Business / Re: How Much Is Petrol Selling For In Your Area? by wills(m): 4:47pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
See numerous complaint about this station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, how they sell products at double or almost double the approved price of N86 and nothing has been done to the station by DPR or any other agencies of government regulating the sale of petrolume products . While this same Sobaz Stations cross most parts Port Harcourt on almost daily basis always have petroleum products to sell at between N140 to N170. The NNPC stations in same vicinity do not sell petrol, or do so maybe once in two to three weeks, case in point (compare Sobaz station in Rumuigbo and NNPC stations in same Rumuigbo on Ikwerre Road) folks in PHC who live or ply these routes can verify this? Sobaz is believed to be owned by the chairman of IPMAN independent petrolume marketers (Lawson Obasi) - though I make no accusations, but it's not far from the truth if I conclude that. This whole fuel scarcity thing is just another scam, and money spinner for some folks inside and outside of this so called Government of Change. Am not a PDP apologist, am just making a statement of fact from today's reality. It's one thing for the fuel not to be avaliable and we all queue to buy at N86 no matter the station. It's a whole different ball game when only those selling far above the approved price get fuel almost daily to sell, and yet NNPC run stations and major marketer's like Total, Mobile, Oanda etc don't sell or sell once in a very long time. This is the case in Port Harcourt the River State capital from my observations. -Buhari must really be wondering why he fought so hard to become President of a deeply troubled country. I pray God gives him the wisdom to do his best and may that best be good enough for Nigeria.

The Bann of GEJ government is that "every fool with this government do what they like most times without thinking" this also is now plaguing his presidential campaigning people say rubbish, post rubbish and advertise rubbish all in the name of I support GEJ and I am discrediting the oppositions Candidate GMB, can't they see this negative attacks on Buhari is making him even more popular.... GEJ needs serious 5days of damage control and focused people centered campaigning to get back the mind of some of his voters, those group who believe he has not done his best but we might still be willing to re vote him. |

I think this Fani Kayode person is the "scum of the earth" he my speak with that fancy English accent but he is just a sorry excuse for a human. Sometimes when I think in this manner "let me vote Goodluck, because of the fact that I for one believe PDP and APC ideologically are the same, consequently if we vote GEJ he has 4yrs only if re-elected, as compared to Buhari who will be going for 8yrs if he wins so maybe let's tolerate GEJ another 4yrs". And then by that time Nigerians can pray we have better options of presidential candidates or a party with the right values and ideology. However when one reason this way and is willing to risk tolerating GEJ another four years by voting him now, same GEJ employs a fool like Fani Kayode to keep reminding you why you should not make the mistake of voting GEJ because he really can't be tolerated if you want to tell yourself the truth. GEJ not only keeps protecting the high profile corrupt individuals who are his allies , his government also breeds unimaginable levels of mediocrity and sycophancy. Plus the self serving folks in his government are beyond greedy they are just plain evil , and it's like the new addition is that GEJ attracts and keeps all the peddlers of falsehood that are firing the embers of lies, deceit and even hate. May God Almighty intervene in Nigeria's case oh because it's really just beyond complicated ... And #negroplease Don't talk Buhari, please ok - as of today, I don't trust what that man will turn into on the other side of Power should he win - if history tells us anything, nigeria's seat of power changes everyone and everything for the worst.... ISpiksDaTroof: I'm not God but I can tell you that your prayer is in futility. You can predict an individual based on his history. GEJ has no incentive to act right in 2015. He has always been corrupt, and that's all he knows. Read my post, am not Pro Goodluck or Pro APC either. I am pro Nigeria and I hold the believe that the Buhari/ Fashola Candidacy fornow PROBABLY! holds one of the best possibility of a restored Nigeria. I only prayed that should GEJ win, he makes a total U-Turn and stop the mediocrity, selfishness and yes corruption that has characterized his government in the last 5yrs 2 Likes |
Politics / A Buhari / Fashola Candidacy 2015 by wills(m): 6:51pm On Sep 19, 2014 |
Buhari / Fashola Candidacy personally I will most likely support this rather than a GEJ re-election: am from the south south and a christian but my pro Nigeria stance won't allow me tolerate the mediocrity and nuisance the current government has to a large extent nurtured. Buhari / Fashola critics will be quick to say " Both men are of the same faith (Islam)- however any thinking man knows its really not enough reason for Christians or people of other faiths to reject their candidacy. Religion has always been a tool to separate the masses, while the elite and politicians plunder the resources together happily regardless of their own religious differences. For example- I have never heard one of the many Muslim Northerners seeking GEJ re-election complain about his Christian faith, truth be told it's not that they are so tolerant - its just that for this set of people they put their financial Interest and personal gains above insisting a Muslim must seek the office of the president. So if they can go this length to protect their own selfish Interest. Then I say putting the Interest of a restored Nigeria for the current and future Nigerians above religious persuasions is a Nobel thing to do. I don't see why Christians won't or shouldn't support a Buhari/ Fashola Candidacy . "The supreme task is to organise and unite people so that their anger becomes a transforming force." Dr Martin Luther King Jr The majority of the people so desperate to re-elect and ensure GEJ gets another 4years are doing so for their own Interest and they have been busy in ernest and working hard day and Night - If the APC must take over government come 2015, then I dare say they must as a matter of urgency tap into the anger and frustration this present government offers and they do so on so many levels- APC must start using this as a transforming force to galvanize all the support they need for 2015. If APC - puts personal gains, desire or seeking to grab power off PDP just for the sake of taking over for themselves and their party then they will fail. PDP is already doing that and do it damm too well,so I will rather vote a PDP government on this basis at least GEJ will keep doing his best even if that has been regarded by most as not good enough. If APC takes its eyes off PDP and stop the finger pointing and genuinely, outright and deliberate market the right candidacy of these two men - as men on a mission to restore Nigeria - maybe they just might strike the right cord with the majority of the voting masses in Nigeria and snatch power for the purpose of true and honest governance: If they fail to do this and do better than they are doing currently then it's no magic GEJ till 2019 will become a reality. Should GEJ be re-elected, my prayer is that he shocks all the greedy men seeking his re-election for their own personal gains and give a pleasant surprise to Nigerians by getting rid off mediocrity from his government and sincerely delivering real transformation 2015 - 2019 Honestly GEJ has nothing to lose- but question is will he do the right things - can he be courageous enough ? Maybe he might, but certainly not with the many deceitful and selfish folks around him now. 14 Likes |

