In addition to the general Nairaland Forum Rules & Regulations, it is necessary to restate and update the guidelines specific to this section. For Jobseekers: 1. Scammers abound on the Internet so research every job vacancy posted here before applying - google is your friend. DO NOT send your personal info, email address or CV if you are not sure of where you are sending it to. 2. Be suspicious if a job advert provides little information e.g no physical address & no job description, but provides personal contact details e.g free email address (i.e yahoo, hotmail, gmail etc), GSM number - no serious company accepts applications via SMS or free email addresses. 3. When you are supplied a company email address e.g example@nairaland.com, copy and paste the part after the @ sign {nairaland.com} into your browser and visit the website for verification. 4. If an opportunity reads too good to be true, it is! 5. If any recruiter requests payment for anything WHATSOEVER, do not pay a kobo. Stay away and report them. 6. Question vacancy posters for more details if you need to know more, it’s a forum. 7. Consult the 2013 Job Library for a compilation of vacancies that have been verified by the moderators. 8. The (Report) button is on every post to report any offending post directly to the moderators. Use it, don’t abuse it! 9. This is 2013, don’t be learner or another man’s mugu – shine your eyes! For Recruiters: 1. Any advertising employer/agent/user is expected to provide details of the nature of the employing business, its location, a contact name and phone number, physical address and a website/email address. Anything less is regarded deceptive and suspicious. 2. Soliciting applications through text messaging (SMS) is prohibited in this section, we believe serious employers require more than a text message from candidates. 3. Free email addresses e.g yahoo.com, hotmail.com raise suspicion, avoid using them as such contacts may be hidden or posts removed. If you must, tell us why. 4. Be prepared to answer questions about your vacancies from jobseekers and the moderators. If it's a secret you shouldn't be advertising on a public forum. 5. Vacancies posted against the rules shall be removed. In circumstances where the above rules cannot be adhered to, contact the moderators before posting. In General: ‘Money making’ schemes (e.g MLM, HYIP, Forex trading and other online businesses, referral programs etc) and propositions shall be promptly removed and posters banned - this is a Jobs/Vacancies board. Nairaland does not endorse the content of 3rd party websites linked from here and is not responsible for their content or actions. We reserve the right to modify, move or remove any posts which: • are intended to deceive • appear as impersonation • contain offensive language • are unlawful or encourage breaking the law • are regarded inappropriate by the moderators • contain links to other websites which violate our rules • are considered to be spam i.e the same content posted multiple times To register your comments and suggestions do so on the comments and suggestions thread. Remember the (Report) button is on every post to complain directly to moderators about any post. Please refer to the Nairaland Forum Rules & Regulations and be guided. Even besides religious belief, it's not worth is cos you'll still get found out. It's unfortunate that some Nigerian employers openly discriminate on the basis of age but it still doesn't justify lying to get a job because there are still many other employers who don't. |
Planning for 2015 is in full swing countryfirst: For how long should we continue to tolerate this? Not a minute longer |
It's a private jet company wanting to cash in on the bleeding Naija market after seeing the huge potential. Doubt this means anything for commercial aviation in Nigeria, check out their website www.vistajet.com However any commercial airline with a hub in Nigeria would have a hard time running corruption free, remember Virgin Airways? |
Funny comments like this surprise me! Is training not part of the job? Is Dangote the only company that trains? All responsible organization trains their personnels. The fact that you are being fed and trained should not be a basis for depriving you of your entitlements. Paying peanuts for training is absolute exploitative capitalism. I am shocked that many Nairalanders are accusing the new employees of not reading the terms of agreement. I'm sure many of them are oblivious of the situation in the labour market. The fact that the unemployment is high in Nigeria should not give Alhaji Dangote the opportunity to be exploitative. That's sheer insensitivity.
wasiudvd: Poeverty has finish this country! So some pple can actually say it is justifiable for a graduate to be paid 30K for 3 months training?
