I am tired of all these recycled names people are suggesting. Is it that the North does not have fresh intelligent people capable of running the affairs of the nation at the highest level? |
To moi, every day is val's day. why settle for one day, when you can show and receive love all year round! I have wisened up. |
Yes nah. Didn't you see how SouthAfrican President Jacob Zuma danced on his traditional wedding day? |
Goodluck Jonathan is now the Acting President? We don't know for how long. So what do you want him to do immediately to address the challenges facing Nigeria and Nigerians? Please list your priorities to enable him move fast. |
my concern is why did the americans appear on the day that Jonathan was made acting president? even when they black-listed us as a nation of terrorist interest. i remember they were there the day MKO Abiola died? |
Something like: BACK TO THE BASICS or STARTING AFRESH |
That Goodluck Jonathan is now the Acting President is no longer news. What is news is what he is doing and what he will do. Apart from addressing the key issues pending in Nigeria (eg the 7 point agenda), some people have suggested that the Acting President should get a new wardrobe director, change his wardrobe and his dress sense. Others have also suggested that he should be groomed to act, smile, talk with a confident swagger of a world class President, etc. What do you think? How do we repackage the Acting President. It has a lot to do with perception and carriage. |
@ Toideve An Acting President does not need a Vice President. If Yaradua comes back to office, Jonathan will revert to his VP role. If for any reason, the Acting VP cannot continue to do his functions, the Senate President will take over. |
Jonathan is Acting President not President. He does not require an Acting Vice President. |
Goodluck Jonathan has become the Acting President and Commander-in Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces. This follows the call by several Nigerians, including eminent/former heads of state, and especially a resolution by the National Assembly empowering him to take charge as acting president. What is the future for Nigeria? Will Goodluck Jonathan bring good luck to Nigeria and address the myriad of problems confronting the people of this nation? |
Nigerians should hold their peace and sheath their swords. Amodu was neither sacked nor demoted. He still retains his position as head coach of the super eagles. NFF is just employing a technical adviser to assist him. Amodu would still be in SA2010 world cup. In fact he will still be in charge on March 3 when Nigeria plays Paraguay in a friendly match. |
Here we go again. Please tell me, did the above irregularities affect only Uba and Ngige? I guess it was a system problem which affected all the parties. I guess that the election was generally fair, non-violent, no lives lost and generally reflect the wishes of the Anambra people. Kudos to Anambra State for showing the way this time around. |
It has happened before! June is just around the corner (SA 2010 world cup) I hope NFF will not come back to beg Amodu. |
Well, the match ended 2:0 in favour of Chelsea. Up Blues. |
Anambra State did not explode neither did it implode! THE ELECTION WAS DECLARED FAIR BY almost ALL. Almost all the gubernatorial candidates have conceded victory to Peter Obi. The election was not violent, no lives were lost. Though it had some imperfections (anyway there are no perfect elections anywhere in the world- remember Al Gore/Bush in USA) Anambra State has shown Nigeria the way forward!!!!!!!. NIGERIANS! Let's forget all these bickerings and celebrate this feat for ONCE. Something good has come out of Anambra State and indeed Nigeria. A credible election which represents the wish of the people of the state. |
END OF STORY. Anambra State did not explode neither did it implode! THE ELECTION WAS DECLARED FAIR BY almost ALL. Anambra State has shown Nigeria the way forward!!!!!!!. |
As the gubernatorial election comes up in Anambra State on February 6, 2010, there have been concerns that the state may either explode or implode. This is apparently based on fears of electoral violence in Nigeria as a whole. Will it continue in Anambra State? The intrigues. Who wins the Election? I think the election will be peaceful. The state will neither explode nor implode. The quest for Nigeria's independence from colonialism was spearheaded by Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe from Anambra State. In the same way, Anambra State is leading a revolution for change in Nigeria's democratic or political governance. So shall it be? |
Tonye-t:Hmmmmmmm Tonye-t Posers. 1. Whose job is it to send Amodu on refresher course? Definitely not Amodu. 2. Whose job is it to invite/employ good hands to help the coach? Definitely not Amodu. |
