Thank you sooo much Doctor, we really do appreciate. Just got off the line with my friend and she told me that the boils at the back of lo's neck finally bursted on its own. Meanwhile, I did a bit of research on it during leisure time today. Just as you diagnosed, it has something to do with a bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). It is a skin abcess, the fact that the furuncles(boils) moves from one part to another is the annoying part. It is only when the boils move to lo's head that we can drain it out otherwise it keeps moving from one part to another part of her torso.

Number 1, we ensure that she's given pain reliever once she's in pain or running high temperature. Number 2 eh, lo has even caught cold (cough and catarrh) as a result of that sef, they just got Vitamin C drops for her. We'll definitely try number 3, we're always careful of number 4. The boils actually should be allowed to burst on their own. The reason for draining becomes necessary if it is causing unbearable pains and sleep disturbances. Like I said before, this will be a child in the nearest future you all will watch with smile watching him less disturbed by boils as she grows. This will only be possible if you stay continuously on management for the now.
For the cough and cold, it will also pass being as a result of low down on functional immunity, stress or organic. The Cefuroxime is okay,other things remain equal. As for the coconut oil, make it yourself from the fruit. Go and get this homeopathic product, Visita Plus. Get the made coconut oil and press in some volume(not much) of Visita plus in to the container having the oil. Mix thoroughly and apply daily as a pomade on her skin, report back to me in one week.

Thanks for your response Dr. We haven't taken her to see another doctor, we wanted to do that few weeks back but corona came into town so we didn't know what to do. No, she wasn't born with any health problem

Alright. This boil formation recurrency is due to Staphylococcal infection. But it will be something she will get over as she grows. However, for the now management will require your:
1) Use pain reliever such as Emzor liquid paracetamol to reduce pain and temperature.
2) Expose body to aeration.
3) Application of coconut oil may help
4) Draining the boil should be carefully to avoid spreading of agent into deeper tissues.
5) Continue with the Ampiclox neonate oral drops.
6) See doctor soon as this corona virus situation comes down a bit for proper care and support.

Dr i have taken numerous drugs but this symptoms still persist.anytime i do test,its usually malaria and after treatment i will still feel d same symptoms.i was diagnos of staph and dr gave me ciprofloxacin,i felt relief but symptoms camr back agaib.

It wouldn't be bad you have an abdominal scan done since you are complaining of pains in every quadrant. I think it is cool. You may also share the reason he hasn't up till now suggested an abdominal scan.

Doctors in the house, a friend's baby is having sooo much boils, it has become a really disturbing situation. The little one(lo) started having these boils some days before she turned 3months. We initially thought it had something to do with teething cos she was having teething rash, drooling, pulling at her cheeks, nose, hair and ears, high body temperature and swollen itchy gums. The boils were persistent even after the pus was drained out, she was then given ampiclox neonate oral drops which was said to last for 5days. She's 4months+ now, the boils reduced or so we thought only for it to come back some weeks back. Initially, it started on her jaw then moved to her upper back, neck, head and lower back. We got some penicillin for the boils, but it didn't go away. We thought it was heat cos the weather was really very very very hot and lo was always sweating excessively that she had to have a change every 3/4hrs. She won't sleep during the day and won't sleep at night either just crying, pulling at her face and trying to scratch off the boils. We eventually took her to the hospital, they didn't even examine the boils they just said we should buy one mixture and rub it on the 'kokoro'. They didn't even want to listen to us, they felt like we shouldn't try to tell them how to do their job they know sooo well. We were pissed, bought the mixture and ran malaria test for the excessive sweating, high body temperature and fever, result came out negative though. The mixture contains coconut oil, sulfur and c-base, we were sceptical about using it but we later decided to give it a try since we've done all we could. Lo cries sooo much when we apply it, it must have been very harsh for her body so we stopped and trashed the mixture. The boils have gotten to her chest now but all the boils seem to be draining into the one at the back of her neck cos its increasing in size by the day, we tried draining it out but to no avail. The boils keep moving to different parts of her body, the back of her ears, her hand now her left outer ear, some of it later drain into the big boils at the back of her neck. Her parents are practically losing their mind, they don't know what else to do. Hospital is a no no for now until COVID-19 blows off. It really hurts seeing lo in sooo much pain, she cries everytime when bathing, eating, she can't lie down or even play with anyone just tears, tearss and more tearsss Please do you know what can be done about this? Please help, she's such a sweet little girl.

Apart from the first doctor you took the baby to,have you guys taken him to see another doctor?
Apart from the boil recurrency, was she born with any health problem?

Hello Doc, please I really need your help

I have been having stomach aches around my stomach ( upper, lower and side). The ache is sharp and sometimes mild. I also experience dizziness and tiredness most of the time.

I was at the hospital few days ago and made a complaint , the doc suggest I do urine analysis, PVC, malaria and typhoid. The result shows that my urine is fine , the Doc said my PVC is43 and also OK.
However, he said I still have malaria and a bit if typhoid. Now I am undergoing treatment for that.

The issue is I am not getting better and even the doc cannot explaining. Any suggestion ?

Can I see the result that had you confirmed to have malaria and typhoid fever?
Have you done an abdominal scan regarding this?

