van bonattel: Even with the vast bushes of Ekiti ondo OshÙn? There is a village where monkeys eat supper with humans in ogbomosho. Apart from lies and cheating, igbo will easily constitute 55% of naijiriya.
Igbo's live in those vast bushes besides the monkeys and even feed them. Check those villages na grin grin grin

asha 80: hehe i can see you do not know much about the south east especially anambra and imo axis.scanty indeed lol.please stop the ignorance.you are the one that is actually unexposed.that you see lots of igbos in the west means jack when looking at th population in the east sheesh.i guess the north would also say the same thing judging from the population of igbos in the north.
I have been to Enugu, ebonyi and even Aba is scanty. The landmass vs population is very small compared to SW states. This is a fact. The Igbo population in the SW is no small feat. So when you and yours issue threats, you better think. Same mistake Nzeogwu made. Thinking of monetary gain or power and not of the fact that his people were outside the region in massive population. The massacre of Igbo's did not even include the SW. They were given the chance to return to their region with no harm coming to them.

asha 80: no be only 70% but 100% cheesy funny dude.
Come and check them out in the SW. I am very serious. Even the remotest places in Idanre hills have Igbos. This is why your states are scanty. Nothing wrong with exposed Igbo's living and thriving in the SW. But the notion that they will bring fight to SW and nothing will happen is a dream. It is the village ones/ the escapees (Ojukwu's generals in aso oke attire) and descendants of child soldiers that constantly come on NL to talk.

phreakabit: When the time comes, may you sufferenjoy the same death as Awolowo. Say Amen if your father wasn't born out of wedlock
It is not today your propaganda started. Start with action first. Afterall you do realise 70% of your population is in the SW? And we are triple your size in population, this is not counting the ones that live outside the SW? You must live abroad. Make sure you come and fight and witness. I hope we dont hear about cries of extinction. Till then you can sit back in your toilet job and fight on the internet, while your oga is on break. I asked you to say amen to your lie, why are you shifting the goal post? Do they teach you guys to lie and boast when you are born or what? is it cultural?

You dey Vex ? HAHAHA Awolowo took a hot cup of rat poison and bread for breakfast and he died like a R-A-T!! End of story
Your kwashiorkor brain is evident. The fact remains Awo died very peacefully, while Ojukwu witnessed hell on earth. His wife galivanting and prostituting. Him being abandoned and starved like the children of biafra were for a long time before Igbo's put money together for better care for him. The guy died a very shameful death. What a pity. Awo died a hero, his house is a museum and his grave is well tendered. N one even knows where Ojukwu was buried. grin grin grin grin grin

Well i can categorically tell you that you have been deceived. You talk like someone that kwashiorkor affected his brain. Should you be telling any lies, may none of your generations amount to anything. Henceforth they shall die of poverty. Say Amen if dem born ya papa well.

phreakabit: You are right Awo did accomplish more for his people, than the eternal FAILURE Zik could ever do. However, I think I will be on point if I say, respect is hardly given to people who commit suicide?
The fact that the guy died peacefully after all your perceived attacks on his person, is too much to bear. So you now start to tell lies and tales at your age. At least we know Ojukwu suffered tremendously before he died. perhaps God's way of paying him back for his overambitious wickedness against his own people?

Katsumoto: Just observe at how all the Biafrans shamelessly ignored the issue of Ojukwu charging landing fees to aid agencies who were bringing in free food to feed starving Biafrans.

