Student life in Leeds is great, the best in Yorkshire, vibrant city with two universities and plenty plenty colleges, a lot of student accommodations scatters around Leeds city centre and beyond.

Leeds transport system is good, has the best train station in west Yorkshire, 45mins away from Manchester but about 3-4hrs away from London by train.

The accommodations close to university and the city centre are pricey, but if you can afford it then you are in for a good time because its a lively place to be.

There are student jobs in Leeds but you have to search well to get one because things are hard thesedays and jobs are not as available as it used to be.

I don't know much about employment rating for Leeds university but considering the fact that its a good university and in a great city, the job rating will be high.

Sheffield and Leeds are similar, both have two universities, fantastic student community, great social life, biggest train stations and about 45mins away from each other.

Sheffield is in south of Yorkshire while Leeds is in west. Just like in Leeds, the accommodation and job situations are similar.

My long term goal is Phd preferably in Canada.

Sure you can apply for your Phd program in Canada from the UK, you don't have to return to Nigeria for that.

accomondation
part time jobs
low cost of living
which one would you recommend?

What you mean by rubbish UNI'S? Even a college degree holder competes with graduates from top universities for jobs.
