find out that like justwise said only about 20% of that class of students default base on circumstance while the 80% study and conplete the program.

let them introduce the face me i face u ish, naijirian students will still enter UK tongue

I told ma broda who is applying next month about the proposed introduction of interviews, and he said "ehen, no be english we wan talk?" cheesy abeg

Politics / Re: Jonathan's Power Reform Is Positive, working and on track by Guapo(m): 5:46pm On Jun 18, 2012
I believe the power sector will soon experience the transformation enjoyed by the telecoms sector.
Ever since that transformation occurred in telecoms, I changed ma view of the whole economy.
Some sectors are really experiencing change.
Corruption has eaten deep to the very core of our existence as a nation, power issues should be history by now.
I don't blame those who can't feel the change yet. They will only feel the change when they see it. But after going thru d program of d present administration, I am fully convinced that the transformation is closer than ever before. But this sector needs the Petroleum sector to step on d gas pedal with d issue of gas supply. With this slow motion, I don't see a remarkable improvement in power until like 5yrs time. A country like nigeria needs power generation of up to 50k MW, at dis pace it may take a decade to get there.
GEJ wants to solve this power issue, that I believe.
Gone are the days of queuing at a NITEL booth just to call US, I call today from ma bedside. I am positive I'll be saying something similar about electricity soon. Hw I wish our leaders av no trace of corruption in them, naija wuld av soared higher than dis.