But they will not hesitate to blame Awolowo for starvation like Awo was the Minister for Agriculture in Biafra.
Awolowo was the leader of Biafra. He was charged to deliver food and entertainment every night, but refused to. he was also charged with providing soldiers but refused to. This led Ojukwu to commit human rights violation like boy soldiers. In which generals in other countries are being prosecuted for by the UN

Eziachi: Don't flatter yourself.
This a match between Yoruba (Kayode) and North (Farouk) over who and why they fought the war against Biafra. Farouk said it was them that won the war and that you Yoruba should be thankful.
And Kayode fired back IN ANGER and revealed what is not meant to be said in the open that if not because of the fact, that your leader was deceived by the sound of presidency by 29 year old Gowon, that the north stand nor chance and then boasted that the well documented war crime committed by the 3rd marine commando was actually dominated by the Yoruba by 95%.
We are just bystanders watching and listening as the two former lovers are washing their dirty underpant in public.
Why are you attacking us with your Okpara did not die sermon as if we decide on who dies in a military coup?
Why wasn't Obasanjo or other southern officers killed along with Murtala? We don't know because its military business and so too 1966, 67, 76, 84 etc.
But how come a bunch of ragtag Yoruba volunteers made up of students and people that made sculptures defeated the almighty ogbunigwe with a 100% success rate? huh. So what happens if we include our Baloguns? You people would have been living in the UN by now. Adekunle, a 20somthing yr old for that matter and OBJ a man in his early to mid 30's. They were small small boys compared to the military tacticians the Yoruba had. grin cheesy. We may not be prominent in the military, but you do understand that culturally, we have our own military people? They are made up of special families in every Yoruba subgroup. And once war is imminent their families have to defend the Yoruba?

Take a look at your bolded statement again and tell us who is ruling Kwara?
LMAO, you are very pained and use Ilorin as a reference. You have obviously not been to Ilorin, since you wore aso oke and iro and buba like Ojukwu and escaped to London. You as an old man actually rely on the tales by moonlight being spread by your infantile youngins on NL. What a pity. I see why you Igbo's talk and reason the way you do. Too much sentiment and emotion. If you as a tribe are so emotional you have no business looking for trouble or fighting wars. FYI, Yoruba's were fighting wars from all angles. Internal and external, so definitely there would be battles lost and won but what matters is who won the war. Yoruba's till today won the war and retained their territories. Such cannot be said of Igboland, who lost to a group of under trained Yoruba students, painters and artisans. You people should go and hide. Imagine, we have not even released our society of vigilante's who live in the bush and who for generations have been groomed to face all kinds of physical and psychological training. Ordinary students and a 20something yr old Adekunle won the war with a 100% success rate. Adekunle was EzeUche the storyteller's mate. grin grin grin cheesy

Obiagu1: Everything is beginning to make sense to me.

-Awolowo had a pact with Biafra to declare Oduduwa Republic
-Biafra sent soldiers, led by a Yoruba, to beef up Yoruba army since they complained they did not have enough to fend off the Northerners
-Biafra soldiers led by Col. Banjo got stuck at Ore as the signal and the declaration was not forthcoming
-Awolowo changed his mind when he was promised Presidency and decided to join forces against Biafrans.
-3rd Marine Commandos was constituted led by a Yoruba to attack Biafra.
The revision continues. Abeg, i wan die of laughter from this post. Make una no kill peson for NL. rotflmao! Where is kobojunkie to come an supply the laughing stone. Who again were they going to send towards the SW? A yoruba soldier that knows the terrain and the language of course. Banjo knew that if he did not peacefully ask, him and his ancestors plus generations would have been dealt with. He is not an Igbo afterall. He understood that while choosing alliances, respect for his people and culture was ultimate. Igbo's failed in their unplanned war. just deal with it and move on. Igbo's were fighting to secede, why advance to the SW to rescue them? I thought secession was removal, and not rule over the country. So why the interest in the seat of power?

Katsumoto: It has been alleged that 3 million Igbos died during the war. Most of those that died, did so from starvation. How could 3 million die from starvation? Were the leaders so wicked that they couldn’t surrender when they couldn't feed their citizens? Yet Igbos would blame everyone but themselves for these unnecessary deaths.

