chupcake:I'm actually looking forward to doing my nursing top up in sunderland or Anglia someday , so I've not seen people that have passed through such program. Their results, is it tenable everywhere or there would be a case of looking down on one's result since its a year program?.. the pros and the cons?.. Thank you. |

faheez:It is only when being asked for transcript that we make it look like untenable; apart that, it sounds good for sunderland, though. |

spacyzuma:Errrrm I have used flights that are cheaper than train from here to London Easyjet is cool, Ryanair is cool but they cancel quite a lot. |

Nchabuomo:There is one at the back of Queen's station off cathedral road.or a street before buchanan street (parallel to it). Its very close to Strathclyde n Caledonia universities. I can't remember the street. |

guiddoti:is that enough to cause a problem while trying to forge ahead maybe with msc? |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by guiddoti: 12:01am On Oct 17, 2017 |
faheez:The issue is, you would need have certain cumulative credit (ECTS) for you to move up to masters, in case you want further in another school. Lets assume that you did 6 modules for the top-up and you want to present it to another school for masters program. This may cause a little setback except you have presented both transcripts and the school is willing to accept you. This is not applicable to the school you have had the top-up, since you have upgraded your status from there. |

guiddoti: Okay bro. In my case, i was told explicitly that if it is not IELTS for UKVI, you cannot use it to apply for Tier 4. |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by chupcake(m): 1:34pm On Oct 17, 2017 |
faheez: I don't think there would be any discrimination on something like that. I mean a masters degree is one year and no one i know looks down on that. i don't know sunderland but i know cambridge and if you choose Anglia, i am sure you will be able to secure part time job quickly because there is a hospital in cambridge with over 3000+ staff and a staff bank that is always recruiting. |

chupcake:Is your school aware that the IELTS is not UK examined? Its what your school puts on the cas that Ukvi will examine. |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by DonOms(m): 10:17pm On Oct 17, 2017 |
chupcake: Okay. I understand you (though I'm surprised UKVI will do that since they're only supposed to verify the document and not do "another assessment". So best thing might be for the school to say on the CAS that they have examined the English proficiency of the student without listing the IDP IELTS document on the CAS. |

Nchabuomo: I was speaking generally; you should realise that. I'm sure there are some train rides that have also been cheaper than coach. |

Nchabuomo: Comforter In The City - 50 Dundas St, Glasgow G1 2AQ. This is the popular one. I've been there many times. The Experience Kitchen - 42 London Rd, Glasgow G1 5NB. This is less popular. There's an African restaurant (I've forgotten the name) along Union Street in the city centre, but I rarely go there because it's below ground level. 2 Likes 1 Share |

guiddoti: I am not aware of any course like that but if they have it, he might as well do it. |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by chupcake(m): 8:47pm On Oct 25, 2017 |
DonOms:Exactly. the school might in most cases accept it but they cannot list it on the cas. they will just say that they have assessed your english and it is good for them. if they list it on the cas, UKVI will reject the visa application solely on that. Not nice i know but thats what they do. |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by guiddoti: 3:43am On Oct 26, 2017 |
chupcake:Is not really a course, it's an upgrade of first degree, predominantly for 3rd or 2:2 lower class or for HND. |

fatima04:You were not specific or clear with regards to jobs, plenty part-time jobs are available. If you are a student each school has career fairs which you could also check out.... I have no idea about Childcare, but I know NHS Scotland is Great! so health care is superb. Rent is fair, and as you move away from the city center/University area it becomes cheaper, typically a decent 2 bedroom in Scotland (West) could range from 400-900 pounds depending on how deep your pocket runs and area.