When people think so poorly of themselves like this poster, I feel sympathetic for them. Many companies train their new hires, feed and accommodate them, and still pay them their full salaries, even during probation period. I wonder why some Nigerian graduates here are suffering from low self esteem. Kai, poor education/unemployment has caused serious damage to our self evaluation
Thanks guys for the above comments. Our country is in such a sorry state that we have been generally made to give mighty thanks for crumbs. Now, thinking of the future, when the people don't agree (or are ignorant) that there's a problem, how possible would it be to find a solution? Shey we see that we have a looooong way to go? |
Shey una dey see d kain hopeless mor0n wey dey lead the highest national decision making body? Which kain laws u tink say dem go fit make? |
Hey keep on keeping on men, it's the smarter thing to do. Remember no matter how bad/hard it may feel not to be able to engage in the stinking killer habit, it's even worse to do so. As for me I feel better in my body, I don't stink or cough, I breathe better and I think I'm noticing slight changes in my eyes and skin. I shake my head in my mind when I see my colleagues trooping out to smoke. It feels good to be a nonsmoker. I feel free men and I just wanna encourage you to stay the course if only for your lungs' sake. The other day I saw myself smoking in a dream, when I woke up I just laughed at my mind (the old smoker's mind). I also verbally uprooted the seed that may have been sown in my mind by that picture, by speaking to myself that I was NEVER going to touch a cigarette again until I felt I was convinced in what I was saying. There's no way I'm getting tricked back into that sheit again men, not a chance in freaking hell! ...The battle continues ![]() |
Well you should have been told the offence you were getting accused of and should have been read your charges and rights. How long ago was it? Anyway if you got charged the police should have sent a court summons to the address on your license, have you bothered to check? |
Did the police tell/read you your charges? |
So much trouble for a country that was. |
Ha respect for you on travel matters bros, OP you have been duly advised ooh ![]() |
Listen to justwise pal he's the expert in this area ![]() |
Don't know about this good character section of visa apps but don't see how committing a driving offence implies bad character. UKBA in Nigeria won't do a police check on you and even if they do (which they wont cos its not part of their job as immigration officers) you have no record cos no court convicted you. Were you driving on a provisional license? |
The hot, spicy food, some elements of the culture and church service naija style. |
Well you didn't receive a court summons or did you? As far as you know you don't have a conviction so you won't be lying if you say so. What part of your application has to do with this? |
As they lack the political will to do anything useful for the people they ought to serve they are left with no choice but to major in minor things. These guys have nothing to offer us. Make dem declare their salary dem no gree, make dem pursue Farouk Lawan na lie, but instead na: SIM card registration Countless worthless probes Same sex marriage Now na energy drinks For parliament? taharqa: It is the GENERAL Aviation Terminal(GAT) of the Domestic wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja, like the one at MMIA Lagos. It is an Airport terminal, not a Hanger or a Packing Space. LEARN^ What cheek? You complain of ignorance? Haha see those words are spelt 'hangar' and 'parking' dolt, apparently you need to do a lot of basic LEARNing yourself (by the way, complaining of ignorance while displaying it doesn't look good on anybody).I refuse to waste a further second on the subject #okbye ![]() |
Blame the NFA/NFF/NPL for destroying Nigerian football abeg, no bring outsiders come inside dis matter, abi dem come follow us loot the money ni? If we run our own league properly wouldn't we be better off? The report below of an NPL audit was released today and as usual it's full cases of embezzlement and corrupt practices of league officials who have destroyed whatever was left of the Nigerian league. Na Premiership cause am abi? Abeg face facts jare. Here's an excerpt: "Officials routinely lament that the league is grossly underfunded, but as they do so, they also made it a point to allocate to themselves huge sums of money despite claims of the league’s insolvency, the external audit of the league’s management for year ended June 30, 2012, says.. To hold an annual congress, the NPL’s board solicited and got financial assistance. Critical projects are suspended due to paucity of funds while staff are owed bonuses. Yet officials live large, paying themselves outrageous emoluments and retaining large, expensive apartments in our capital city. After exhausting the goodwill of the league’s bankers with unresolved loans, the board’s directors went obtaining credit wherever one was available. A huge chunk of the loan are spent on frivolous, unaccountable purposes, the document revealed. Once, the league officials took loans from an unregistered microcredit firm, auditors say, and at another time, they borrowed up up to N5.4 million from an individual under questionable terms. The audit report’s verdict was damning: As officials hypocritically complained of frustrating shortage of funds to run the league well, they made sure there was more than enough funds to service their lavish lifestyles" What kind of footballing culture do you think such circumstances will breed? Na premiership fault? Source: How football officials have been stealing millions from cash-strapped Nigeria Premier League |
