taharqa: That is d domestic terminal of d Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, Commercial planes wud use d terminal. Where did u get d idea dat ONLY private airlines wud use it?
Was there no commercial terminal at the airport before they inaugurated the private jet terminal? As the govt apologist you are it's no surprise you're attempting to twist facts again by saying it's also for commercial planes too.
Private jet configurations are massively different from commercial airliners' thus they can hardly share facilities. Or are you trying to lie that 6-20(max) seater private planes and 80+ seater commercial aircraft will use the same terminal facilities? Abi u tink say everybodi na mumu ni?

A private jet terminal will never be accessed by 95%+ of the population.
Can't my people see that this is not a people oriented development?
They are spending money on themselves and people are commending them tschhew

EducationRe: Who Is To Blame For The Rot In Our Education System? by 1forall: 2:28pm On Jan 21, 2013
The Nigerian government does NOT want the citizens to be educated.

See, a generally literate and educated populace would not be easy for the government to abuse and cheat the way the Nigerian government is doing because such a populace would quickly question how their government treats them and handles their commonwealth.

So, it does not pay the Nigerian government to educate the people.

PS: The rotten state of our education system is evident on this thread already sad
EducationRe: Who Is To Blame For The Rot In Our Education System? by 1forall: 12:12am On Jan 21, 2013
1forall: Nigerian governments have strategically been dis-educating (apologies to Pius Adesanmi) the Nigerian citizen for decades. Our educational institutions have been left to rot and its no wonder that private Nigerian citizens spent ₦160b (more than the national budget for education) on education in Ghana in 2011, that we've spent even more in Europe and USA over the years, that we now have Nigerians studying in Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Malaysia etc, that illiteracy figures have forever remained sky high, that education no longer holds the attraction it used to, that the youth are as you say; hopeless in the midst of opportunity, and that the average mind appears to reason upside down these days.

It is a powerful strategic tool that governments have used to mentally disenfranchise citizens, afterall only those who are educated and know better can demand their rights and clamor against injustice. A dis-educated citizenry is the perfect playground for perpetual corruption and successive Nigerian governments have never taken that lightly.

HealthRe: Stopped Smoking? How Did You Manage It? by 1forall:
It's good you say you want to quit. Now you've done it for 4+ years and developed a psychological addiction too (you say it's sweet and you find solace in it), so its smart to set a realistic target quit date and not a hopeful one. You would need to deal with both addictions - psych and nicotine. I personally think the psych one is more difficult to get rid of than the other.

Thinking point: Have you truly had enough? Or do you still want that last one?

Like I said earlier if you really mean business; research Allen Carr, the British guy who stopped smoking after 33 years. He was doing 100 sticks/day (imagine that shocked) by the time he quit at age 48. He went on to live to 72. After he stopped, he became a quitting smoking evangelist and an expert at psychological dependency analysis writing many books, delivering lectures and TV programs, and developing a quitting method they now call the Allen Carr method. He said that one of the reasons a smoker finds it hard to quit is fear. Yes, that fear. The fear that you will no longer 'enjoy' a cigarette. The fear of failing to quit. And there are certainly other fears. During Allen Carr's sessions he allowed participants to go outside to smoke and come back to continue.

See, once you start to find out about Allen Carr, you're bound to come across other quitting smoking stuff. Just follow the leads of the Internet there's lots out there to pick up on.

For people like you and me (before) who 'enjoy' it and find it hard to think of a life without bazz wink quitting smoking is more of a process than an act, so start yours as soon as you notice you have that mental momentum to let it go.

HealthRe: Stopped Smoking? How Did You Manage It? by 1forall:
^ You know, I've been reading through the responses which increased since the topic made the FP and I noticed that you were the only smoker on this thread who admitted having an addiction. That is a good thing and one of the 1st steps on the road to quit.

Every smoker has a nicotine addiction but many do not like to admit it, and it's virtually impossible to stop for people who prefer to deny the fact that nicotine has a hold over them. See, if you can be patient enough, do this (it's better if you haven't smoked for some time): Observe how you feel in your head immediately after you inhale the first drag - it takes less than a second for nicotine to hit your brain and if you're not observant enough you may not even notice it, that's the feeling of nicotine in action.

Regarding your question, there is a mental boost which improves your psychological well-being and your breathing also improves. The body heals and restores itself naturally (though the lungs can never fully return to be like a a non-smoker's) and there are lung cleansing techniques (diet, herbs) all over the internet if you wish. As for the lips, there's consolation in that they can never get darker than they are after you stop burning them, but I believe that they would lighten with time as your skin replenishes itself too though much slower than other organs.

HealthRe: Stopped Smoking? How Did You Manage It? by 1forall:
dayokanu: Its not as hard if you have the willpower
Willpower to stop smoking is just a cliche. Allen Carr has proved willpower is not what it takes, and that trying through willpower is only going to fail. It takes love for self, honesty, commonsensical reasoning and saying 'I've had enough' (which is what can be likened to willpower).

Cos when 'willpower' fails, those primary reasons that drive the desire to quit will remain.

HealthRe: Stopped Smoking? How Did You Manage It? by 1forall:
That's long enough for it to be a challenge to quit. Well when you've made the decision start to feed your mind with anti-smoking information. Find out more about Allen Carr, his stories and methods.

Allen Carr was a British author of books about quitting smoking and other psychological dependencies including alcohol addiction. He quit smoking after 33 years as a 100 sticks/day chain smoker. - Wikipedia

Read about several others who have overcome the habit, there are lots of them on youtube - everyone has their own theory or method/trick/explanation to quitting and you should find one that would appeal to your senses. If you have to watch scary hospital lab videos to appreciate the damage you're doing to yourself by yourself then do it - remember you need to conclude that you've had enough before all this so you don't waste your effort.

One of the videos that helped me appreciate the damage smoking does was one of two lungs side by side, one belonging to a smoker, and the other a non-smoker:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2glFau9ORAY

The black coating is the tar in cigarettes, it's the same tar used on road surfaces and is cumulatively deposited in/on the lungs and there's no way such lungs can function normally. How can they when they say there are over 4000 chemicals in a cigarette, 69 of which are known to cause cancer - Click here for more on that

I did a list of positives and negatives of smoking and couldn't find anything to write in the positive column, na so so negatives like: serious danger to health, general social stigma, offensive smell, waste of money, addiction (yes, addicition) to nicotine. See technically (and medically), there's no difference between a tobacco user and a 'junkie'. See in the attached image from wikipedia the only drugs more addictive than tobacco are cocaine and heroin.

Continually expose your mind to this kind of information in combination with your conclusion to quit to lead you to your own personal exit from the smoking highway to death.

PS: I am not trying to scare you or make you feel bad, I just don't know how to make a bad thing sound nice. Note I'm still working on myself daily too to ensure I don't fall. Good luck!
