Education / Re: Mathematicians And Thinkers Can You Solve This by Tinkybabe(f): 6:31am On Jun 08, 2017
Kylekent59:
First and foremost you observe and note all the equations.

Observations: three 6 edges stars, two 5 edges stars, two 4 fan blades, one three fanblades, two clocks that reads 3'O'clock and one clock that reads 2'0'clock

Now we are good to solve and calculate.
From the first equation
6 edges star + 6 edges star+ 6 edges star = 18
6+6+6=18
18=18 (meaning each edges represents 1)

From equation 2

4 fan blades+4 fan blades+ 6 edges star(6*1=6) =14
8 blades+6=14
8 blades=14- 6
8 blades=8
(meaning each fan blade represents 1)

For equation 3
3'0'clock + 3'0' clock - 4 fan blades(4*1=4) = 02
3'0' clock + 3'0' clock =2+4( note that -4 crossed over to the other side to become +4)

3'0' clock + 3'0' clock = 6
6'0' clock=6 (meaning each time represents 1 multiply by its reading)

And finally the last equation
Note: 3 fan blades(3*1=3) and a clock reads 2'0' clock (2*1=2) and a double stars with 5 edges (meaning 5+5=10 edges=10*1=10)
So we can now fix it into the equation to get the final answer
3 fan blades(3*1=3) + (2'0' clock=2*1=2) + 5 doubled edges star(5*1=5)

3+(2*10)=3+20=23
The correct answer is 23
Thank you all

You're brilliant and your attention to details is admirable!

Investment / Getting A Mortgage With Little Or Something. by Tinkybabe(f): 5:58am On Jun 08, 2017
I did not know exactly where to post this article but decided to post here after much deliberation.
Now, this is targeted mostly at people in diaspora, the United Kingdom to be precise as that is where my research is limited to.

Have you ever dreamed of owning a home but the mortgage is so ridiculous that there's hardly any
chance of getting on that property ladder? Well, good news! You don't have to worry too much as you might just be able to afford that dream house.

Gone are the days we have to wait till 40 to own a property. My philosophy is " start early and watch it grow". So for the youths and even the older ones , this is the time to seize this opportunity.

I understand that this information is not privy as it is readily accessible but you'll be surprised at how little people know.

Ok! Enough of the pep talk, let's get right into this. cheesy

If you're a first time home buyer, you could actually get a 20% loan from the UK government in a plan known as shared equity mortgage. which reduces your deposit to 5% and mortgage to 75%. The more interesting aspect is that the loan is payable at no interest if it is cleared within 5 years of receipt.

So for example, if the property of interest is valued at £200000. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be able to get a loan of £40000 from the government, your down-payment in this case would be £10000. This leaves you with a mortgage of £150000 to get from the bank /building society. If you are able to repay the government loan within 5 years, you only have to pay the 20 percent of the house value at the point of repayment

That in my opinion is a fantastic deal.

In addition to this, you can have a help to buy ISA which is savings account that allows you to save towards your first home and you get a 25% bonus on top of your savings at maturity. So for example. If you've been able to save £6000, the government will add 25% to this amount which is £1500. Therefore you end up with £7500 which can go towards your deposit.

Although, you can only get a bonus on a maximum of £12000 savings and can save a maximum of £200 in any given month except the first month when you can save up to £1200.

So there you have it guys.

Note, The Shared Equity Scheme has been on since 2013 and ends in 2021.

On a side note, Make your vote count today, go out and vote!

Hahahaha. You may not believe it. I gave you an average value. None is less than 10 pounds and so go as much as 30 pounds per hour. The minimum wage law in UK is £7.50/he once you are over 25 year no matter the job you do. Google it.

To answer your question. No one employs maid for long hour in UK or US. You rather take for few hours per week that you can pay for. In fact only rich people employ the service of maid. Many parents take turn in looking after their kids, put them in schools for long hours, take paternity& maternity leave, take different job shift. If you must have a maid, you pay through your nose 4 it that some parents even resign to take care of their kids.

Now that is why you have divorce law that give's a lot to women because they stay home to take care of kids while you work and save.

Lastly, getting a job as a maid is very difficult. Your character must be checked. People dont just entrust their kids into your hands in the era of abuses. Rich duds employ first class maid with special references. Thesee maid may speak different languages, skilled in music lesson and instrument and have sound etiquette. Does that come cheap to you?

Thanks for the lecture! I live in the UK so I'm privy to the laws of the land.
A child minder is different from a maid. It's child minders that charge 10 pounds and higher not maids and with child minding, you take your kids to them not the other way round.
The reason is that much is because of the certifications and risks that come with childminding.

So I say again, quit the gross exaggeration.

There is no better life in London than Nigeria. The weather stabs you in your chest, the food is awkward and no playmate to hobnob with. The only joy derived is the good infrastructure and opportunity to earn more money. Without money, to hell with infrastructure.

It is not out of kindness the doctor and wife brought the lady to UK. She is the easiest target to be used. She was house help to their parents with little or no paid and they felt they could continue the trend in London. An hourly pay for maids is 20 pounds. That is 200 pounds for 10 hour day and 1400 pounds a week. This couple intends to use and enfeeble the poor maid until she is not useful to herself and the society. So don't defend their wickedness

Really? Yet everyone is not working as maids?

Mr man, get your facts right before making this sort of gross exaggeration.

Inasmuch as I understand the point you're making, you don't have to exaggerate to that extent.

