Am glad I didn't vote for the most clueless president elect ever. Exploration in basin is a waste of money that has been going for years, the amount of oil if successful is not commercially viable..He is going to do it only to satisfy his northern ppl. ...what an idi-ot. ..

Why spending scarce resources at a time when the price of oil is half and supply out weight demand?

I hope the Niger Deltans are reading this. It is now glaring that Nigeria still exist because of the huge crude oil deposit in your land and once Hausas discover oil, Nigeria becomes history.

My question is: "will they pay back for all the crude oil money that was used to develop the North?"

You already know the answer.

The money wasn't used to develop the north it was squandered on their homes in Abuja, their children's foreign school fees and imported 'luxury' crap.

Why would anyone want to stop the north from breaking away?

What has the south benefited from being attached to northern Nigeria?

From the amalgamation until now northern Nigeria has failed to pull its weight.

Are the niger deltans goin to sit and watch dis. Is it not their money they would use for the development. The better start making demand s now they have a collateral or else they would be sidelined for ever.

This is my experience, my opinion. Expect your mileage to vary.

The souths busted that the northerners are parasites and liabilitie to the nation that they didn't add value to Nigeria as a whole, they forgot the time when Sardauna serves and allocated to them agriculture founds when the oil was not discovered, now you can see how God do his blessings for North, their mouth will now be shut down

no sane mind will ever try and stop the North from breaking out of this failed marriage.

The North has been dragging the rest of the regions backwards since 1914.

the south will hold a carnival if you guys decide to break out.

The north has never been economically viable, that was why northern and southern Nigeria were amalgamated - to make life easier for the lazy British administrators.

There has never been a time when the north has not been subsidized by the south. Economic output has always been greater in the south and will be for the foreseeable future - it's a matter of culture. Open societies foster trade and ingenuity.

This hypocrite has a way of being corrupt. He knows these things are not viable and the gullible youths will be saying he is not corrupt.

He wants to waste Nigeria's money. The north is not economically viable. They don't have tradition that welcomes and sustain success.

Watch out for this would-be uncompleted project.