After 3 years of intermittent fighting, because Ojukwu was winning the propaganda war, Ojukwu would escape dressed like a woman (according to Madiebo the Biafran commanding officer). Was there no honour amongst the Biafran high command? Whatever you may say about the Nigerian leaders in Lagos, they weren’t seeing women and children starve to death everyday.

Instead Biafran soldiers fed fat while children died. Ojukwu charged landing fees to charities that were bringing in food supplies and medicine.

LMAO. Igbo's went to war unprepared, with only their mouth. Just like the come on NL with only mouth. I remember older relatives still give account till today after how Igbo's were even taunting Yoruba's in the SW when the coup happened. They thought Yoruba's were foolish, and would let them rule over them. Just like they keep taunting people on NL today. They take the calm nature of Yoruba's for granted. We ended the war, but never boast about it. Such is the nature and culture of the Yoruba. They say history is bound to repeat itself when we do not learn from our past. It must be part of their culture to talk unguardedly and dangerously. Instead of them to focus on Ojukwu and his war crimes of kidnapping Igbo children to fight in the war, and damage they and their generations psychologically till today, they are still busy chasing shadows and blaming ghosts.lmao.

Eziachi: You don't seems to be doing any good job at fighting them, as:
They have conquered Ilorin and Offa and install their Emir.
They promised your presidency and left you minister of finance after the war.
They took away the capital from your land to Abuja.
Killed your most illustrious son MKO/his wife for no reason.
Humiliated your most senior army officers before the whole world in Diya, A.K Adisa etc.
I want you to react page by page what Mr Fani Kayode has revealed about your revered late leader, no point dancing around the issue.
No body conquered Ilorin, the emir of Ilorin is for the northerners. He has no say on the Yoruba majority.

They took away the capital to a more central location, Lagos was too small to be a capital anyway. A yoruba man, Aguda was instrumental in the relocation. And even the removal of the capital has still not stopped the SW's development. You Igbo's sit down and shout marginalization, we work.

After the war, Igbo's have still not recovered their voice in Nigeria. Focus on that and reflect.

They killed 3million Igbo's. You people are still crying over that

Humiliated you as a people in general and we can see you still cry all over NL. Ojukwu the symbol of Igbo land wore aso oke buba and iro to escape. He even came back to beg these same northerner's that led the slaughter of 3million Igbo's for help. Have you people no shame or pride? Do you hear Yoruba's whining as much as you?

grin grin grin grin grin

Igbo's need a lot of psychological help.

Fani kayode is not credible. But he is right in that Yoruba's ended the war. That mallam throwing infantile bullsh*it has just been schooled. Must be a typical NLer. All mouth, no brains. Awo did what was necessary for his people and he will always be loved and remembered for that. Igbo's had been trying to rule the west so they could not be trusted. Why match to SW when your enemies are in the north? You can declare victory from your village. SW cannot be ruled by a foreigner. We don't even give corrupt Oba's the luxury of peace not to talk of a different tribe.

You guys should leave the guy alone as you are making it worse for the woman. Out of an ego trip, he will start behaving worse to justify what he claims are her flaws. Trust me on this, he has been totally embarrassed and made to look foolish to his slave (wife) on NL. He will go to any length to prove he is the man and that he is right, just as his mission for bringing it on NL. From all he has written, it seems he is the major problem in the marriage. He needs an attitude adjustment. He will keep fighting to prove a point or to look like the man. I dont think your wife has balls OP, so definitely she cannot be the man. Accept when you are wrong, and apologise. Your wife is pregnant and you are dragging small inconsequential issues. You should be more worried about the health of your child and your wife. Just give it a rest and accept that all this was ridiculous. We learn everyday and we grow everyday. Nothing bad or disastrous in being wrong or offending your wife. The guy is a natural trouble maker. Am sure he puts his life's frustrations on the wife, and blames her for everything and picks on everything she does when he has a bad day. Because how do we explain moving a cup being an issue? When you should be the one even cooking or going to take your food? The only person i really pity in this is the woman. This is going to be a very looooooooong ride. Goodluck grin

