Work has resumed on the Owerri/Port Harcourt expressway. Even if its a campaign strategy, Jonathan requires commendation for the resumption of work after 2 years of neglect. Since the bad portion of tbe road is short, I expect it completed before elections.

Meanwhile here is the Obasanjo constructed Owerri/Onitsha road near NNPC mega station Owerri.

I don't think he should be commended for that..i hate people doing things for elections or campaigns after all the sufferings on that road...i will not be surprised to hear that other abandoned se federal roads are being worked on now..that owerri elele road is nddc project though

^^^This looks nice.....a solid job was done on this road, and this is why it's lasting this long! It seems it's the only/major benefit the South East got from OBJs gov't!

Also, i notice how the road is clean and free of sediments and rubbish!

Just wondering if imsg can build an owerri bye pass tiad that would connect Onitsha owerri express around irete to connect to obinze towards ihiagwa nekede and bust out at naze futo junction so that vehicles going to aba would not enter owerri proper.

You do not need to enter Owerri proper whether going to or coming from Aba. Okorovha led government already built bypasses. Anybody driving into Owerri has not been there since 2013.

I know that as you are coming into owerri from aba you can now enter owerri by going right at naze futo junction to a road that connects to wetheral road around st mulumba but I do not seem to remember seeing anyone if one is entering owerri from Onitsha road

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:13pm On Dec 17, 2014
Owerre has the worst road network but you have the time to go elsewhere.

Below are the major thoroughfares in Owerre. Please come and dispute this place.

Please tell us why Okorosha has borrowed so much but the roads are in shambles?

Nedu09:
1) Twin story building at Mbaukwu street Fegge.. is it new to you that 80% of the high rise buildings in Onitsha to be specific Fegge which i know well are built by immigrants from other Eastern states.. this house was built by an Orlu Man dealing on Stock fish and Ogbogu (pharmaceutical market) bridged head...he built like 5 high rise building in one street.. why should you guys scream that other Easterners are this and that to you?? well una sabi watin concern me....

2) look at what that man meant but you chose to shove it. i took it myself.... why would they behave like animals by blocking the major roads for offloading? pretty bad.. you know i hate it cos international people are coming here for buying and selling.. so it speaks bad of us.. isn't it? aren't they "commissioner for transport and Environs seeing this?

3)is this not the dusty and sandy roads you are not showing us? they sweep the premier road which is federal but what of other major roads like the one leading to the almighty Main Marke..

4) do you see those containers... the road is little wide but they make look narrow and tiny... okada shouted Obiakpor kadu ebe ino " Obiano where you dey" no govt presence here in onitsha only upper iweka.

4)

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:17pm On Dec 17, 2014
I know your pain. Onitsha even has better roads than owerre a sleepy town for that matter.. cool

Look at a road in Owerre with it dirty ugly Ikwerre type houses..

Abagworo:

You and Chino declared me enemy of Anambra in order to shield Peter Obi's cluelessness from the media. I have said it and will still say it again that everything overblown as Obi's achievements by you has been done more and even better by Theodore Orji. Onitsha is no different from Aba in terms of Igbo 4 storey buildings, markets and bad roads. Like Orji, Peter Obi failed to tap into the potentials of Onitsha and develop it as a revenue base or decent shopping destination. All roads leading to Main market were left in disarray and today he is sponsoring media campaign against Obiano citing the roads he failed to do. He left Anambra with the least IGR in the Southeast while in reality Anambra is meant to have the highest.

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:19pm On Dec 17, 2014
Owerre has been turned into a slum.

This is owerre they do not show us.

There is basically no difference between Owerre and Aba.

Nedu09:
1)do you see that? omus fillings station is playing on a slum cant even clean up those places...

2) i love this Plaza but no parking space..... no water system those guys fuse their moles under parked lorries

3) how do you see this.. is it condusive enough to do business?

4)okada and keke mechanics has turn all the Fegge including the mini stadium fence to workshop.. why cant we build machanic village and get them off the street? too pathetic. everyday i wake up aspect Good things and good moral from people to smile with. but reverse is the case... the dranages has gone back to waste.. Ommpa people everywhere matching on the ground when greeting. extort money from okada and keke everyday. Guy they are back....... well i pray Obiano do more to change this....

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:21pm On Dec 17, 2014
yes I agree with you because there are so many abandoned projects in Owerre and its environ.

The environment is dirty and disorganized.

Nedu09:

Hey! Guy. why do you have to insult me? this is what we called "critical and constructive criticism analysis with no form of bias or fear... this is what i mate on ground.. do you need to read meaning in every comment? if you so then you are an aSShOle.... do you think you have the progress of the state in your heart more than i do?

You are very correct. Let us hope we get it right next year.

IGBOSON1:
Imo State can only benefit with constructive criticisms....directing the gov'ts attention to where it's needed! If a well balanced assessment of governance isn't encouraged, we run the risk of getting the government drunk with too much praise as they begin to rest on their oars!

Assessing governance should be a ruthless and sustained affair; this would help keep gov't on their toes!

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:37pm On Dec 17, 2014
The reality shows that Imo state has the worst roads in the EAST. It is very clear. Now let us do the pix comparison.

It is only in Imo state that one can see this sort of road.

Okorosha has failed us, we need to make him to work.
