Jonathan’s Rally: Soldiers Occupy Rivers Amiesimaka Stadium by sCun: 12:12pm On Jan 24, 2015
Battle ready soldiers have reportedly taken over the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, located in Igwuruta-Ali in Ikwerre Local Government Area, ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign rally in the stadium.

Jonathan is expected to be at the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers on January 28.

While the state government refused to approve the application from the state PDP for the use of the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium for its presidential rally, soldiers reportedly took over the place on Friday night.

Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, described the action of the PDP and the Presidency, who might have directed soldiers to forcefully enter the stadium, as criminal.

Okocha called for calm and promised that the matter would be reported to the international community.

Amaechi hasn't seen anything yet, what was he thinking? After using the stadium for his party's campaing twice, he thinks he can stop a whole President from using it? Mabye in the north but not in the ND where the Presido hails from.
What rubbish!

The soldiers should have been used to take over Sambisa forest, Baga, Gwoza, Michika and other places captured by Boko Haram instead of taking over a stadium for political campaign. Mtswss.

They are doing just that, they took over Mubi and some other towns, they will still reclaim those places from the militants.
There are enough men on ground in the north east to do that, it doesn't stop them from working in other parts of the country.

U get sense at all? The owner of the stadium, the Rivers State Government, has said it doesn't want it to be used. Why must PDP use soldiers, that are supposed to be in the North East, to forcefully take it?

You called this Federal might? Only in Nigeria will a citizen support unlawful act because of political affiliation.

Ever wondered why soldiers and policemen beat civilians at will?

Most of you guys know nothing. You just come online to post gibberish all in the name of soothing your paymasters. When the then Governor of Adamawa State under PDP, Murtala Nyako prevented Buhari from using the Stadium and the Presidential Villa [which Buhari is entitled to] in Yola (for no reason), I'm very sure you commended him. Now, Amaechi gave a reason for refusing them the use of the Stadium, you're here spewing gibberish. Anyway, from May 29th onward, when Jonathan would be in Otuoke or Prison, he wouldn't have the privilege to intimidate the opposition with Military Men.

Hypocritical PDP hypocrites.

Who is the Rivers state government? The stadium was built by Rivers people's money and over 90% of them will be very happy to see the President use the stadium.
A governor cannot overrule the interest of the people because of selfish party interests.

There is nothing unlawful about the President's act.
Any civillian who didn't constitute public nuiscance nor commit any crime that was beaten by a policeman can deal with the person if he know his right.

lol....

The COS to Ameachi says they would report the matter to the international community cheesy cheesy

That moment when the talkative little stubborn twaat gets into another fight and gets thoroughly beaten and bloodied, picks himself up, removes the dirts and cries pointedly in a thin shrill voice to the guy who just bested him: 'I go tell my mama for you '..

The Stadium belongs to the rivers people... They are all tax payers. You don't divide the people with cheap politics. If the Stadium was good enough for APC rallies, then why not PDP? Everybody is suppose to have a fair chance with government properties.

This is what happens when a rat decides to pick a fight with a lion. I will like to see Amaechi go in there to stop the soldiers.

You're ignorant than I thought. In 2012 Nigerians gathered in Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojoto, built by the Lagos State Government, to protest. The protest went smoothly and the LASG and Lagosians had no problem with it. Why did the President later deplore soldiers there to take it over?

I want to know if it's the money of PDP that was used to build the Eagle Square that made the FG to prevent Rabui Kwakwoso from using it.