Health / Re: Two Cases Of Ebola Confirmed In Port Harcourt by wills(m): 12:30pm On Aug 29, 2014 |
Nigerians will play politics with everything even the EVD outbreak. Nigeria's minister of Health had the audacity to be smiling on AIT TV this morning being interviewed on the recent developments of ebola in the country and could confidently say one of the primary contacts evaded detection, after this same minister has been saying over and over again on national TV that all primary contacts of Mr Sawyer the Liberian who brought the virus upon Nigerians had been quarantined. Shockingly despite the briefings from the minister and Lagos state health officials, most Nigerian know the story of how it was revealed a few weeks back that one of the primary contacts at the hospital in Lagos, somehow traveled to Enugu and yet those saddle with the responsibility of containing this virus from spreading gave no reasonable explanation how this happened. In the typical Nigerian fashion "we all let that slide" Now all of a sudden again,an Ecowas staff a primary contact of the index case (using the ministers language) could travel with the virus across Nigeria seeking for how to treat himself and made his way to Port Harcourt, and nobody knew until the doctor who treated him died of the virus ? THE BIG QUESTION NIGERIANS MUST ASK? Why Nigeria's public servant never tell Nigerians the simple truth? From the natural liers the politician,to even the Nigerian military, everyone now seems to lie, look you in the face and lie like hell, and dwell in mediocrity using eye service to show to Mr. President that look "I am working" and thus your so called transformation agenda is changing lives of Nigerians... yet the reality is far,far different : It's almost a total risk, to take the word of the Nigerian Government as reliable, you do that at your peril - Its not about GEJ,I am not anti or pro GEJ,so don't get it twisted, but it's about the culture of lies and falsehood that's now deep rooted in the Nigerain system especially in the public sector at Federal,State and Local Council Level. In a serious country somebody would have been relieved of their job just by the recent revelations that an ebola victim was not accounted for and he was able to travel "God knows how he traveled, and seek medical attention on his own terms outside the isolation centers set up , thus risking the lives of millions more Nigerians. Look at it from this angle, had the minister of health or the folks responsible for dealing with the initial ebola breakout in Lagos been truthful that " some primary contacts of mr sawyer are at large, possibly displaying their names and pictures -just maybe hospitals and even hotels would have been more vigilant, agreed this might cause more scare amongst the populace but better safe than sorry. With all the talk of contact tracing, how an Ecowas staff and a primary contact of Mr Sawyer can evade being traced and isolated and had time to travel plus plan his own treatment is just beyond ridiculous : is anybody asking if he did this alone or had accomplices? Did someone responsible for contact tracing willingly allow this man the leverage to go seek help on his own? There's so many questions to ask, and people to fire but the minister come on live TV laughs and smile "saying no need to panic" I read a recent comment by Jason Njoku recounting what he witnessed at the Nigerian boarder, while people using cars to cross the boarder was subjected to the usual endless procedure and ebola checks, traders wander about the boarder in both directions without appropriate screening, as with every thing typical Nigerian using cosmetic applications to solve real problems. I may be critical despite all that the Government is doing, however I am critial because I believe anything worth doing must be done well, otherwise the ebola incidences, just like the boko haram carnage in Nigeria will turn out to be something toyed with and yet with disastrous consequences. This is a wake up call: Do the right thing at the right time. 2 Likes |

