Matt5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. You are the best and God fearing president Nigeria ever had. You didn't allowed your personal interest to supersede that of your GREAT NATION. Kudos! you will be remembered for this for life. More better positions ahead for you. God Bless you.

Since losing to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari at the April 2015 presidential election, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been releasing tit-bits about the circumstances surrounding the loss.

In yet another revelation, Jonathan disclosed how he was advised by a sitting African leader not to accept the result of the election, a move that could have plunged Nigeria into chaos.

In an interview with The Sun, he said: “Let me tell you a story that will shock you. When the results of the elections were declared and I got almost 13 million votes, while the incumbent president won with over 15 million votes, I recall one African leader telling me that if I decided to leave office, it would only be because I must already be tired of remaining in office. The implication of that statement was that many other leaders in my position would have stayed put, but that is just not me. My place in governance was to do my best and quit and not to sit tight and destroy everything I had built. I believe that sometimes, one will have to make that kind of sacrifice in the interest of his people and nation that God had graciously allowed you to lead.”

It is not a normal thing in Africa, most african leaders don't concede defeat and relinquish power when it comes to electing a new president.
. What I meant was it is "normal" for African heads of state to hold on to power at all cost.

Whether good or bad, if he had decided to stay put there is nothing you can do about it. Maybe by now u'll be in hiding. Thank God he leaves, Atleast he has broken d trend among african leaders.

No African leader told that joker anything.

He should just shut up already.
With lazy and tribalistic eediots like you, Nigeria will never get anywhere. All what you guys a.boki want is power, and if you're denied, you threaten, fight, bomb... The funny thing is, even all the power in the world is given to you, you won't be better than us.

BTW, since dullardeeno took over power, has your life got better? A.boki and poverty, you can't separate the two. Gej is a great man. Don't disrespect a man of peace.

Meanwhile, Nigeria is a fake country. It's a matter of time before its various components go their separate ways.

Why would he decide to stay after losing an election? He would have ended up like either Gaddafi, Sadam or Gbagbo, no doubt about that.

What does GEJ want us to make out of this statement. If presidents before him refused to leave, will he get there himself. He manipulated the Governors forum's election. This case was beyond him, and now acting like a superhero. In a little time to come, we will beat our minds to remember he ever ruled this country.

This clown wants to stay after being voted out? Why conduct the election in the first instance or did he not postpone the elections thinking he can buy his way back?

And some people celebrate this idiocy. I tire for this vocal minority.

He knows how to lie a lot. Tomorrow, you might hear him give another account like: all the African leaders I called while the results were being collated advised me arrest BUHARI and force Jega to declare the election inconclusive at gunpoint, but I refused because that's not my way.
lolzzzzz u nail it

If Nigerians cannot solve their problem then leave it.
