Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Any Difference Between CV And Resume? by ty4eva(f): 6:49pm On Jun 20, 2009
Thanks for the tutorial on the difference between a Cv and resume.
Basically, i think what nairalanders need is a comprehensive way on how to prepare a good C.v that would earn them a good job and not really a sermon on the difference between the two. With no offence intended, a comtempoary C.V or Resume as the case maybe (they are regarded as the same in this aprt of the world)now carries the idividual's passport (preferably coloured), and also, it's advisable to include awards received, positions held in previous palce of work or school as that has been as an an addded advantage to getting the job. Furthermore, Check out the Resume wizard samples in the latest Microsoft word document to serve as a guideline in preparing your own Curriculum Vitae. Most Pertinently, treat the interviews with utmost imporatnce; dress to suit the occasion and be ready to be tested academically, and otherwise!
Romance / Re: Is Loving Selfish Or Selfless? by ty4eva(f): 4:38am On Apr 09, 2009
Love,
It is selfless, when you pledge love to someone, it means being dead to yourself and be alive to the other person. Love is unconditional, it is not proud, it does not envy. When love becomes slefish then it is no longer love, Show love to someone today, it does not necessarliy have to be someone of the opposite sex.

Culture / Re: What Do You Hate About Your Culture? by ty4eva(f): 4:32am On Apr 09, 2009
The yoruba culture values RESPECT the most, but what i hate is that they have so allowed it to get into their heads that they want to take advantage of the situation and take people for granted. I was seriously embarrased by an elderly woman who almost beat me up for no just cause just because she felt she deserved so much respect that what i gave her was not enough!

I hate the overzealous approach of the yoruba culture to respect!

Family / Re: My Husband And I Tested Hiv Positive Please Help by ty4eva(f): 3:59am On Apr 09, 2009
Maa'm
This is the time you really need to be strong. You need all the inner strength in you not to break down, i'd advise you do a second test again to confirm your status because we have seen instances where the results are not accurate. If eventually it's true, then you have to take heart, be strong, move closer to God, read more of christian literatures and yes! take those anti-retroviral drugs because you really need them to sustain you and also prevent mother- to -child -transmission.Did you go through the proper counselling that preceeds the test? If no, then you need a counsellor now, but most importantly, you are you own best counsellor and that is why i stress that you need all the inner strenght that you can muster. It's not the end of life! you still have a beautiful life ahead of you. Do you read saturday punch newspapers? If yes, do u remember the female columnist who is HIV positive, she travells round the world today and is living a happy life even in her state. I encourage you and your hubby to be strong at this period. I wish you the best.
With love!
Romance / Re: I Am Married, My Boss Is Married But We Are Still Dating! by ty4eva(f): 3:55pm On Jun 17, 2008
There are no two-ways about it that they are commiting sacrilege and they must indeed go for a delivedrance. If the man is lustful, what about her who is just abt 6months into a marriage. She must really be delivered. They are committing an abominable act and they must stop.
Talk to her strongly! she should deliver herself, using her conscience, she needs to pastor to do that for her.

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Makes Me Cry by ty4eva(f): 4:45pm On May 21, 2008
Sweetheart,
one thing i know for sure is that men don't like feeling being tied down or committed, hence they don't like talking about marriage especially when they seem not to be ready for it.

Nevertheless, 4 years is a long time enough for you 2 to understand each other. I believe so much in dialogue so i'd advice you sit him down and let him know what and how you feel. He should tell you in plain terms where you two are headed. At least there should be a level of commitment so that you won't be left hanging.

Make out a date, make the setiing romantic and discuss the issue with him, i'm sure he will say something reasonable.
i wish you the best

Education / Imposition Of Dress Code In Nigerian Universities by ty4eva(f): 2:46am On Feb 17, 2007
This particular issue is so painful. University Education has now become a do or die affair and the issue of strict adherence to dress code is not even helping matters. The doctrine, in my school is being enforced to the letters up to the point of the types of ear-rings to be worn. There is no longer freedom of expression and those of us who are fashionable and yet decent ar being forced to dress like S.U's. It's really annoying and pissing especially in my school, University of ilorin and particularly in my faculty, Faculty of Law.

My effervescent and intelligent nairalanders, please can't one dress nicely again?. Despite the fact that about 75% of the students areb decent, they still want us to dress like moslems and S.U's. Please what can one to do to stop this dress code madness. I am even sometimes harrased in the library, I believe my picture on nairaland is decent enough. Can u believe that i was actually embarrassed the day i wore that same attire? i was told it is too tight.
Abeg, wetin person go do 4 our Nigerian Universities to staisfy them? Does one have to dress like sister MarY or Alhaja Sukura?

Don't mind those people saying u need to have money to win a girl's heart. There are still some good girls out there who r not in 4 ur money. So just be urself, be real and u sure will find a nice, wonderful girl to call ur own.

Poems For Review / Reflection.......love! by ty4eva(f): 3:06pm On Jan 25, 2006
Do you really love someone?
Love is more than sexual desire or fulfilment
It's more than a response to a
beautiful woman or handsome man
Love is more than words for it's action!
Love is a commitmnet and obedience
Love gives, love shares, love cares
love is unconditional
Love can survive all troubles
love frees and grows andfreleaes from fear
love accepts the other as he is
But alas! some don't love themselves
not to talk of loving somone else
think about this and let .............
love be your greatest pursuit!

Celebrities / Re: Omotola Jolade vs Stella Damasus-Aboderin by ty4eva(f): 2:37pm On Jan 25, 2006
Well! well!! well!!
individuals have exceptionally good qualities that is usually unique and peculiar 2 them alone. So when talking abt this 2 personalities r we talking about shape, beauty, acting prowess sor general behaviour?. If tha is the case, then we really can't say one is the best but just choose whom u r more attracted to.

As for me, i got the hots for Stella Damascus cuz i think she really is down 2 earth and very natural and has such a wonderul carriage. Omo T is good too, very sexy indeed.but Stella is more of my movie role model
thanx
ova and out!

TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria Coming up March 2006 by ty4eva(f): 1:56pm On Jan 25, 2006
Goodguy,
we know it is not by force to watch it but this is a forum for people to correct some anomalies in Nigeria and that is what we are doing. Is it right to pump as much as USD$100,000 into a project that ill be filled with so much shams and phonies pretending to be what they r not?

i don't buy the idea of the Big brother Nigeria craze and i think other sensible people should not either.

We need growth and development, we need emploment that is what we are clamouring and cying for and not giving out huge amount of moeny for no reason and little efforts

i dont like the idea of it all!!!!!!!!!!!!
