i dont understand this arguement,George Akume also won in benue,Benue voted for APC in the Presidential elections and George Akume is the minority leader, its only natural hew becomes the president of the senate.

The current Senate President, David Mark is from Benue. I think it's fair to give it to another state.

Its a pity that the people saying Bukola is a good choice for the senate president knows little or nothing about him. He was the governor of Kwara for 8 years, he then chose a figurehead governor to rule for 4 years and still kicking for another term. As an indigene of Kwara state, I can't name 7 major achievement of bukola and his figurehead governor. Bukola joining APC was just to get the post he wants and

nothing more. Will never support him

because 90% of assets in Kwara has

been taken by him, uncountable number
of hectares, houses, hotels etc
If u can name 7 achievements of Bukola in Kwara then u are a big LIAR and saying Bukola is having 90% of assets in Kwara shows that u know nothing about d state. The real asset owners in kwara state are Senator smart Adeyemi,Olobayo of royals,Jani Ibrahim,Kamoru of kamwire,Henry&George,JMK,JKK,Kawu Baraje and Muina Shagaya. If u have anything against him no problem but lying against his personality is mischievous. If Saraki is so corrupt,i don't think he would have d gut to raise an alarm on fraud on Oil subsidy.

Wow. It would be the first a father and son would have held the same office.

Akume could be the Senate Leader, and Remi Tinubu would be the chair of a "juicy" committee.

Buhari Osinbajo are good people and some few people among APC leaders but what of others corrupt politician who dump PDP to APC with there selfish interest. now the time has come for people to dance to the sound of their talking drum. You see. I keep watching the comments here in 3D and i'm amazed that it has not been mentioned that the senate presidency will be subjected to a vote which the PDP senators will be a part of. Have we 4gotten so soon how Tambuwal clinched the speakership with opposition votes?

Smart Adeyemi owns the biggest hotel in ilorin.. he started as NUJ president first in kwara before becoming national NUJ president. That was how he started becoming relevant. He has always been an ilorin man and most kogi west guys...they preferred being identified with kwara rather than the igbiras in kogi central and kogi north.

In as much as I wanted saraki as the senate president in my heart , my head says no to the idea,he ruled my states for 8 good years ,the states treasury was selfishly drained ,that not enough went to the capital market to collect huge bonds which our now puppet governor Ahmed is gladly paying. All the capital project he put in place during his 8yrs were from the bond he collected that include (Kwara state university,School of Aviation Ilorin,Songa Farm). He quickly rushed a documentary on AIT with Ahmed 4yrs ago when it was clear the zimbabwe farmers were used to scam kwarans. Rumours have it that Saraki's wife still receives the first lady's allowances even when Ahmed's wife occupy's the stupid office of the first lady. The sentiments is shared by hundreds of thousands who voted for PDP in the last election. I am for change though but we must admit he escape this time around by riding on GMB's back. The rift btw him and his late father then was as a result of bukky not giving enough to his father out of the state's allocation. Let me shut my mouth oooo. Sai bukky Sai leader . Baba we dey follow u oloye.

Don't mind that idiot. Saraki is a man with a vision. Look at the way he took advantage of Zimbabwean farmers, during the land review, and brought them to kwara state. The communities and fulanis are benefiting from that programme today. I was told liquid milk is available in Naija today like here in the UK and other developed economy. Kudos to him if eventually emerged the senate president.

Your head de there. More like pay back time.

I see a similar scenario in 2011 playing out again where tambuwall insisted and eventually won the HOR speakership as against PDP's preferred candidate mulikat adeola akande with the help and support of opposition then.

I trust PDP members Mark et al, to resist and refuse saraki, the obvious preferred candidate of the froggy-eyed, greedy jagabantis and opt for akume.

The unholy and ungodly coming together of the aggrieved politicians congress (APC) will crumble sooner than expected.

We are all eyes and ears....eagerly

I believe Saraki shld become the Senate president but in the spirit of fairness and national unity the post of speaker of HOA shld be given to SS and SE considering the great risk taken by their members no matter how relatively small their numbers might have been. Most of them suffered gory attacks and rejection, some lost their lives, and some became permanently incapacitated just because of their believe in "Change". Therefore alloting them the post will give them a sense of belonging since what we want is a govt. of national unity. The SW gave block vote to GEJ in 2011 yet we didn't occupy any major position despite that heavens did not fall. GMB shld be careful of ethnic sycophants from his people whom in their selfish interest will want to cause disaffection btw him and his allies from other regions. My humble submission!!

The sarakis firm grip on these people is so annoyingly amazing at this age and time, such that one wonders the kind of juju he uses on them. The same people he uses every year for ritual when the ignorant and hungry people stampede themselves to death all in the name of getting a share of their plate of rice and meat from sarakis 'benevolence'...lol

If Saraki is senate president, the anti corruption image that Buhari has cultivated will be rubbished. Nobody will believe APC and the promises it made Nigerians. This is where Buhari puts his feet down and demand someone else. Saraki is poster boy for corruption and has so many corrutption cases on-gong. how would a hugely corruption Saraki shepherd the legislation reforms that the new NASS is going to face, including the reform of EFCC. Buhari should not fail even before he starts. Tinubu will try to load the system with a bunch of his fellow looters so as to dilute the scrutiny he is going to face as a new anti corruption drive gets underway. Unless Buhari is going to tell Nigerians that with his wide knowledge of the Nigerian landscape, he can't find somewhat honest people he will work with - people who backgrounds are not as clouded as the Tinubus and the Sarakis.

Let us get real.
The choice of a senate president is not Buhari's sole perogative.
He can have an express will in the choice or who finally makes his candidate but not stuff like senate president.
GEJ had a different choice to Tambuwal, see how that choice went?
The man has to choose his battles carefully.
I don't know what you heard but the change I want does not mean Buhari turning stones into bread.
I simply want a change from business as usual.
Saraki might not be the best man for that but I do not see any better candidate in the Senate. Unless you want Buhari to hold both positions.
