The slab act with the column like a flat slab and also act directly on the partition walls, making the wall to be non load bearer.


We have some set of constraints while considering these options, our constrain are as follows
1. Speed of job because we need to roof the building as soon as possible due to excessive rain on the building
2. Cost of the fascia because we need a relatively cheap/affordable fascia
3.durability because we need fascia that will stand the test of time
4. Finally, beauty aesthetics because we need a facial that will come out beautiful.

I am back with more updates after today's work.

I am still on the polystyrene fascia
I will be highlighting all the important things or activity to carried out for those that will like to use this method for their future work.

Polystyrene comes in three meters each apart from the ridge or Valley. All other part comes in three meters.

Polystyrene is measured in linear meters and not per meter square.

Polystyrene can be bought in standard size of 450mm x 450mm or 300mm x 300mm. It can also be made on special order.

The 450mm x 450mm goes for around N4,500
While 300mm x 300mm is sold for N2600

The polystyrene also comes with a special cement used to join the point of contact between polystyrene.

Simple procedure follow in the installation of the fascia.

1. The head beam is boarded only at the inner part and the outer part is left open.

2. A gap from the top of the head beam wood equal to the fascia height is then allowed (450mm or 300mm)
A 2 x 4 is nail in the outer part of the house to receive the polystyrene fascja

3. The head beam reinforcement is placed into the the former to serve as the top reinforcement.

4 the polystyrene is placed using binding wire and attached to the head beam through the use of binding wire and a short 12mm bar.

5.The head beam and polystyrene is then cast together to form a solid concrete.

6.thw Formwork is the removed and the joint of the fascia is then dressed with the polystyrene cement

In line with our renovation objectives, every aspect of the house was looked into for repair, removal or replacement keeping in mind our cardinal objectives of Structural integrity, modernization and aesthetics. The plumbing aspect of the house was not spared. Below are Pictures of the designed and newly installed plumbing system for house.
