Goodmorning. *just to update you guys* I have received a mail saying a decision has been made on my application. M so excited even tho I cant say what the decision is. Lolll. It is allowed na abi.
Will just wait till next week before going to pick up either I receive another email or not. Loll.

But something thats funny is that my hubby has not received this mail that a decision has been made. We applied together .is it that our application waa treated seperately. *just wondering* . Even when he is my sponsor.

I will just wait tho.

Yes, u pay extra 18k for using Ikeja centre. Paid online as u re paying for d visa

No extra cost for VI centre, asides d visa fee

Thanks Ogreene. Please what is the difference between Ikeja and VI centres? Please advise. Thank you

Good day. Can I apply for my UK visa around 20th-21st September? My current visa will expire on October 3rd. This is because I will be in lagos mid-September (I don't live in lagos). I was thinking of using this opportunity to renew my visa. My next trip to the UK is around December. Thank you.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by OGreene: 8:13am On Aug 15, 2015
From what we have seen, using Ikeja centre is generally faster and the applications are treated here in Lagos. VI applications re sent to Sheffield UK wch explains why it takes a while tho sometimes it's faster dan expected and I think there will be more scrutiny. #MyOpinion#

I hv used both centres and confirmed the Sheffield vs Lagos thing and processing time.

Just make sure you did a thorough application, you can submit anywhere, but if u re running short of time, Ikeja is ur best bet if u cnt pay for premium service

Because of the N18,000 its a bit hard to get available date in VI centre, available dates might be two weeks from the date of submitting online form. I had to wait two weeks from 29th June to 10th July 2015

So ur application took how many weeks at VI Submission center.

Yea, d available dates for submission in VI is always far, abt 2 weeks unlike Ikeja centre whr u get dates as early as 2 days later.

When I used VI centre, I submitted online May 29. Got appointment for June 11th. While for Ikeja, online appl was July 15th and appointment was July 18, July 17th was free tho.

Some emails(he's not big on those)....lots of Whatsapp chats when that came up...phone calls...he never did Facebook at all.

How did you keep in contact with him since he left Nigeria? Emails, text, facebook etc?

So ur application took how many weeks at VI Submission center.

I paid and submitted online form Monday 29th June and the only available date for submission at VI Centre was Friday 10th July. Submitted Friday 10th July and by Saturday 18th July i got a mail from Sheffield that a decision has been made on my application, Friday 24th July VI Centre sent a mail that i will be informed in few days to come for pick up, Friday 31st July no mail from VI Cenre but i went there and my package was waiting for me.

I have never used Ikeja but @OGreene has given enough info about Ikeja.

If you have plenty of time especially your purposed travel date, use VI and save yourself N18,000 otherwise pay N18,000 and use Ikeja.

Best of Luck

Prof justwise. Thank you for great contributions.

Please pardon me if I am bordering you. Truth is I don't want to get it wrong this time.

Final questions before I submit:

(1) What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? I imputed 1635 GBP and my breakdown is thus;

Flight Ticket 694 GBP
Accommodation 420 GBP
Food 321 GBP
Transportation 200 GBP

Total is 1635 GBP

(2) The total amount of money you have for this trip ( I imputed 1900 GBP, because I have set aside 265 GBP for Miscellaneous)

(3) What is the total amount in GBP(£)? (I imputed 1635 GBP)

Please note that my company ( own by me is paying for the trip)

I need to be guided if I have done the right thing or not.

Also, please note that I have the funds available.

FrontPageLawyer,

Why not include ur financial position for better comparison against the budget you hv stated; plus d duration of ur trip.

£321 for food? Sounds much

Print those and add it to your application package then concentrate on other refusal points raised by the ECO

Thank you very much Ogreene

It is a 3 Days Business visit to carry out pre-inspection of equipment with a reputable Engineering coy before they are sea freighted to Nigeria.

Total monthly income is 410k

Company's account balance 6M which we are submitting Since it is a business visit.

I don't have idea of transportation and food cost in Manchester.

Please advise if 321 GBP and 130 GBP for Feeding and Transportation respectively will do. Please it it important. I need to get this right.

Thank you

4-5 days

Thank you

Then £642 for food alone for both of you is over the top, £300 for both sound reasonable.

Transport for both should be £150 maximum, with Oyster card you can go round London with less. You can use it both in London buses and tubes

Is it now reasonable for me to say;

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? 1344 instead of 1565

The total amount of money I have for this trip 1600 GBP setting aside 256 GBP for Miscellaneous.

God Bless Justwise and Ogreene. I have really bothered you people. Sorry for the troubles.

Yes you can apply for renewal even while your current visa is still running. You do not have to wait for it to expire before you do.