Why do you want to force a child on someone that doesn't want her? Please don't damage that child. Protect her innocence and make sure she is very well taken care of and protected in this new marriage. Any thing that comes up in the future, listen to her even if it puts your husband to be in a bad light. I hope you are not settling down desperately to get back at the guy. Let your new husband be her real father for now. When the real father wants to know who she is he will come and look for her. People have so many different resons for the decisions they take. It may have been something he heard about you from a reliable source that made him turn against you and your child so badly. Am talking from what I have experienced with a close family friend. Just let him be and focus on your happiness.

This is where father's come in. The mum can teach her how to carry herself, cook and manners but cannot accurately build her self esteem. The father reinforcing and uplifting her self esteem works magic on girl children. You run less of a risk of having an emotional, clingy, needy, low self esteemed tragedy of a child. This is why it is important women look very well before they marry a guy. This is the father's role. And he can even only do this by example.I also think having an open relationship with the mother, praising her when she has done well, rewarding hardwork and telling her how beautiful she is will help too. - you may end up bringing up a hell of a woman, who is unbreakable by any guy, and fiercely independent though.

fantababy: Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I feel much better. The funny thing is that we fasted, prayed, cried, sowed seeds before this pregnancy came! I know I can be moody, but I try to always be cheerful.

I don't want to mention a lot of horrible things he says when we have an argument. He can really be sweet at times, but when the other side shows up, it is very bad.

I used to be afraid of him, until late last year. I put my foot down & said never again would I be scared of this man.

We are age mates, so it's not a thing that he is far older than me. We both struggled together to get to where we are.

My comfort is that am not the only one he treats like that. He is just a big bully, who likes to put people down. I can trace his attitude back to his childhood/upbringing.

I pray for him all the time.

I try to gently let him know that pregnancy entails a lot. I give him stories about all the horrible pregnancy risks, I tell him to research more and ask his colleagues about pregnancy. I even tell him ahead of time when my mood is bad.

Am really hurt, and when I try to forgive so as to move ahead, another one happens. Imagine me at 37 weeks pregnancy, getting back from work, making yam & egg, only for me to serve and he says he is not interested in eating again. What was my offense? That I have refused to take my maternity leave.I have explained to him that my tiredness / aches is not due to office work, but it is normal pregnancy syndrome. I let him know that house work is more strenuous that my office work. (My work is as a finance officer and I delegate most of it. I have my own office, so I can sleep whenever I want to).I have explained to him times without number, that we get only 3 months maternity in Nigeria and as such, pregnant women strive to work till the very end or closer to their EDD, so as to have the whole 3 months with the baby.

He is a regular visitor on Nairaland but he visits only the front page. I really don't care if he sees this. I know I have tried and am tired of trying.
Then we have to get this to the front page. Though hard, i want you to also be aware of your moods and how it affects your relationship. Maybe you should read some self help books and things to make you a better person. Fine, he did all these which are very bad. But he may also come here with allegations against you. I think your problem is communication and the guy is a bit immature. I will think if this baby cost you both so much, he will be more compassionate. If he knows your ID on NL, am sure he is reading this silently. You can also direct him to the page so he understands the effects of hi behavior. There is also a thread here that people talk about their pregnancy and how their spouses dealt with it. Goodluck. Just relax and free your mind. You are almost there. Congratulations in advance.
Thirdly, you mentioned your dad live some distance away from you? So I'm assuming you do have some relatives in that town too? If so, try and ask 1 or 2 females to assist you with going to the market. Purchase your food items in bulk. Things like rice, beans, dried pepper, Palm / Vegetable cooking oil, spices, etc. If you've got constant source of electricity, even better. Buy perishables like meat, fish, chicken, etc and store away in your deep freezer.