Though I am tempted to give treatment to you on syndromic approach but it would be better to have a High Vaginal Swabbing to confirm Bacterial vaginosis,or even trichomoniasis.

A colleague of mine had lost 2 babies in a space of 2 years (being 2nd and 3rd pregnancy). Both babies took ill and died at approximately 6 months of age. I do believe you have the doctor's call line that is leading you on this investigation. It would have been good enough to have him hear you out and at the same time tell what to do. For the now in your case, I am just in the middle.
I would only advise that you stay off medications and alcohol that could spite off fulminance of the inflamed liver. Maintain a good hygiene, and when you have some level of cash you can go for proper health review and continuance of treatment.

You observe and watch if this feeling can go on it own for a time being. Should it continues after a certain period of watching, then report this to the doctor so as to have you properly examined for every causes of Dysphagia.

It is common with women. This happens if the blood concentration of hCG is not great enough to pass into the urine. The common sense here is that, the home pregnancy Point of Care testing could not have detected it due to low hCG or that the pregnancy is developing slowly, or the stripping wasn't done properly. Whatever is above this is one not good to hear.

The fever has subsided significantly, but the weakness and joint pain in leg and the stomach hot discomfort that comes and go.

Also doctor, Yesterday, when the nurse administered the two antibiotics to me, she dropped the one of the used syringe that had no needle on the small metal tray and my residual blood from the needle-less syringe splashed on the Tray.
She took a cotton wool, cleaned the blood thoroughly from the tray and then used the same cotton wool to stop my wound.

I was furious, because I assumed that metal tray could be harbouring dried blood of past users. And I know most of these blood borne viruses survive for quite a while.

Has she exposed me to hepatitis B and C and HIV, or am I being paranoid. ?

I do believe you health condition is improving from your first paragraph. Please stick to treatment and duration given to it.

It is enough to be paranoid. It is good to see you have a great sense of how a nurse should have her duty done too. I would in her place have you that it wasn't intentional but automatism,though it is true that a sticky cotton can pick up causative agents to most conditions. But for the time she had it on rubbed which I guess may not be too great, there are good chances that she might not have passed something into you. But then, we will advice that you monitor yourself closely for symptoms not common with you for the present and the next 2-3weeks to be assured if anything has gone wrong. Please call the doctors for help if you have more serious complaint.

Go and have a normal dosage shot(for adult) of Rocephin. Just once. Use 250mg of Ampiclox for 7days,morning and evening.

I would also want to know if this chest pain of yours improves after treatment. So, after the treatment kindly write me to sit on the chest pain properly if at all it is still felt after treatment.

I took a lot of antibiotics like Cipro tab late last year because I was having pains all over my body including my chest, including fever and internal burning heat in my chest and stomach region. and I assumed it was infection.

The last antibiotic I took was augmentin and I discovered that after finishing it, I started to scratch under my legs, with significant weakness in my leg region and tingling in my hands and feet and dizziness that comes and go.

The heart burn and fever get worse at night with serious sweating and lose of appetite.
I have also been taking antacids .

Though the fever subside in the afternoon but get worse at night.
I have taken anti malaria drugs to no avail.

I did PCV test, and It was 41% which was very good.

For the now after serving round many medications, what are your present signs and symptoms?

He said that the imbalance seized her period and she wouldn't be able to have a normal cycle till it was restarted and best corrected immediately to avoid problems later..

You may need to present before us a culture test done and the respective sensitivity written before we can help you on this.

Sometimes last year I was having a serious itching in my eyes which also affected my throat. My friend was diagnosed of Chronic kidney disease and he's been dialyzed thrice. The second dialysis results was good because the urea and creatinine level was slightly higher but when the third one was done..The urea and creatinine level shot up incredibly. My take was the third one wasn't properly done because he said it took hours before they could get his veins so they opted for his hands instead of thighs.

Hello Doctor, please what's the best test to know how well the functions of internal organs like liver, kidney, intestines etc Does full abdominal scam ideal to know functions of these organs? I don't have any pain in stocmach or any problem with my stomach presently but I just wanna give myself thorough examination to be on safer side after what I experienced not too long and taking lots of medication (although based on doctors recommendation). Knowing ones health status helps a lot as there are some times there will be no sign but disease/infection will be present in the body. Kindly let me know if full abdominal ultrasound is enough to detect health & how well function one's liver, stomach, bladder, kidney and other internal organs but if otherwise kindly let me know correct test for each organ to know how well they are. I've done hepatitis test in the past which shows non reactive and I learnt it's for liver functions.

The use of scan is not enough to claim wellness to an organ in a body. Scan is merely useful to detect anatomical or morphologic changes coming from the bases of diseases or iatrogenesis. Therefore, it is just a part of normal health procedure to detect some level of wellness in the whole.
It is not encouraged to trip down in doing all the common or known tests and scans on your organs without a doctor's advice as some are really not necessary and some are even costly to do and not to forget that some can predisposed the patient to some certain problems. So, I will not go into my brain to post procedures for you to do yourself. If you think you have problem with your health, discus this with a doctor and what to do will be directed to you.