Avoid panic, but take precautions, cultivate healthy habits and wash your hands regularly - especially when returning from outdoors - save yourself, ensure your loved ones save themselves also - by doing this you all stay safe -In the interim curtail all unnecessary, visits, outing or gathering : please share this with PHC residents : Having the right information = 100% prevention 1 Like |

This man has given his testimony and as a Christian he acknowledged what all faithful christians will do. The ultimate healer is Christ Jesus- we live our life to give him all the glory. This Dr. didn't fail to heartily thank all the medical professional who helped/ treated him,he only acknowledged that the God of his faith, healed and saved him - what's so wrong in that? I think he owes no one an explanation, If you wish to give the credit to medical science, that's your cup of tea....but too bad it's not you who just defeated the virus ,wait your turn and give all the credit to science, yourself, Zmapp or what ever you may chose. Those who love or trust science so much and wish to give science credit, again I say wait until you are in a desperate situation then call on the name of science. All em ITK..I too know- you can argue all you want on this..... People of the christian faith know God works in ways of mystery and if this doctor was saved yet others have died of this same virus - no one knows why - we live in a world with so much unanswered questions - however for those of us who chose to have faith in God,through his son Christ Jesus- regardless of the questions, the contradictions and the seemly unbelievable and illogical explanations of this our blind faith to an atheist or people of like minds. Indulge us because it's something you can only experience, to genuinely know - there's a level of Trust,Believe, undeniable Faith and sadly its inexplicably to reprobates minds ( dumb or intellectual) ones 3 Likes |

AncientJerk: To answer you : The correlation is simple,Mr. President is tactless in his speech even at such a crucial time of a national health emergency : That's why for example this tread on NL has so far centered on Mr. President use of the term "crazy man" and not as much as the efforts being taken to curtail the spread of Ebola Virus. To your 2nd Question, I ask you this 1st, what precautionary measures is the Govt taking now? Could this not have already been in place way ahead of time when it was very clear the virus was ravaging countries in West Africa. The simple truth is if only the govt had even set up minimal screening centers at international airport to check people entering Nigeria via regional flights especially from West Africa, Mr. Sawyer would have been at least stopped @ the airport - saving the whole situation Nigeria has in its hands now. The Victim Came Into Nigeria- Because Not A Single Ebola Alert or Check Was In Place. Our Govt Failed To Prepare for this despite knowing an Ebola carrier can come into the country. Let Just Thank God Only One Infected Man Came That Day From Liberia- What If they where 10 Infected Carriers on That Flight? The Progression of this viral spread would be 10times what you see today. Don't Excuse the failure of Govt, it's there to protect you- when you excuse Govt, you encourage mediocrity. 3 Likes |

MissMeiya: AncientJerk or IlliterateJerk whatever you call yourself. MissMeiya. Your comments are one of the very few here making any sense, how people excuse the failure of Govt to have taken precautionary measures at all point of entries, is just so shocking. More shocking is how folks would think it's ok for President GJ to call the Victim a madman, an irresponsible and unnecessary comment at this time when all focus should be on preventing the spread of the virus. Seeing how people reason and the comments on this topic and on NL in general, personally I think the falling standards of education, especially tertiary education in Nigeria is really a thing of serious.
