My dear, thank God for a safe trip. Don't ever listen to anyone and their negativity. Focus on the reason you are there and on God and all your dreams would come through when God says it is time. Enjoy yourself to the fullest. I wish you all the best....

What questions were you asked at the airports, both Nigerian and British?

The first thing you need to do is save your money. You won't even get a visa if you cannot show the full amount of your school fees and maintenance fees.

thanks no questions asked but evidence of if am a genuine student just show your CAS admisssion letter and then a receipt from the school showing your payment try not to bribe those customs stare at their name tags so they would know you are serious and dont carry much tag too. the british guys would question you as if youve committed a crime coming to their country the guys at aberdeen went as far as asking bout my parents occupation the company they work for and whether i would love to remain after studies.

hey are you aware of the UK immigration rules i doubt it would also be tough for you to see a post graduate diploma course in the UK only canada offers that check the canadian thread. you would most likely be in a college or one of those mushroom schools if you get a 'post graduate diploma"" admission. most college students cant work anymore.

Hi Justwise

Just a quick question.....please, do you know if students still get the 20hours work permit.

I know i read on UKBA site that the new rule affects college students but someone told me his friend wasnt given.

Wanna know which is true really.

Those that were issued visa after the new rule, were you all given 20hours work permit?

Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by ttmacoy: 12:01am On Sep 15, 2015
Hello All,

Just to let you know that many of the companies in the UK who sponsor for work permits now have now opened their graduate programs.

For those studying finance and business related courses, the big 4 firms are one i usually recommend as they sponsor a lot of international students each year and provide good training ground. This does not apply to only the big 4 but pretty much most of the major companies who sponsor for work permits.

http://www.ey.com/UK/en/Careers/Students/Graduate-Opportunities

http://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/careers/students.html

https://www.kpmgcareers.co.uk/graduates/graduate-programmes

http://www.pwc.co.uk/careers/student/graduateopportunities/our-opportunities.html

This mostly applies to those in the UK who are just starting their final year of their bachelors programmes and want to work in the UK afterwards. Those studying for their masters can also apply but it is usually more difficult due to lack of history in the UK and no time to adapt etc but no harm trying.

For those starting their second year of bachelors degrees, this is the time to start applying for internships which would make it easier to secure graduate roles by the time you graduate.