Nigerians are indeed perculiar people, always looking for scape goats. Instead of addressing the root cause of the problem, they are succumbing to a temporary easy way out by playing to the gallery. Like the proverbial ostrich that buries its head in the sand, Nigerians want to put all the blame on Amodu's head thinking that will solve the problem. Wake up! The problem of Nigerian football goes beyond changing or not changing the coach. It is more or less that of systemic failure. Nothing works! No real structure on the ground, no strategic plan to develop football from the grassroots (cadet level), no reliable football administration, and indeed no commitment from the players, the coaching crew or even Nigerians in terms of support to the national team. If the team wins, Nigerians will crucify them that the game was easy, that they did not play well, that they faced a weak team. If they loose, Nigerians will still crucify them that they allowed a small team to beat them, Haba! The reality on the ground is that if you like get the best coach in the world today for Super Eagles, they will still not go far. Apart from God, no coach will be able to achieve that feat. My suggestion is for Nigeria to forget 2010 world cup and start planning for 2018 World Cup. Even in 2014 we won't go far. The truth is bitter! am sorry. |
deb:But Shehata is not a world cup coach. He has been unable to qualify Egypt for World Cup since 2004. Within that period our own dear Amodu has achieved the feat TWO times. I doubt if this Shehata guy can go far if taken by NFF. |
Nigeria never ceases to amaze and amuse me!! What is this again? Another adhoc, impromptu, uncordinated approach to solving the nation's sports woes? Methinks Nigeria football problem is endemic. It is not just about the coach, it is a systemic problem. With the kind of challenges facing the Super Eagles, even Pep Guadiola of Barcelona FC, Arsene Wenger of Arsenal, Fergusen, Ancelloti and any of the world class coaches will not be able to make an impact. Let Amodu finish his work. Let's forget about making impact in the 2010 world cup. Let's start in August to build a structure and teams that will make us proud in 2022! |
THE AMAKA:i like this Amaka babe! |
Having reviewed the performance of Super Eagles viz a viz their peers(world cup-bound African teams), I am of the opinion that Nigeria stands a good chance of making an impact at the mundial. Their performance against Ghana was commendable though they lost. We could see good ball possession, fluid game, and the flavour of Nigerian football. We can do better! This thread calls for contributions on what could be done to prepare for 2010 world cup coming up in June. Please note that removing Amodu as coach is not under consideration since his contract expires in August after the world cup. What should the coaching crew do? What should the players do? What should the football authorities do? What should the corporate Nigeria do? What should Nigerians do, etc. Instead of just complaining and writing off Naija, Amodu, the team and NFF/PTF, let's advise and contribute. Let's show the world the POSITIVE power of Naija! Thanks |
I still believe in Naija, the power of Naija. Naija played better than Ghana in that match! UP Naija, Amodu and the Super Eagles. Nothin spoil!!! We go show the world how to play soccer in SA. Amodu will rejuvenate the team before then. |
match go soon start. ghana will see the power of naija. up amodu and his boys. up naija |
@ kokorunna that is not the bottom line (i.e. how they played) the bottom line is that they won 5-4. NLanders Did you notice tha Zambia had a foreign coach, yet Amodu's team beat them. Also Cameroun had a foreign coach, they lost out yet our own Amodu's team qualified to the semifinal |
Whether Zambia or Cameroun, Our Super Eagles will beat them today. All we need do is to support Coach Amodu and his boys. Letz for once encourage these guys. Their best is yet to come. I doff my heart for the Eagles. See you in the finals. |
I don't think getting Keshi, Siasia, Nooij etc is a good idea. Stephen Keshi has not won any medal or cup as a coach both in Togo and Mali. His team could move beyond the first round in this Nations cup. I think we should just encourage our man Amodu to finish his work. Despite all the name-calling, harrassment, criticisms etc Amodu is still producing result. Nigerians, let's just encourage this Amodu for now. I believe he will do better with our encouragement. |
I don't understand! How can nurses be promiscuous? Whatz d motivation? Do they do the sick patients or other workers in the hospital? Or do they abandon the patients and go on a bing? Somebody help. |
It appears the eagles were not fit in that match. Notice that they seem to tire out easily and were breathing heavily. Anyway with Coach Amodu's team defeating Mozambique, who is still recommending Nooij (Mozambique coach) to replace Amodu? |
Nigeria will beat Mozambique. The real issue is not beating them, but reviving our football. Let Amodu and co conclude the Nations Cup and World Cup. Thereafter Nigeria can settle down and build a fresh team. At the moment , the Super Eagles is not a team. We need young players that will re-enact the football flavour the whole world is proud of.--- the naija flavour. |