Also ask the girl(s) to help you cook in bulk, so you can store away, especially pepper soup. These should last you a couple of weeks after you get home. Trust me, you won't find the time and energy to cook then, the way you can now, especially with the baby in tow.

As for the pelvic pains, speak to your doctor, though I doubt there's much they can do about it. What's happening here is the baby pressing down on your muscles, and your pelvis is also expanding in preparation for the birth. I know it feels like hell 'cos I went through the same thing too. Just hang on in there and it'll soon be over.

And finally, PLEASE, PLEASE AND PLEASE, resist the temptation to get into an argument with your hubby. The last thing you need is developing High BP in pregnancy. If his words or actions offend you, simply say "okay", then get up and leave the room. If na long face im wan carry, let him carry it. You don't need to see that. Learn to pick your battles and live to fight another day. There would be time to address the issues you raised, but NOT NOW. Get some CDs or download your favourite tunes. Listen to music when you feel stressed - it'll help you relax. Get yourself your favourite magazines / books. Go to the saloon. Fix your hair, your nails, pamper yourself, do the things you love doing.

See my signature? What does it say? What doesn't break you only serves to make you stronger. Now go and be happy with yourself.

All the best and safe delivery kiss
fantababy: I have decided that since no one wants to pamper me, I would pamper myself. I would cook when I have the energy, (no point stressing myself for a man that does not appreciate), I would sit by the beach, read a book & let the wind sooth my troubled heart, I would go the cinemas, walk around the malls, eat out & buy lovely things for myself……..
I agree with both of these. Forget all the suggestions about revenge and fighting. Also check yourself, have you been behaving differently. You said you are melancholic naturally, which i assume will become a lot worse in pregnancy. No one wants to be around a moody person all the time. i think if you take the time and patience to explain things to him, there will be changes. Also explain the hormonal changes and your personality issue. Quite frankly, i personally cant stand moody people. huh. You can also choose to be different and be a happy person. You dont always have to be depressed. You can choose to fight it or get some help. Depressed people can make others depressed or very unhappy. Especially when you are lost in your own bubble.

Look guy, if you are looking for submission. Buy a goat and be beating it every morning to submission. No human being is ever like that. Stop being deluded and let your wife be herself. As long as she respects you, doesn't attack you or unnecessarily insult you then I see no issue. Humans are humans, so give some space for error. Am sure you are not perfect yourself. And trust me, in a marriage you would want to have two heads thinking instead of one. You make less mistakes in life that way. Most of our fathers wanted to be so in control, but ended up making very bad decisions and fu*cking up a lot. Calm down on the submission and respect thing. Respect is earned not forced. If you are disrespecting yourself in front of her, then don't complain when she disrespects you. What you are demanding is impossible. A human being may pretend to be submissive if they have something to gain. But once that is over they show their true colors. You have a real person on your hands, which can be a good thing because she will tell you the truth even when you don't want to hear it. If you want absolute submission, purchase a dog. Goodluck, and enjoy your marriage. Its a beautiful thing when you have the maturity and the right mentality. It is a partnership not a master-slave relationship.

Why are you looking for control or someone to control? If you see the relationship as a partnership am sure things will go smoothly. It is not natural to ever be able to control a human being. A human being is not a toy or car. They can think for themselves. So relax and focus on being a partner. Life is too short to be going mad, and obsessing about controlling anyone. You may just end up losing it all.

IF you can know how to do am and born pikin, you better be able to raise them. I think relatives abroad should stop helping. This world is every man for himself. Because people think there is one relative somewhere that can feed them if all goes bad, they keep breeding kids like dogs. I can support small small, here and there. But i am sorry, i cannot take another person's responsibility on my head. Am sure i have enough. I wouldn't even send my child to school abroad if they are not capable, not to talk of relative. Sending a kid abroad does not mean automatic success. tongue. Good post OP. Nigerians always feel entitled to another person's money. But are too cowardly to ask their government to do the right thing, so that they will not be begging from relative to relative.