It takes 75 men 10 hours to complete X/4 work in 90days

750 hrs x 90 = X/4
X =270,000 arbitrary unit

We have only (150- 90)days left to complete the work at 15 hours per person. If total no of people required to complete the remaining job is R
Then

15R x 60 =3/4 X
Note X =270,00

R = 225

Men to be added to previous is 225- 75 = 150 men

Briareos:
This is a very moot and pathetic argument to explain the greed of (most) Nigerian ladies.

If all they seek is "happiness", and money is what can bring them such happiness - why cant they work hard for their own money? Why should they risk their happiness on another human being - when they can easily get their own money and be нαρρү to Timbuktu as they wishes.

Is there a law against ladies earning their upkeep?

And further more, are the few independent ladies we have not нαρρү?

Now! I completely agree with this especially the bolded. (with the exception of the gross generalization- "many" may be a better word )

This applies to both gender(beyond money) . People have different source (s) of happiness and the moment your happiness is dependent on another person, you lose your identity, you lose yourself and you become a prisoner to the host.

Your need for a partner is to compliment (that means you have built yourself to a reasonable extent such that you are good in every standard and their presence is just the icing on the cake, you being the cake )

Be the boss of your happiness. One of the greatest fulfillments in life is your ability to create your own happiness.

Romance / Re: Approaching A Lady. by Tinkybabe(f): 4:01am On May 16, 2015
Confidence!
A guy that exudes confidence can leave with his head held up high.
Women admire confident guys!
When you know your worth and exhibit it, people will respect you!
I certainly don't mean being cocky or boastful.

Often times though, there is usually something that precipitates confidence (money, charm, fame etc). but all of these are not necessary.

Self esteem is a mind thing.

Mathematics is one abstract discipline. I could just prove 1 + 1 != 2 by following the so called mathematical principles.

@ the guy arguing that anything divided by zero is infinite so 0/0 should be infinite due to the zero @ the denominator, do you realize the numerator is also 0? Nd going by what you claim, we could also draw a straight conclusion by saying the answer is zero. We now have two conflicting results... Zero, infinite. The result ''1'' is realistic because zero and infinite are two opposing forces of mathematical principle which crosses out to one.

You are absolutely correct!

I don't know how the mathematicians came up with the whole 0/0 = infinitity
Cuz simple logic states that any number divided by itself is 1.
So why is zero an exception?

In any case, we have indeed proven that 0/0 is 1.

What he did was: (100-100)=10^2 - 10^2 which is wrong. -100 does not have a square root but u can have square of -100 which is equal to +10000. ONLY POSITIVE NUMBERS HAVE SQUARE ROOTS BUT ALL NUMBERS HAVE SQUARES. He failed it when he factorized -100 as 10^2: It is wrong.

Your claim is wrong!

Expand a2- b2

Lets use normal numbers

16-9 =42 - 32
(4-3)(4+3) = (1)(7) = 7

and indeed
16 - 9 =7

I don't know where you came about your - 100 theory.

Creative but wrong.

I could arrive @ 1 by doing the following...
(10+10)(10-10) / (10+10)(10-10)
=1
True!

10(1+1)/10(1+1)

=2/2 = 1

I guess, we can prove and disprove mathematics theories as much as we want which shows that maths is not finite.

I admire the guy 's reasoning ability but he flawed when he didn't apply the same mode of expansion to the numerator and the denominator.
1 is a better answer

The brain is the instructor, can you be an instructor without someone to instruct?

If there's nothing to co-ordinate, where does the need to or word co-ordinate come from? Why is it in existence?

On a second thought, I don't think there's an heirachy with these two organs. You are right about the brain being pretty much useless without the heart to provide it with blood, likewise, the heart is just as useless without the instruction of the brain.

They work hand in hand so there's really no genuine basis for comparison .
Each is just as important as the other.
This is analogous to the chicken and egg situation.

Without the heart there won't be life for the others to function, so why are we having this debate?

It's the brain, the brain co-ordinates and controls the activities of the body through the hypothalamus. It's the brain that control the beating of the heart.
The brain is the power house of the body.

Having said that , both are extremely vital organs, a defect in either could be deadly.

Grateful we were more than a tad close
Glad it was you I chose
For with us,everything just flows
Cupid must have been fierce with his bow and arrows
cuz the hit left us an unending dose
Love like water gushing out of a hose
To friends it's undeniable and very clear to foes
Our love is almost perfect,it feels like we are pros
Even in disagreements you never fail to bring me a rose
Little wonder our bond still grows
And I still feel a tingle when you kiss my nose
I have to stop cuz this is already looking like a prose
But this isn't our best,God knows
There's a coming a day I'll be with you clad in white dress and gold stilettos
Saying "I do" before hundreds of souls

Thank God for your life Op.

In addition to all that's been said, people should try to keep alcohol to the barest minimum or avoid taking it altogether, also have a healthy diet and keep fit.
If you have a history of diabetes, hypertension and Kidney disease in your family, you're at a greater risk of having it so ensure you visit your doctor regularly for check- ups. Don't take any symptom with levity, visit your health practitioner with immediate alacrity.

Then, knowing Nigerians and their penchant for self medicating coupled with the way antibiotics and NSAIDS are churned out. Please and please, always check with your doctor /pharmacist before popping some pills particularly if you've had a history of kidney disease. Some medicines can worsen it.

In conclusion, for all those suffering from chronic kidney disease. Follow your drug regimen religiously and go for constant check up.

Health is wealth!

Your answer is as good as mine, the irunmole otherwise called genius
Are they born or made?
I want to think born cuz they are never laid
To them a competition is a compensation
For they are bound to show their worth-success!

In maths or science ,they retain the licence- world's best !
Never fail nor falter-- even if they are from the gutter
Heck, that does not deter their steadfastness and triumph
