Well, you are arguing like a dimwi.t. Being an illiterate does not make you daf.t

If you are familiar with the law, you will choose a better line of argument
playboy19:

Dude, you are arguing like an illiterate. I'm sure you are thinking the court allowed Muslim students to wear hijab because you think there's a new law crafted out to allow them because they (the Muslims) went to court, hence you are asking the Christians to go do the same. If you were educated, you'd know that the same law that permit Muslims to wear hijab to school also allow Christians and traditionalists to wear whatever they deem fit to school. So if anyone, e.g aregbesola doesn't like this, he is the one to go to court seek an injunction to stop them. But as far as the law permit freedom of religion or religious expression, then nothing can stop the other students from wearing their own religious attires.

I believe we read something like this happening at the NYSC camp last year but was quickly resolved.

You are an Ag***** then undecided. An Agb**** that would rather tell half-truths because he wants to win an argument grin......Apologies, I find it hard to respect bileful old people undecided

Now can we retell the story wink
Let's start with how students were forced (be it pagans or Muslims) to worship Jesus in those days smiley or how they were even given Christian names OR how they must not be seen practicing their religion after school? Guess what, that started changing when Muslims began to know their rights. It is that awareness that brought us here

Yeah, we heard the stories too.

Thanks for the full story on this issuesmiley
ziccoit:

That wasn't the true position of the matter. CAN brought the problem by asking pupils to start dressing in Church robes to school. Unfortunately the directive was followed by the same Anglican high school where the miscreants in the name of pupils were spotted few days ago.

Community, religion leaders and government attempts at resolving the issue yielded no result. This was at the hight of Aregbesola's struggle for 2nd term. It then occurred to him the CAN was being political as usual. In order to avert political error, he banned Hijabs. This move pushed Muslim to enter into litigation with the government and the result is here for all.

The questions are why CAN is now using the same solution it deployed 3yrs ago that didn't work now? And, why CAN is using the same school? It's a fool that does same thing the same way and expects different result. CAN should just approach the court. Nobody is going to dance to its call for religion war unless if the war would be among itself.

In addition, Islamic or Christians schools are nothing but old sentiments people refuse to let go. All schools are public owned being managed and funded by government money.

Please stop arguing. Your argument is lame at best. Not every damn thing would be included in the constitution undecided

When someone mentions freedom of expression, you don't clapback with that lame line. Your comeback should be based on how banning of hijab does/does not limit freedom of expression and why it is necessary (or not) to ban it. Okay? undecided
So if every "damn" thing is not included in the constitution then how are we to by guided by law? I'm sorry i can't bring myself so low in arguing with you. You're points are unnecessary, Now run along...

1) Hijab is a private thing. i don't see how it affects you or a non-hijabite undecided
2) Well. some claimed that it was his ban on hijab that started this.
3) They don't teach religion the way they do in other countries yet hijab is allowed. What exactly is your problem?

Your problem is that you are confused.
1) No one is against hijab. Get this right now.
2) if hijab is private, so is garment of everyone else with diverse religious affiliation.
3) if there is a school uniform, why is one religious additional attire preferred over others.
4) in that case, everyone should be allowed to wear their various garments according to their beliefs or outrightly separate religion from secular education.
5) i hope I have exactly treated your problems.

And court had already ruled they are free to wear it while not wait for d appeal court to decide d matter instead of useless and unnecessary wailing.

And where did you see Christians fighting Muslims for obeying the Quran? Have u seen Christians fighting Muslim students for wearing hijab? No. They are only saying, since there's a law that permit 'us' all to have freedom or expression, then let us express our own freedom too. Would you say thats wrong by any standard? No. So if there's anyone like aregbesola threatening sanctions for expressing ur right, what do you call that? Isn't that deprivation of constitutional right? So that's the fuse about? What are you on about?

I remember my secondary school days in the north early 90's. the mode for dressing for Christians in my school was a beret, skirt and blouse. for Muslims it was kaftan and scarf. it wasn't compulsory though as Christians could wear Muslims dress code or vice-versa. Till now, that's the dress code. Imagine that in a federal school.

Why then should students wear hijabs in Osun state for crying out loud?
This wouldn't have been an issue but for mutual suspicion and perception of subtle moves by fanatical leadership of the state to promote one religion over another. Growing up in Yorubaland was fun and interesting. Our parents spared us all these unnecessary bickering but bingo! Internet came and hate speeches everywhere, pettiness and unwarranted rivalry set in and people became paranoid.

Something of this nature always baffles my mind. Babatope should not politize this issue. The muslim fought for their right legally and won in court. Why is it that anything muslim needs in this country, Christians will always want to make case on it? I attended a christian school( catholic) for both my primary and secondary, we pray in Christians way and I know much of christian way of life than islam when I was growing up without any problem. Meanwhile, this skul is a public skul. Xstian put on crosses in almost all the skul and wear beret cap. We pray and close our eyes without any question from our parents who sent us to public schools. Also, the Islamic clerics have never challenge while this must be done in public schools but when it come to christian side they must always complain. I think the best thing to do by govt is to handover back the schools to the owner if they can't control the activities of the schools again. Let the missionaries that are ready to fight for their children continue the affairs of the schools. Or if possible govt should change the name from christian name and muslim to a well acceptable to guarantee that, the schools is know more own by the missionaries.

1) Your problem is that you fail to understand that using the hijab does not affect the uniform in a anyway
2) I have never seen my Anglican neighbor wearing his garment 24/7 or anytime he/she is going out
3) My family has roots in paganism. So I can tell you that you how I am yet to meet a pagan that does everything with his/her 'uniform'. Whatever that means undecided
4) Sikhs are allowed to use their turbans while Muslim ladies are allowed to use hijabs. Uhmmmm.....I am yet to see how it affects the uniform in the UK.
5) Banning hijabs restricts hijabites from practicing their religion. If you knew the significance of hijab for those that believe in it, you will realise how dvmb you sound. Your uniform does not restrict an Ifa worshiper or a Christian.
6) I don';t se how its use is harmful to anyone. Well, it would be to a mischief maker tongue
