However, as an observer, I feel you copied those responses here and there. They were rather generic and lengthy. Beauty lies in simplicity. Keep it brief and personified. Candidates tend to believe that longer answers make the best sound to the VO. On the contrary, the longer your response, the more you open up yourself for more scathing questions. Don't try to "wowww" the VO. Your job is to go there and run away with your visa approval. Therefore, keep it short and simple. Again, and most importantly, it is good to study interview templates, but you must own your answers and not regurgitate coded scripts. VOs are trained to identify scripted answers and it will be at their discretion to approve or disapprove you upon that discovery. Be conversational and relaxed. Brevity is key. |

Please I wouldn't mind if you can suggest a good school in any of those two states. Young man, you'll need to roll up your sleeves and get to work already. Get busy with research on issues concerning you and come here for guidance and advice. This talk about your uncle said this and that makes you sound like a nonacademic student. No pun intended! |

Mayor555: OK I'm back, pay close attention to this...
Handling your transport business yourself will be very lucrative. But your calculation no follow at all...
Put into consideration the followings:
Fuel per to-fro trip
Servicing of engine every week or two
Numbers of week, that 4 brand new tyres can carry you(good tyres can carry up-to 6months)
Brake Pads every two weeks(can be relative)
Union fee
Wears and tears each week(reserve like 20k). You might be lucky to go weeks without repairs, if you have a good bus
And: like you said, understand the "intestines" of the business in your area before handing any bus to anyone, else you'll be shooting yourself some RPG missiles.
Let me add this, why not buy 2004-2007 Toyota sienna clean title tokunbo or relatively clean and shuttle Port Harcourt to Lagos. Thank me later.. Now this is what I call: Balanced view! Bar man, give him one Fanta Tonic on my bills... |

Aderewah: Lol. I used to do naive maths like this. First, fuel will take up to 30% per trip. Agbero will claim 10% or more depending on where you are. Vehicle will spoil. Repairs can claim one week earnings. Vehicle cannot be always fUll. Or else, everyone go be driver. The worst thing that can happen us when your business break down inside bush. Terrible experience. I ommited risk of accidents All I read is Discouragements...Shuo? You no get chill Ooo. I expected you to balance out your contribution by also mirroring into the positive side of the business. Would it be a hasty generalisation to conclude that you're a naysayer? |

Ysakaws1: My brother is about to apply for his USA study visa. He will be sponsored by our father but there is something confusing us now. My Dad has already printed out his company’s SOA (Dad is the CEO). However, a particular agent told us that apart from the company’s SOA, my bro MUST also submit my Dad’s personal SOA.
Please who knows if this is true Company SOA is acceptable and can be submitted independent of his personal statement, only if there's "abundant" funds there. Personal SOA is most preferable and highly advised only if the account has "sufficient" funds. Feel free to go with the two, but again, there's no rule that says YOU MUST go with the two. |

Icongold2006: And I also want to know... why most students are being rejected at the embassy.. is it that their document is incomplete or what... Abi na head? Most students are 'rejected' because they are largely unprepared. In a roundabout way, visa applications are denied once an iota of doubt is suspected. Ensure your application meets requirement and prepare to have a genuine conversation with the officer. Bet me, success beckons. |

I tell you, success lurks around. You have great profile. I am only wondering if you have the resources to apply to all these schools. However, I'll advice you work vigorously behind the scene by engaging your prospective professors in a robust academic chat. Once discussion is fortuitous, you need to apply. This is one way of maximising your scarce resources, so you don't end up 'throwing away' cash. You've made quite a nice pick. You'll need to strike a balance between your 'very ambitious' and your 'moderate' so you keep your admission chances within the ambit of safety. |

Your GPA is good enough for admission into some US schools. As for your second question, nobody will do that research for you. The good thing is you can get suitable schools when you search on google and then you can show us what you've got so we advice you. What are my possible chances Square peg in round hole. Kindly, ask this question on the appropriate section. This section is for student-related queries. |

zarconflux: I am glad to be in this forum! Good morning great people, sorry my questions are always behind but that's for the meantime. Quickly,I have my Bsc Second class lower division (2.2) from plant science and biotechnology,I am aiming at pharmaceutical biotechnology, biomedical engineering or medical mycology. Is this achievable with my GPA? If No, which course is your advice? Secondly, must I take toefl and gre or only toefl? Lastly, must I get my transcripts and toefl English test score ready before applying? What's your advice people? US does not look at your class of degree (that's British system practiced in Nigeria). You will need to convert your GPA to a US scale in order to apply. The standard admission benchmark is usually 3.0 but a few other schools also accept GPA below that standard mark. The only reason you need to worry about your GPA is when you are seeking for funding, otherwise, you're almost always eligible for US admission except in extreme cases where you have very poor GPA. Regarding TOEFL, Nigerians are not usually required to take the TOEFL since we are an anglophone country. As for your transcript, it is a crucial part of your admission process, you can't avoid it. You should now research to know if your school accepts official or unofficial or evaluated copy. |

Damiloju123: Hi guys, I was recently refused visa.
I would like to ask for recommended answers to what this course (computer science) will do for you. As the VO felt my response wasn’t convincing enough. You want us to tell you why you chose a course? This is very ludicrous. Can you possibly come here to ask us why you chose a wife from a multitude of ladies out there? This is tantamount to what you have just asked us. If you can't provide that basic answer, you better change your program to one where you have a ready answer to the question. On the flip side, if you had come up with your own answer, we would have assisted you to fine tune it. That's basically the purpose of this thread- guidance and information, NOT spoonfeeding. |

If yes, whats the probability that the status can be changed so easily ? This information is very misleading. Anybody telling you that switching status is a stroll in the park (if it's even possible) is deceiving you. The only way you stand a chance of changing status is declaring your plans to your B1/B2 interview officer. Look before you leap. |

FriendlyTop: Morning guys.. Have been asking a lot of questions recently.. Pls help with this one too.. Am confused about the next step of sending another bank statement to my school so that they can forward a new i20. Is it possible to change sponsor? Since it was what got me denied in my first interview, I couldn't provide a letter of support from dad's company. I want to use Nigeria orientation here, I want to go ahead to present Uncle's SOA (cos he's in d UK, he has a legal job and I have a letter of support from him) even though it's still dad that will go ahead to pay higher percentage of the tuition. How can someone defend this pls. Changing sponsor from dad to uncle. Some DS-160 information already submitted are almost untouchable over a short period of time. Changing your sponsor rather too quickly would draw attention, and it is almost certain you'd be queried about this change. If the answer you'll take to the interview doesn't sound convincing to you, then it won't convince the Consul Officer. |

sheke01: Second, "What's your schedule for this program"? In my opinion, This was where you gave the fatal blow to your "slim" chances. People who go there to do "cram and pour" are usually unsettled once the grammar is adjusted. Program Schedule was simply a synonym for Study Plan. I will advice anybody going there to avoid memorising question stereotypes. On the contrary, master the essence of each and every visa question with the aim of realising what it is testing out. By so doing, you won't be caught off guard even when the questions are reordered or rephrased. |
